    Heart-like shape in the toast

Personally I think some of the best breakfast meals you can have are some of the local hole in the wall/mom and pop shops. My wife and I love going to places like this while traveling and despite that had yet to go to Brea Lu even though it's less than 10 minutes away from us. When you walk through the door you step into a large open space with tables and booths all over the place along with a large bar with lots of stools. They do appear to have a little bit of space available for a few more tables but that may become too much. Also thankfully they have their own parking lot, street parking available if that's full though. Staff were friendly and we were sat right away and food and drinks took no time at all. Only real knock was no check in about how the food was or if we needed anything. So, while minimal complaint, service could have been a little better. Onto the part you'd care about most, the food. They have all the usual breakfast staples you'd expect from a spot like this plus daily specials if you want something a little different. I enjoyed their breakfast tacos while my wife enjoyed their homemade cornbeef hash. The tacos were delicious and overfilled to the point a lot fell out and had to be eaten by fork. My wife said their cornbeef hash is the best homemade version she has ever had. We both found the potatoes to be on the colder side and lacking seasoning/flavor. My wife also wished they had jams on the table for the toast. Prices were a little higher than some similar vibe restaurants but not totally absurd. So overall, we were pretty happy with our meals and will return. A solid local establishment that I think is worth checking out at least once.

My son and I stopped in their newer location for an early morning breakfast at opening (7am). The private parking lot was easy and convenient, much preferred to the issues of coming on/off the rotary into their old location. Only one other table had beat us there so there was ample space in the restaurant. We were told to sit wherever we liked. The one waitress that was there seemed to be handling her tasks without any problems. My son noticed that there were many coloring pages hanging at the hostess station and asked for her to bring over supplies. She did with a smile. We ordered a kids pancake, which came out in the shape of Mickey and a florentine benedict. We've ordered these same dishes at many restaurants over the last few weeks, as we have a standing Sunday morning date, and I'd summarize the menu and food as pretty average. They were good dishes, but weren't standouts.

Stopped here for breakfast the other day at the new location and it was good. They have a lot of tables but only a few were full. It still took quite a while to get food even though there were only a few people there. I got a burrito and my boyfriend out the eggs Benedict and they were both really great but a bit overpriced. Almost 20 dollars for a burrito is a lot. Overall I do enjoy the food but wish it was faster and a little cheaper.

Food was simple. Wasn't bad by any means but to be honest not anything that would draw me back. I had the All American Breakfast Sandwich (ham egg and cheese on an English muffin) that came with fried potatoes. I also had a coffee. The atmosphere was not to my liking; wide open space, very bright overhead shop/office style lights. Did not give the warm and cozy feel. This is just personal preference though. Service on the other hand was great. I was greeted and seated quickly. Server arrived quickly and was attentive throughout my visit. Also kind and polite. Wait time on food was minimal, it was out in a flash. Pricing was ok. However, as for the coffee pricing like all other restaurants these days they are trying to maximize profits on the drinks. I paid $2.99 which ended up being a single cup of coffee. In total $14.02 + tip.

Super disorganized. The service was horrible and some of the girls were very rude. Our silverware was dirty. The wait time before someone even acknowledged us after we were sat was ridiculous. Most definitely will not be back again. The food was gross. My daughter's pancake was burnt and the potatoes weren't even cooked all way and the food was cold! When the pancake was brought to the managers attention she said "Well our pancakes are big so they have to stay in the grill longer" and was argumentative about taking it off the bill. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!

A gem of a place for a great hometown breakfast feel. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. The space is large and open so you for sure don't feel crowded. The menu for breakfast is sure to satisfy your appetite. Don't miss out, put this on your list.

Seeing the news of them opening up on Thursday I knew we needed to visit their first weekend open. Ordered online and had a minimal wait once we got there, with only one hiccup. For some reason their system didn't print our order of mozzarella sticks but they made a batch really quick! My wife and I each got a different 10 inch pizza and split a small order of the mozzarella sticks. The pizza was perfectly sized for an individual in my opinion and tasty so good! Fresh ingredients with lots of toppings used, they didn't skimp on anything. Some of the best pizza I have had in awhile! Secondly, the mozzarella sticks I would say are the best I have had! Such a flavorful seasoned batter with fresh mozzarella inside fried to perfection! The small order had 6. I hope they do well as I will be a frequent visitor looking forward to my next pizza! Want to return and try their burgers, wings, and even their grab and go breakfast sandwiches! I suspect most of their business will be ordering online/pickup but they do have a few tables available inside. If you are in the area and craving pizza this is a spot you must check out!!!

There are so many different seating options--you can sit in the dining area, grab a high-top at the open bar, or enjoy your food and drinks outside. I especially loved the decor! It has such a beautiful garden-inspired vibe that makes the space feel really cozy and inviting. The staff was incredibly nice and friendly, which always makes an experience even better. They also had a great variety of beers, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options, so there really is something for everyone. We had to get something else on the kids menu because our kid is not used to red hot dog. That's fine but the wait staff said she would remove the charge. Instead, what happened was the hot dog was taken away and we were still charged the hot dog price. Saturday night, we tried to order online for pickup but their online order system was down during concert night. OK. We go to the restaurant to order. It was mostly empty with a few customers. We're told to go back to order pickup. The wait staff was so rude to me and the kids. I get it. They sell good beer that everyone buys cases and cases of to bring home. So, we decided to sneak over here after a busy morning at the lighthouse with our toddler for a nice, filling lunch before a later flight home. We must've gotten lucky on a Sunday bc our wait for three people was about 15-20 minutes quoted and we spent 10 minutes walking the block to entertain our toddler, came back to check-in and our table was ready! yay! We had a great table in the corner by the window which was excellent with our toddler. Our server, Brian, was wonderful and super friendly. Menu isn't huge but, has enough stuff that should be able to please most. We chose a small fry with the daily dip which was almost like a mayo-based honey mustard dijon and was delicious, with ketchup and vinegar for dipping. Fries were crispy and delicious. We got the green salad and the Cuban to split and loved both. The sandwich was delicious and the green salad was light and refreshing with some really yummy herbs on top to include fennel which isn't usually on a salad but I loved the taste for this one, worked perfectly with the dressing. My husband ordered their house-made cherry soda and let me tell you, best cherry soda of my life! We ordered two bc I drank about half of it. They have a charming outdoor patio area with about 3-4 other tables. Charming spot - def. recommend! Wait can get super long - by the time we left they were quoting over an hour for a table since it's smaller inside and large parties can take up almost all the spaces.
