Love brazilian steakhouses. We have been to Fogo de Chao & Texas de Brazil and this was very similar, but a more local chain. It was a really positive experience. The salad bar was good and the complimentary appetizers were delicious. The meats were all tasty and the dessert was likewise good. Excellent spot in Louisville.

After a long weekend of soccer, we visited Brazeiros to refuel and celebrate a successful tryout. There's free street parking on Sundays, so we parked down the block. We arrived around 4pm, and the restaurant was fairly empty. There's a nice wine & spirits bar just inside the entrance. The decor is modern and masculine with wood accents, a wine wall, and a Bourbon tower near the salad bar. Brazeiros also features a private room where you can host an event. We ordered the Gaucho Experience so we could try all 15+ of the meats. They let us start out at the salad bar first, but this wasn't my first Brazilian BBQ experience -- I think I grabbed a couple pieces of cheese, and that's it. The meats started coming at a reasonable pace. We'd grab our slices, and proceed to eat them. After a few stops, the servers started coming faster and faster. It was hard to keep up with the onslaught of deliciousness. There were so many choices, it's hard to pick a favorite. Steak, chicken, lamb, pork, and more. And don't forget the amazing cheesebread. All were delicious and it was hard to turn down the servers as my belly started getting full. As usual, Brazilian BBQ dinners can be expensive. If you show up before 3pm, there's a bit of a discount. But the food and experience was well worth it.

Wow what an experience.. we came to celebrate a friend's birthday. I made the reservation and we were seated as soon as the group arrived. Our server was quick to get our drinks order and since this was my first time and everyone else in the group has already been here. He still took the time to explain the service. The salad bar was a nice touch but can get crowded quickly. They had a couple meat & cheese options, some veggies options and then salad toppings with different lettuce options. Unfortunately I wasn't able to take any pictures from the pace of dinner and not enough hand to hold plates and my phone. Once we got our salad plates made, they started bringing out some sides, mashed potatoes, fried polenta and fried bananas. The mashed potatoes were flavorful and the fried polenta was good too, light salt and just enough crisp. The fried bananas were my favorite just a hint of sweetness. But the stars of the show were the meats. Also let me say that the meat servers were precise and speedy dancing their way through the dining room. They were quick to identify who had there card on red or green. All the meats were cooked to perfection. The chicken and the lamb were my favorite. I recommend getting some of the sauces on the salad bar some of the meats weren't really seasoned but their sauces are a nice compliment. The seat is nice however the tables are a bit congested and have to find a path of least resistance to get up to the bathroom or salad bar. Overall great experience, good service, there was some lagging/confusion on us getting the dessert menu and the food was good. Parking is street/ garage parking wherever you can find around 4th street.

I had a great experience! Food: counted about 7+ meats going around, lamb, chicken, beef, all with their own unique delicious taste and warm fresh! Staff: kind, active and knowledgeable, keeping your glass filled and happy Inside: warm with a successful intricacy of light moods between dim and bright

    Not a good night.

Really disappointing experience. The meat was mostly overcooked, and the servers left the table as quickly as they could whenever they had the chance. The woman cutting the meat was the worst--she often skipped over everyone else at the table who wanted to be served without even asking. We had asked her a time or two to come back but she walked off as she didn't hear us. This visit was especially strange since our last was great. Hopefully, this was just a one-off, but given the cost, I don't see myself coming back anytime soon. We also waited at least ten minutes for drinks, clearly they had forgotten them. Wrong drinks refilled the second time. Throughout the night I was also given cuts from the wrong side requested. All of this on a Saturday night where you would expect to be A+ because of the traffic. Too expensive for the quality.

I cannot say enough about this place. The vibe is amazing and the whole meal is an experience. Each server is extremely friendly and polite. It has become a tradition for my boyfriend and me to visit this restaurant each year for his birthday. They also offer you a free dessert for your birthday. This is on the higher end, but it is an experience worth the price!! Will be going back each year, if not more!

All the meat you can eat. Now, with that said, the meat is the treat here. So, if you truly want to feel you got your money's worth...skip the salad. The salad is good, but $ for $, the best bang for the buck is (I counted 8 different offerings) the steak, chicken, sausage, ribs, and lamb. There was even grilled garlic bread and grilled pineapple. The sides of mashed potatoes, plantains, and fried polenta sticks were not impressive. The tables are very close together, so maneuvering throughout the dining room can be a little tight and noisy. The servers were above average. They have it down to a science, and you pay your waiter. This was a pricey experience, but if you've never been to a Brazilian steakhouse, it is worth it for a special occasion or bragging rights about how long you hung in there before turning that disk over to red.

New York cheesecake with Strawberry drizzle.....Very good! The atmosphere, the food, the service was great!

Amazing place and wasn't so busy when we first arrived about 5:25pm. Seated immediately and before long almost all the tables were full. Quickly waited on, water requested and followed up with drinks. They explained the system and how it works. Red coaster is no meats, green they stop by with continued different meats ( also roasted cinnamon pineapple) Service was fast paced but if you get overwhelmed by so many so quick flip the coaster to red! All the meats were excellent and had choices of medium rare to well done. I can't even remember all the different types but they were all great. I'm not partial to mutton but enjoyed the lamb chops and leg of lamb. Filet Mignon, Rib Eye, Chicken Legs, Top Sirloin and Bottom Sirloin, Shirt Ribs, Pork Ribs, Bacon Wrapped Chicken, Chicken Legs, Sausages, Garlic Prime Rib and Shrimp. I might of missed one, but impressive food. If you're partial to some meat(s) just asked or request something; wonderful service! And yes the salad bar - very good and diverse items but don't fill up too much on salad. The room was very well decorated and cozy and warm ( great for the cold evening outside ) The meats are grilled to your liking. Epic experience and the place was packed before we left. Kudos; at least a once in a lifetime experience; but could lead to more visits how the road!

The American breakfast had large potato pieces, good sausage, and made to order eggs. Hot coffee was on the better side for hotel coffee. Dinner: they were super accommodating, as we were traveling with a friend with an infant. I called ahead to let them know we would come in with a stroller, and they made sure to sit us in an area where the stroller was not in the way of servers or other guests. Our server was one of the most attentive people I have ever met, and every recommendation they gave was fantastic. We started with the oyster rockefellar and the spicy tuna tartare. The oysters were massive and the tuna dish was so good, we got it a second time later in the weekend. We all got steaks for our mains and added a lobster tail - there was a mix up with the lobster tail taking a bit and they ended up bringing out the largest lobster tail to make up for it. All steaks, their sides, and sauces were fantastic- better than most I have had in the DC area. The food was all rich so under order or share amongst friends. Cocktails were of course fantastic, from espresso martinis to the famous smoked old fashions. We had drinks at the bar another night and the service was just as good, though they did tell us that they didn't serve the drink in a smoke box when we certainly had one just a night before.

They offer valet parking for $14, but street parking was easy to find and just a short walk away. We started with the Caesar salad and the wedge salad. Both were good, although the wedge had a bit too much dressing for my taste. I ordered the filet with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms. The filet was excellent, and while I'm not usually a mushroom person, these were truly outstanding. The bread was also some of the best I've ever had. I also ordered one of the mocktails, which I enjoyed because it wasn't overly sweet. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. Our waiter was efficient, but he wasn't particularly friendly, and the entire meal felt rushed. Several times, someone tried to clear my plate while I was still eating. We also had to ask for more time more than once before ordering because we felt pressured to make decisions quickly. With a bill of over $300, I expected a more relaxed dining experience where we could enjoy the evening at our own pace.

Their claim to fame seems to be 1) Muhammed Ali used to eat there and 2) they wouldn't serve OJ Simpson and kicked him out. Nick was our incredibly friendly and knowledgeable server. I ordered a half dozen oysters, an iceberg blue salad and a Cowboy rare petite filet mignon steak. We also shared a large side of shishito peppers. The oysters were very fresh and spot on, served with horseradish, vinegar, fresh lemon and Tabasco. They weren't fully shucked, so I had to pry them from the shell. My salad never made it to the table. Nick was mortified and offered to make it right with dessert (which I politely declined). The steak was good and was cooked rare, the way I asked. The weird thing was that the rare steak tasted dry - maybe it was the rub, but a rare steak should not taste dry. Almost like it was cooked medium. I told Nick I liked the steak but it might have been the seasoning that made it taste dry. They comped the steak. Outstanding. They earned a star back. Nick knew how to make a customer feel welcomed, special, and appreciated. Definitely worth a visit, but bring a credit card with a high limit. Four of us had an excellent experience for our dinner in Louisville, and besides the food, a lot of that experience was due to our server, Julie. She was great, super friendly and professional, and expertly answered a ton of Bourbon-related questions from my Bourbon loving friend. My wife and I dove into the Southern theme and had a Pulled Pork Sandwich ($16), Southern Colada ($16), Fried Green Tomatoes ($10), and a Southern Gumbo ($10) for dinner. I ordered the Fried Gren Tomatoes to share with the table, and they were wonderful - "Five full moon green tomatoes fried in cornmeal and panko, topped with fresh chives and served with Doc's Remoulade". They were light as a feather, most definitely non-greasy and had a great crunch from the panko and cornmeal. My Southern Gumbo (A hearty stew filled with andouille sausage, chicken and vegetables in savory Cajun broth served over rice. Served with cornbread) was excellent. Great flavor, great spice, plenty of sausage and chicken, and excellent accompaniments in the rice and cornbread. And how could I not mention my Southern Colada, with Michter's US*1 Sour Mash, Pineapple Juice & Coconut. It was quite a bit stronger than any Colada I ever had, but I guess that can be expected when you use an 86-proof small batch Kentucky whiskey in your Colada. Of course, I loved it. This was our second visit to Doc Crow. We were there a few days ago as the first stop on our Louisville food tour and enjoyed a delicious bowl of shrimp and grits. The Doc sure treated us well. I don't know if this is a thing they do at Doc Crow's, but in my opinion the bartender excessively kept asking me what I wanted even while I was still looking at the menu. Upstairs, we had amazing service also. I ordered a cocktail that they had on the downstairs menu, and not the regular menu. It did not faze our server. He said he would figure it out- and he did! After a round of drinks, we stayed with appetizers: meatballs, fritto misto, piatto di frutti di mare and the crab cake. Everything was devoured. I loved the crab cake and the meatballs. The fried calamari was pretty standard and the cold seafood platter was fine- I had an oyster off of it. For dinner, I had the "Pappardelle" : short rib ragu alla bolognese, grano padano, and added two seared scallops. Wow. The pasta is homemade. It was phenomenal. My husband had the "Maiale" : 16oz pork chop, cauliflower puree, chard, stone fruit, bourbon glaze. It was a large portion and cooked perfectly. So good. Our friends had steaks and sides, so I was able to try the Mac and cheese- which did not get congealed! The corn was delicious and the mushrooms were a variety. Of course we had dessert. I asked for cannoli and they had it! They weee not soggy. I had three different favors. I love cannoli. These were really good. We also shared the millionaire's tart and some sort of apple crumble with ice cream. Yum. We had more round of drinks throughout including some fun ones - see the treasure chest video. I would recommend this place. They have a great menu. Drinks were awesome. Service topped everything. They went out of their way for us multiple times. Thanks so much. Hubby took me to one of the oldest steakhouses in town last fall, and even with three adults, the bill was noticeably lower than what we spent at this establishment. Service here gets a solid 5 stars -- everyone was attentive and personable. Ambience earns a strong 4 stars with a nice vibe that fits the area. The menu itself is intriguing, and every dish we ordered came out at the right temperature and well‑executed. Overall flavor was good. The desserts, however, didn't quite match the caliber we hoped for -- though to be fair, we're not professional food critics, so take that for what it's worth. Not sure yet if we'd return. If we did, it'd probably be with a larger group so we could share the dishes we enjoyed and make the price point feel a little more balanced. That said, the location is perfect for out‑of‑towners staying at the nearby hotels and those hitting the area's higher‑end entertainment spots.

Whenever we asked someone to recommend somewhere to eat, they invariably would say La Bodeguita. I…read moream not exaggerating, every single person. We were leaving for the second leg of our trip and were running late, as usual. We decided to run across the street for a sit down lunch, what's another hour? Two smiling faces greeted us at the door. They offered a high top but my hip was absolutely not digging it nor a table up the flight of steep stairs. Once seated, we were greeted promptly and had water in front of us almost immediately. We each ordered soup and then a sandwich to share. I had the Sopa de Pollo . A hot bowl thick with thin noodles and lots of chunks of chicken. The chunks were too big to eat without being cut up which was a challenge in a bowl of broth. It was so hot that I had to wait a while to try it and even then had to blow on it. It was delicious. Unless the soup is your meal, order a cup. I still took nearly a pint of soup back with me. My husband ordered the Frijole Negro - a huge bowl of black beans that was served with a large pile of raw onions on top. Like the chicken soup, it was burn your mouth hot and a very large serving. He said it was good but he'd not order it again. Moving on to the sandwich. We had the Cubano. I'm not even going to describe it - just trust me - order the Cubano. Do not look at the rest of the menu - order the Cubano. Don't even bother looking at the ingredients, just order the Cubano. Have you ordered it yet? Do it already. The Cubano is huge. We split one half and had the other when we arrived at our next stop. Do consider that we had soup first; otherwise, we'd have eaten the whole thing. The accompanying plantain chips were worthy of their own review. They were wonderful. Who knows if and when we'll be back to Louisville but when we are, La Bodeguita will be the first place we stop. BTW, have you ordered the Cubano yet? What are you waiting for? Put your phone done and order it! Enjoy!!

I visited Porch Kitchen & Bar on a whim, and I was delighted to find that the food is great! I…read moredidn't have children with me, but the table next to me had a toddler, and the restaurant offers a kids menu, so children and families are definitely welcome. I got the kale Caesar salad, and added salmon on it to make it a whole meal. I'm not usually a fan of riffs on a Caesar salad, because how do you improve upon a classic? But this kale job was mighty tasty, and the coldness of the salad went nicely with the hot salmon filet. We also got the smoked turkey Cobb salad, which was satisfying and had lots of stuff in it. If you want a salad with a variety of colors and flavors and textures, this is the salad to get. I was here for dinner, and the ambiance was nice and mellow, with soft lights and comfortable seats at the tables. This was a nice little restaurant to grab a salad and a drink.

All of our food was served cold even the people next to us, the crazy part is we asked for the wings to be well done and they were but they also felt frozen! Also I hate when chicken is served with feathers, and these wings were definitely not cleaned well. We stopped eating them immediately and notified the manager. The bartender was incredible, we enjoyed our drinks and stayed for the margaritas but unfortunately we did not enjoy the food! I'm hoping I can come back one day and it won't be as bad. I think the kitchen staff was overwhelmed and I tried not to take it personal since the manager was apologetic and comped most of our meal. Next time I return, it will be for brunch...maybe!
