We stopped in for an early lunch to this Topsham staple home style restaurant. we were greeted with a friendly hello. There were just two servers and they were hopping. Both were very pleasant and every time a meal was ready from the kitchen, you could hear them say thank you to the cooking crew. The menu options are pretty standard and the prices are reasonable. They have a special board, so make sure to check that out before placing your order. They also have lunch specials on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. The dining area is very accessible. And there are no stairs upon entry. I'm not sure about the accessibility of the bathrooms, though. Besides booths and tables, there is a counter with about eight stools. read more

Home cooking at its best. The restaurant is always full - doesn't seem to matter the day or time. I had to wait a little bit but it's definitely worth it. Not only is the "standard" menu amazing and varied but there are also always a lot of specials to peruse. The hardest part is deciding what to order. Don't worry: I don't think there's a bad choice. Our waitress was friendly, and the restaurant is quaintly decorated for an at-home feel. The only negative was that the air vent was directly above our table, so it was too chilly. This is a tiny place with a big following. It took several attempts to get to this place and get a seat to give it a try. Well worth the effort. Specials and features change on a regular basis, plus there are old standard classics on the menu. Be sure to check the chalk board for something of special interest. Onion rings were great, and among the best we have had anywhere. The skillet was fun, and the classic breakfast platter was fantastic. Specials are offered daily; just find the chalkboard on the wall. I opted for a tradition egg, bacon, and hash breakfast w/ toast. The hash was made on-site and packed w/ meat (lots of it), potatoes, onions, and fresh carrots. The Apple Cinnamon Toast was sliced thick and it was absolutely delicious (as was the hash). My friend ordered an Irish Eggs Benedict that included hash; it was wonderful. He had picked it over a Pastrami Benedict. There were other menu items that sounded incredible. Diners can even order Chicken & Waffles. Service was very good & very friendly. Lots of locals eat here, which tells me something! My husband ordered the cinnamon roll French toast with sausage and scrambled eggs. I ordered the pastrami eggs Benedict. And we split the grilled banana and coconut muffin. The sausage and French toast were great. The muffin didn't have much flavor, except the top. The eggs Benedict had very little flavor, there was a lot of hollandaise on it but you couldn't taste it. Located in Topsham so dine in is allowed now. They keep 6 ft between tables. Used to be cash only, now take cards (despite sign on front door). Had the country skillet and it was filled with lots of meat. Hashbrowns are amazing! You get side of toast so I got cinnamon toast which is super thick and reminds me of a less sweet cinnamon roll. Added cinnamon jelly to it. They have iced coffee! Husband got country fried steak which comes with homemade biscuit which was huge! You can add side of hash browns. We came on a Sunday morning around 10am in late October. There were about 10 guests waiting by the entrance(a good sign). We noticed locals and visitors were mingling with each other. A beeper was loan to us to prompt when our table is ready. The counter staff and servers were friendly, polite and VERY efficient. We loved the variety of food offered from their menu (also do check their specials on the blackboard). We're glad it didn't take too long for the food to arrive(as we already waited out in the cold for a bit). Finally, a warm hearty breakfast was served to us. The 30-40 mins wait for our party of 6 was definitely worth the wait. What a wonderful place, just as expected, great food and a warm friendly fantastic staff. The few extra minutes we waited to be seated was well worth it. The servings were plentiful, tasty and memorable. The hidden gem, homemade corned beef hash, was certainly top 3 of all time for me. The suggestion for the Monte Cristo was spot on as well... Clearly a local eatery well known by working class folks. Half the county's CMP lineman were here having breakfast! Anywhere the locals go is usually a great spot, and this is no exception. Short on ambiance, long on great food and good service. Staff were friendly and the 3 cheese omelet was served up fast and delicious. Orange juice was canned, oh well. We recently revisited Kopper Kettle after about a 5 year hiatus. I am so very glad my dad convinced me to try it again. We were very pleased with our whole experience. Service, food and prices. There is plenty of parking around the building, but keep in mind it does share parking with other businesses in the building. If there isn't a spot to park in within walking distance, there probably isn't room in the restaurant. CASH ONLY - just a heads up :) There is an ATM in the restaurant, if you happen to forget to head my warning...I forgot. Oops. The staff is all hands on, the servers are clearing tables, taking orders and serving food. Please be patient and smile, they are doing their best and are quite nice, they are just busy. Our server, was quick in checking in with us, but giving us time as needed. She took our order very carefully and returned with our beverages quickly. The order came out within 15-20 minutes. There was a bit of a mix up, and they didn't bring out the grilled muffin in advance of our meals, but they did own up to it and the muffin was worth the wait, it was delicious. The food was very fresh and bright flavors. The hollandaise definitely exceed my expectations. The portions were fantastic (see my pictures :) I saw many people walking out with take out containers. The menu is a little beyond basic :) You can check it out online, but ALSO, they are social media saavy~ Check out their daily specials via their Facebook page. We highly recommend this location for breakfast if you are in the general area - it is one of the best breakfast locations you can go to for made to order breakfast. As I've said many times, customer service can make or break an experience. Unfortunately for this establishment, the customer service very much broke this experience. Coming inside, I was no greeted. I bring this up, not because it was particularly a problem, but every guest after me was. I had to ask if I could sit at the counter, as it was just myself, as no one asked me where I'd like to sit while I stood at the sign that said "please wait to be seated." After sitting, I still waited a few to receive a menu, as the waitresses were more concerned chatting with others at the counter than anything else. Once I received my menu I was asked what I'd like to drink and I just asked for water. When she came back I mentioned what I'd like, and that was basically the last time she interacted with me. The glass the water came in also wasn't cleaned well, as I had a floaty, but to get any interaction with my waitress was pretty much impossible. The meal came quick, as it wasn't that busy when I arrived, but it was just slid to me without a word. She then spent her time talking to the others and having conversations with other guest who arrived. I had to make sure I didn't have a shirt on saying "don't talk to me leave me alone" as I wasn't sure why else I was receiving this kind of service. I would say please or thank you, no response. She did the very bare minimum with interacting with me as she possibly could. The food was not bad. The chocolate chip pancake was good. Crispy edges, soft interior, melted chocolate chips. The egg skillet with hash brown was pretty bland, though. Neither the eggs nor the hash browns were seasoned at all. Not once was I asked if I wanted a refill of water, as I was empty for a while, how my food was, if I wanted anything else, etc. Just a slip slid over the me without a word and that was it. I give this a 2 instead of a 1 only because the food wasn't that bad, but it was pricy. $21 for small egg skillet and a single pancake for one person. I wouldn't mind the prices if the service was even 50% better. I couldn't figure out why she was this way towards me, as every other customer who came after me she seemed to be very kind and attentive to. If you're a regular, I'm sure you love their place. As it seemed everyone else knew each other. If you're just looking for a place for breakfast, unfortunately isn't good enough to be worth your time. Between the decent enough food, high prices and pretty poor service, there are better options for breakfast in the local area to go to instead. read more

What a find! The Kopper Kettle is located on a small side street at a big intersection (does that make sense?) Came here about 11 am for a breakfast bite and was delighted not only at their prices but their selections and offerings. At the end of the pickings, I wasn't into any sweets so I got the regular eggs and toast for 3$ and added on the Kopper home fries for another 3$. Usually our bfast bill comes out around 20 but here it evened out at just under 14! Everything was delish although a bit greasy. Their place mats have word search games which are fun and they have ample seating. the waitstaff is attentive and available and everything was quick and timely. Def recommend! read more

Oh my gosh! I am obsessed with this place. We came here for breakfast our first morning in Maine after finding it on Yelp and that was the best decision! We even came back the next day lol! The restaurant has a small homey feel. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. Our server was the best and helped accommodate some our dietary restrictions. For food, we all ordered a few things, I got the Irish Benny which absolutely amazing. Everything was just so fresh and flavorful. They give such a big portion too-just wonderful. My next favorite is their French toast & you can choose between all their different homemade breads. We tried their Apple cinnamon bread french toast-just delightful! And how can I forgot about their blueberry pancakes like I am not even a fan of blueberries but I sure am a fan of Kopper Kettle's blueberry pancakes! The texture of the pancake was perfect and the blueberries were not overwhelming, the perfect ratio. To be quite honest all their dishes we had was great, there was not one thing I disliked. We were searching for diner, brunch food on our way back to New Orleans. Read the reviews and thought it was worth a shot. Seemed more Positive Pollys than Negative Nancys we're posting. WOW, was I ever glad I ignored the naysayers. The NN's need to go get an egg McMuffin and hush! We got there about 12:45, which was 15 minutes to close but they sat us anyway. I ordered the Irish Benedict with homemade hash (be sure to specify) and he ordered ham/cheese omelet, home fries and a HUGE blueberry muffin. My gosh, that Benedict is the best I've ever had and that's saying something coming from New Orleans. We're the brunch capital and have perfected eggs Benedict every way possible. The English muffin was incredible. I asked if it was homemade and surprisingly it was not. It was 100% as fresh as made right then. The hash was meaty with a perfect saltiness to it and the poached egg w/ hollandaise sauce was velvety and perfectly prepared. His blueberry muffin was moist and full of berries. He's a New England native and was very impressed with it. His omelette was lumberjack breakfast huge and home fries perfectly cooked. Soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Now about the service. They were crazy busy but effortlessly held all the customers, food, bussing, checks together. And they were all very kind. The stack of paid tickets was proof we made the right decision by stopping here. I have every intention of stopping here again on our annual Maine vacation. This restaurant is not much of a looker when you pull up and walk inside but the food hits the mark so don't be deceived. Our breakfasts came out quickly and were very good, sausage gravy was homemade over huge homemade biscuits. Raisin swirl toast was also homemade and served in 1 inch thick slices.
