I thought the food was very good. The service was also great and the scenery was nice. Prices were relatively reasonable for the most part as well

Our dining group of 10 convened here for a weeknight dinner following an earlier pre-dinner cocktail at the rooftop bar. Most of us had parked in the pay lot next to the property and some used valet parking. Accessibility could be an issue for some patrons. The waiting area and the interior spaces of this venue are quite striking, both architecturally and with regard to decor. Lighting fixtures were uniquely spectacular. I did not particularly care for the majority of the seating options due to bench type seating and almost half of our group had to do the scoot, scoot, scoot to be in place. The upholstered chairs on the other half of the dining table were also uncomfortable. Maybe they don't want large groups? Or for customers to linger? Menu had a fair variety of options, but not extensive. Overall, I felt it was a bit pretentious and overpriced. I had a glass of wine, salted roasted beet salad, and fish of the day. None of my menu choices wowed me and likewise other members of our dining group echoed this sentiment. I had to request a correction to my final ticket due to being charged for an additional glass of wine. Noise level was moderate when space was at 1/2 capacity, likely contributing to that level is the open air kitchen. Dining experience was okay, but highly likely am one-and-done with this location when contemplating where I would choose to spend a special occasion. This is taking into consideration the menu options, overall ambience, level of service, and cost and ease of access at this elevated price point.

Amazing meal at Bourre Bonne Friday night. Made a reservation using Open Table. A Hostess called to confirm the reservation and noted that we were celebrating our daughter's 22nd birthday and asked how they could make it special. Well, without knowing what to ask for, they set us up in Kevin's lovely table in an elevated little corner overlooking the kitchen & dining room. Levi was our server and so charming. He really took care of us. The atmosphere is kind of sexy & swanky with really good DJ style music in the background -- not loud or intrusive. The food was also amazing. We ate and drank and managed to spend over $400 for the 3 of us, but it was worth every cent. Had a nightcap at the rooftop bar, which I can't wait to visit when the weather improves. Look forward to going back.

Had dinner at this amazing steak house for my husbands birthday. The service and food were out standing, they went above and beyond for this unique and intimate experience. Highly suggest this amazing Restaraunt to anyone truly looking for an experience, great drinks and mouth watering food!!! After dinner we headed to the 6th floor bar for a night cap and ambience. Check out the Fur Coat photos, that's where we were when he got cold The conversation was flowing and we were laughing and enjoying being together. We needed this getaway for us and to celebrate our life together!!! Louisville was an amazing 24 hours visiting you, we will be back very soon and want to stay at this hotel!!!

$48 lobster Mac and cheese. Definitely not worth it.

We had dinner at Bourré Bonne and, unfortunately, it was disappointing. While the space itself is absolutely stunning and the service very attentive, those were the only highlights of the evening. For the price point, the wine and food simply do not measure up -- and charging $12 for a draft beer only adds to the frustration. The wine list is average at best yet priced as if it were top tier, and the food followed the same pattern. We began with the smoked fish dip, which was the most flavorful dish of the night and deserving of a 4/5. The salt-roasted beets, however, were lackluster -- bland cheese, minimal flavor from the beets, and nothing that would inspire a repeat order. The most disappointing dish was the lobster mac and cheese. The base dish is $18, with a lobster add-on for $30, bringing the total to $48. Our server assured us this included a full lobster tail, but that was not the case. The plate arrived with only a decorative lobster fin on top, and the amount of lobster in the dish was minimal. To make matters worse, what lobster was present was fishy and tough -- clear signs it was not fresh. For $48, this dish should be a standout; instead, it was embarrassing to see it on the menu at that quality. With so many incredible local restaurants in Louisville -- such as Jack Fry's and North of Bourbon -- it's hard to see how Bourré Bonne will succeed long term. Its only chance may be with out-of-town guests who don't know any better.

Great upscale restaurant, especially for a celebration dinner. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday because he loves a good steak. Food and service was excellent. Expensive but we knew what we were getting into. Although expensive, the food was definitely top notch and we enjoyed every bite. We had lobster bisque, beef tartar, wagyu strip, lamb chops, brussel sprouts, and tempura shrooms. The tartar had a slight kick to it but was good... served with kettle chips, toasted baguettes, and crackers. We got the shrooms because they were something different and was pleasantly surprised... a medley of mushrooms deep fried. The lamb chops and wagyu strip were both perfectly cooked and tender. The lobster bisque was poured into the bowl tableside. For my chops, I chose to have a blackened crispy garlic butter added and that was melted over the chops tableside as well.

We had dinner in the steakhouse tonight since we're staying in the hotel. The hotel and restaurant are new, modern, and high tech enterprises. Everything is attractive and well conceived. Our table was ready on time, when we arrived. Our server arrived quickly and was always around when we needed him. The menu is classic steakhouse, with the expected apps, soups, salads, steaks, and a variety of entrees. We went light, each having the French onion soup and a wedge salad. The soup was great and the salad good. We also had the croissant rolls, a decadent creation. There's a very good wine list, with broad sections and prices consistent with the quality of the establishment. We shared a nice California Chardonnay. The only area for criticism was the background music, which was 'energetic', meaning suited for a clientele much younger than us. The only thing that came through the crowd noise was the upbeat bass. A little annoying, but overall a pretty good experience.

My niece and I attended their Kentucky Style Holiday Tea Service. I am a lover of any and everything afternoon tea and this was quite enchanting. The tra sandwiches had a Kentucky spin as did the delicate pastries and they were delicious. The specialty cocktails were also. Santa was fantastic playing Happy Birthday by sax to us and also playing a variety of Christmas songs. I'd like to especiallu mention the male server who served my niece and I celebrating our December Christmas birthdays. He was so attentive as we dined, but he also provided much needed assistance in our departure with me in my walker. His kindness and extra effort meant the world to us and will not soon be forgotten. We don't know his name, but will always remember his kindness.

The American breakfast had large potato pieces, good sausage, and made to order eggs. Hot coffee was on the better side for hotel coffee. Dinner: they were super accommodating, as we were traveling with a friend with an infant. I called ahead to let them know we would come in with a stroller, and they made sure to sit us in an area where the stroller was not in the way of servers or other guests. Our server was one of the most attentive people I have ever met, and every recommendation they gave was fantastic. We started with the oyster rockefellar and the spicy tuna tartare. The oysters were massive and the tuna dish was so good, we got it a second time later in the weekend. We all got steaks for our mains and added a lobster tail - there was a mix up with the lobster tail taking a bit and they ended up bringing out the largest lobster tail to make up for it. All steaks, their sides, and sauces were fantastic- better than most I have had in the DC area. The food was all rich so under order or share amongst friends. Cocktails were of course fantastic, from espresso martinis to the famous smoked old fashions. We had drinks at the bar another night and the service was just as good, though they did tell us that they didn't serve the drink in a smoke box when we certainly had one just a night before.

They offer valet parking for $14, but street parking was easy to find and just a short walk away. We started with the Caesar salad and the wedge salad. Both were good, although the wedge had a bit too much dressing for my taste. I ordered the filet with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms. The filet was excellent, and while I'm not usually a mushroom person, these were truly outstanding. The bread was also some of the best I've ever had. I also ordered one of the mocktails, which I enjoyed because it wasn't overly sweet. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. Our waiter was efficient, but he wasn't particularly friendly, and the entire meal felt rushed. Several times, someone tried to clear my plate while I was still eating. We also had to ask for more time more than once before ordering because we felt pressured to make decisions quickly. With a bill of over $300, I expected a more relaxed dining experience where we could enjoy the evening at our own pace.

Their claim to fame seems to be 1) Muhammed Ali used to eat there and 2) they wouldn't serve OJ Simpson and kicked him out. Nick was our incredibly friendly and knowledgeable server. I ordered a half dozen oysters, an iceberg blue salad and a Cowboy rare petite filet mignon steak. We also shared a large side of shishito peppers. The oysters were very fresh and spot on, served with horseradish, vinegar, fresh lemon and Tabasco. They weren't fully shucked, so I had to pry them from the shell. My salad never made it to the table. Nick was mortified and offered to make it right with dessert (which I politely declined). The steak was good and was cooked rare, the way I asked. The weird thing was that the rare steak tasted dry - maybe it was the rub, but a rare steak should not taste dry. Almost like it was cooked medium. I told Nick I liked the steak but it might have been the seasoning that made it taste dry. They comped the steak. Outstanding. They earned a star back. Nick knew how to make a customer feel welcomed, special, and appreciated. Definitely worth a visit, but bring a credit card with a high limit. My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I spent most of the afternoon on a bourbon tour and a post-tour distillery so...food was needed. And quickly. In our mild defense, we didn't really know how the day was going to go or when we were actually going to have dinner, which made it a little tougher to pre-plan, but no research went into this at all and we paid for it. We wrapped up our bourbon adventures at the Angel's Envy distillery probably five or six blocks from here. Instead of being grownups and doing at least a quick/impromptu recon for spots, we literally just walked outside and down W Main St until we hit something. And we hit this, which was right on the edge of the main tourist area, pretty much Louisville's equivalent of the Times Square/MSG area. And as someone who works and used to live in NYC, you'd have to do a lot of convincing to get me to eat in that particular area - it's overpriced and the food/service just tends to not be very good, which makes you wonder what the appeal is for tourists beyond the convenience. But regardless, it's always struck me as an odd way for a tourism spot to put its best foot forward (or not). Doc Crow's is enormous, and when we were brought further into the restaurant to our table, I think we literally walked through three or four large rooms and navigated through multiple passageways. If you told me this place took up an entire city block or close to it, I'd believe you. Beyond the size/scope, there's nothing really distinctive that separates it from the myriad of other restaurants you'd expect to see catering to out-of-towners. It was the Friday evening of Memorial Day Weekend, so a place that I suspect is usually pretty busy was even busier and louder than that. Maybe not the greatest recipe after a bourbon tour, but who can say. On the app front, we got the Crispy Salmon Bites, which were fine. Not an item I typically see on a menu, even one with more of a seafood bent. I thought the cornmeal/panko breading was the right call; I'm a big catfish aficionado, so I'm of the opinion that cornmeal is underutilized, at least in the Northeast where I come from. Otherwise, nothing really mind-blowing there; probably would have made sense for it to be a different type of fish given the prep (I think salmon is best raw in a sushi roll or grilled), but it could have been worse. I don't think a ton of thought went into this on my end, but I went with the full rack BBQ ribs, along with a side of mac n' cheese. Again, okay, though not as flavorful as I would have hoped and I thought the ribs were on the dry side. Not their fault, but I always regret getting the full rack in hindsight because ribs have a deceptively significant amount of meat on the bones and a half rack is a very decent portion by itself; I am a work in progress just like everyone else. The mac n' cheese was also pretty dry, which I think you can see pretty obviously in the accompanying picture. Tasted and felt reheated at least once or twice. The service was pretty efficient given how busy it was, but our waiter was just on robotic autopilot. Not remotely personable and everything I said to him was responded to with, "For sure, for sure." Maybe he was having a rough night to start the holiday weekend, but it felt like he was just going through the motions and just checking off some boxes there. I went into this already predisposed to not like the generic tourist trap places, so grain of salt. But my recommendation if you have the time/bandwidth (now that I'm a cagey Louisville vet) is to bypass this area if you can and find something tastier and more interesting in the Highlands neighborhood. That's where the real ones are.

The space is super nice and trendy, feels small but cozy, dimly lit, and trendy. Loved the lights and indoor plant vibe. Our server was super friendly, helpful, and attentive. Overall, we thought the branzino was the highlight by far, it had excellent flavor and texture. Although on the pricier side, it was nicely done, flavorful, and had good texture. The cauliflower wasn't anything crazy, but we thought we'd try it since we saw lots of reviews about it. Probably would try something different next time though. We enjoyed the hummus and pita. The rice that came with the branzino was flavorful, but not my favorite. Had a really strong sweet herb flavors that I didn't love, but maybe that's just my preference. Overall thought it was a nice experience! Big portions so we took a lot to go as well. Definitely a bit on the pricier side and didn't feel totally blown away (maybe had too high expectations from all the hype and booked out reservations), but overall good quality meal and nice for a special occasion. Would be down to come again to try other dishes!

This was the best experience and these two gentlemen made sure of it. The drinks Brian made for us were top notch and some of the best I've ever had. I had the Chamomile Fields Old Fashion and my husband had the Smoked Ok'd Fashion and the New York Sour. All of them outstanding! We felt at home, Brian and Teddy made the whole night special. We did some bourbon tasting and went home with a few extra bottles. The ambience was a perfect ending for our trip with its warm, intimate setting.

There were many seats at the bar as well as couch and chair areas. They also have bathrooms down there. Service was outstanding. We had a bourbon flight and some cocktails. Our server even took group pics for us. He also provided menus so we could be prepared for dinner. When our table was ready, we reconciled our check and headed back upstairs. Upstairs, we had amazing service also. I ordered a cocktail that they had on the downstairs menu, and not the regular menu. It did not faze our server. He said he would figure it out- and he did! After a round of drinks, we stayed with appetizers: meatballs, fritto misto, piatto di frutti di mare and the crab cake. Everything was devoured. I loved the crab cake and the meatballs. The fried calamari was pretty standard and the cold seafood platter was fine- I had an oyster off of it. For dinner, I had the "Pappardelle" : short rib ragu alla bolognese, grano padano, and added two seared scallops. Wow. The pasta is homemade. It was phenomenal. My husband had the "Maiale" : 16oz pork chop, cauliflower puree, chard, stone fruit, bourbon glaze. It was a large portion and cooked perfectly. So good. Our friends had steaks and sides, so I was able to try the Mac and cheese- which did not get congealed! The corn was delicious and the mushrooms were a variety. Of course we had dessert. I asked for cannoli and they had it! They weee not soggy. I had three different favors. I love cannoli. These were really good. We also shared the millionaire's tart and some sort of apple crumble with ice cream. Yum. We had more round of drinks throughout including some fun ones - see the treasure chest video. I would recommend this place. They have a great menu. Drinks were awesome. Service topped everything. They went out of their way for us multiple times. Thanks so much. We can't wait to come back again.

We were leaving for the second leg of our trip and were running late, as usual. We decided to run across the street for a sit down lunch, what's another hour? Two smiling faces greeted us at the door. They offered a high top but my hip was absolutely not digging it nor a table up the flight of steep stairs. Once seated, we were greeted promptly and had water in front of us almost immediately. We each ordered soup and then a sandwich to share. I had the Sopa de Pollo . A hot bowl thick with thin noodles and lots of chunks of chicken. The chunks were too big to eat without being cut up which was a challenge in a bowl of broth. It was so hot that I had to wait a while to try it and even then had to blow on it. It was delicious. Unless the soup is your meal, order a cup. I still took nearly a pint of soup back with me. My husband ordered the Frijole Negro - a huge bowl of black beans that was served with a large pile of raw onions on top. Like the chicken soup, it was burn your mouth hot and a very large serving. He said it was good but he'd not order it again. Moving on to the sandwich. We had the Cubano. I'm not even going to describe it - just trust me - order the Cubano. Do not look at the rest of the menu - order the Cubano. Don't even bother looking at the ingredients, just order the Cubano. Have you ordered it yet? Do it already. The Cubano is huge. We split one half and had the other when we arrived at our next stop. Do consider that we had soup first; otherwise, we'd have eaten the whole thing. The accompanying plantain chips were worthy of their own review. They were wonderful. Who knows if and when we'll be back to Louisville but when we are, La Bodeguita will be the first place we stop. BTW, have you ordered the Cubano yet? What are you waiting for? Put your phone done and order it! Enjoy!!
