The food was good over all. But they no longer offer the Family Meal to dine, only available for limited hours and only for takeout. That was a disappointment. Gyro was soft and flaborful. Ground chicken was also pretty good. read more

This is our favorite Mediterranean spot in the area! We usually get the gyro plate ans the chicken kabob plate and they are always so good. The rice is delicious, the pita bread is so good, and the garlic sauce makes it all that much better! We order from here almost every week, it's that good! read more

Had the most delicious seven hour lamb with vegetables and garlic potatoes. Yum! Yum! Tried the cheese appetizer and it was good! Lastly I enjoyed the profiteroles. Double Yum! I love this place for lunch, fresh food, friendly service and unbeatable prices. Nothing fancy, but food is tasty. I especially like the hummus. Update 05/15/2015: After consistently deteriorating portion size and quality I have to move Bravo Avo to the "We used to go there" list. My last meal was just bad, the salad was brown, there was barely any meat and the plate was the size of a quarter. I really hope they try a bit harder. read more

Decided to try this place with all the good reviews. This food was awful! The service was awful. It was bad enough to deal with the extremely rude older heavy set man behind the counter!!! We got the food to go "rib eye" and chicken. The rib eye was raw and very much doubtful it was actually rib eye, but it was rare. The chicken was pink and not cooked. We cooked it in the pan at home some more so we don't get sick. The taste was very bland!!! We got three small pieces of this so called rib eye with each meal. I cannot believe we just spent almost $50 for this very underwhelming food that came with an attitude. I don't get the good reviews here. I hope something better puts them out of business. Will never ever go back!!! Don't waste your money!! read more

Decided to give this place a try with 6 other family members. A good friend had just recommended it so we figured why not. 3 of us ordered the Kabob trio and let me just tell you we were not disappointed. The meat was incredibly juicy, flavorful and tender. My daughter ordered the Lamb shoulder stew with veggies and she said it was really delicious. Owner was incredibly warm and welcoming. We will definitely be back! read more

Nice quaint restaurant to enjoy a meal! The chef himself was the one that took our order and was able to recommend/answer any questions we had regarding the menu. We ordered hummus and it came with the softest pita bread! The hummus was creamy and delicious as well. The falafel was probably the best I've had. Not greasy, very flavorful and light. I definitely recommend. I got the chicken a la avo which was also good) and the rest of my party got kabob combo. The kabob combo wasn't as memorable to me as the hummus, pita, and falafel. This is my favorite place to eat in the area. I wish we had more family owned restaurants like this. It has become my weekly treat to myself, I come every Friday for lunch. I was in the Irvine area for work with a group of 10! I searched yelp and I came across this gem! This is a true "Mom and Pop" business and they love their restaurant and we LOVED their food! When we arrived the owner came out and introduced himself. He went through the menu and went over the specials. I had the Lamb Shank which came with grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes. The lamb was amazing! It was so tender and falling off the bone! About 5 of us ordered this specials we were all raving about it! The others ordered a pasta dish with sausage in it and they loved it too. The next morning, we were all raving about how good dinner was! All I can say is, BRAVO to Bravo Avo!!!! read more
