    Cheesy grit loaf
    John B.

This bakery wasn't huge, but the selection of both loaves and pastries was intriguing. A few other local products dotted the shelves. They were not speedy and there was a line, but that did give me time to eye the various options. Their cookies were impressive, and I noted a little girl asking her mother for a garam masala cookie to some disagreement. I bought one and it was well-received; the more conventional chocolate and salted chocolate chip cookies were also delicious. Progressively better were my bear claw dusted with brown sugar and filled with an indescribable fruity mixture, and my cheesy grit loaf, which was every bit as savory as it sounds. The selection was definitely worth driving up from downtown.

We love this place! After driving by it for a year decided to give it a try. Wow! Great service, amazing breakfast sandwiches, and wonderful hot coffee. But wait, there's more! The shop has a nice selection of local vendors represented, from candles to honey to ceramic coffee mugs. Love supporting local businesses. We have already been back twice. Well done Bread and Butter! Highly recommend.

Not Quite White & Cranberry Walnut Bread

Great little place located just outside of the Chattanooga metropolitan area in Red Banks. A little bit out the way, but worth it, as I was looking specifically for sour dough bread not made with enriched flour. Bread & Butter being one of the few places around that fit that criteria. Lots of goodies throughout the store which tempted me greatly. But I stuck to the plan to only purchase bread (except for the cookie - I HAD to have at least a cookie)! Got my loaves home and tried the Cranberry Walnut first thing. Soooo Delish -- Nutty, crunchy, sweet, crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. Not Quite White (which is actually sourdough) equally good. Service was also acceptable. I would have provided 5 stars, but the prices are astronomical. Nevertheless, I will return as they have just what I need!

100% obsessed with this neighborhood bakery. You can get anything in the counter and your mind will be blown. They make fresh focaccia daily and it's always different but never disappoints! Almond coconut muffins are sleeper amazing. Bread Ans sandwiches to die for and of course all pastries are so good we make multiple trips weekly. 10/10.

Of course I'm local! This is my very favorite small bakery in town. Best ham sandwich in town! Best pecan sandies and f all time. Alfresco lunch, no inside seating but who needs it on such a gorgeous day!?

Salted double chocolate chip and pecan sandie...not their official names

Always wanted to stop in here when I'm in the Red Bank area, so I finally did it! It was near their closing time, but they still had some goodies left in the cookie jars! There is a sign on the door that asks for only 1 party at a time inside the store, so they are definitely taking COVID precautions. Since I was only looking for a sample, I chose two individual cookies to try. The salted chocolate chip cookie (it was large) was recommended and I also selected the pecan sandie - because I love a buttery shortbread cookie! Both were delicious but that chocolate chip cookie...{insert fireworks, music, and unicorns}. I also picked up a sampler baggie for my sons - it had one of each cookie in it, about 5 cookies total. Although I did not try any of the others - because they ate them within 5 minutes of bringing them home - my youngest thought the Garam Masala ginger snap was really interesting and it had a kick to it. This place is not far off US 27, Morrison Spring Rd exit, worth a try!

I was waiting to go get a massage and stumbled upon the sweet little place. I had a salted chocolate chip cookie and it was amazing. They had a ton of cute local goods for sale as well. Highly recommend.

Omg! What a delicious treat... I'm so happy my friend scooped me up and brought me here with her! This bread... delicious, I think I said that already. This little shop definitely has it going on! The French baguette is delicious! (It didn't eve last 30 minutes). They have coffee, hot chocolate, tea and other beverages. They have a coffee fixing stand but no tables inside to hangout. They do have two (2) tables outside but during the cold weather you definitely won't want to be outside. They offer dog treats and they have a fridge with different stuff. They also offer day old specials and let me tell you, they still taste fresh. I'm sad they are not in Nashville but I would definitely BOLO for my friend when she goes back to either go with or ask to bring me some goodies.

    Latin Pocket, cut in half
    Sara L.

When the first snow apocalypse caused a meeting delay this morning but only dusted the roads, I made a quick trip to Bread and Butter to try a new morning treat. I was not disappointed. The almond croissant I picked up was the biggest I've ever seen and fresh deliciousness! A cup of Velo coffee complimented it. I also picked up what's called a "latin pocket" to try for lunch. It's plantains, black beans, queso fresco, and rice cooked evenly inside rolled over artisan baked dough. Tasty. Go Red Bank!

Love the paper bags and logo stamp on the products!

The wife,…read moreAnna, stated "if you want a good cup of coffee and an excellent pastry, this is your morning stop!" Even a little after 10am on a Saturday, you can tell this place is a very popular hangout. I waited in line for about 10 minutes, but the line moves fast. I concur with other reviewers that the staff is so friendly, helpful and energetic. I ordered a Cafe Au Lait with a shot of caramel syrup. Once I looked at the pastry items, I knew the Blueberry Lavender scone had my name all over it! I sat outside on a sidewalk bistro table and enjoyed both items immensely on a gorgeous Chattanooga morning. This place also has inside seating as well as a nice patio setup. So happy I got to experience this place! (P.S. The line is still out the door when I left!) :)

We didn't know and went straight to outdoor seating, which worked out because we got a table and about a minute later we figured out the ordering process. I ordered the chicken salad croissant for my wife, then the California club for myself and then I had to order quiche Lorraine for the table. I had filtered tap water for my drink and my wife had a can of Diet Coke with a slice of lemon and ice in a cup, provided. Service was pretty quick, between our order placement and table delivery it was 7 minutes. The quiche was custardy inside with a delicious hint of caramelized shallots to go with the bacon and cheese/egg filling. The bacon did not overwhelm. The crust was perfectly baked and a nice flakey crust. The accompanying arugula and onion salad dresses with oil and vinegar and seasonings was an excellent pairing of freshness with the richer quiche. This is a big hit, as expected when advertised on the menu as "available until sold out." The California Club was on 6 grain toasted bread with an avocado spread and aioli, bacon, turkey, tomato and lettuce. I really liked the balance of each component in this sandwich, such that nothing dominated the flavors and each distinctive was individually identifiable in the contribution to the whole sandwich. The portion was just right. The chicken salad was also good, but was the bronze medal winner compared to the other two. The croissant was flaky, but not too much. The chicken salad had just a hint of lemon and was not overwhelmed with aioli, just the right balance. This was a fantastic meal. We liked this so much, we chose to buy two loaves of bread to go, a Chattanooga Sourdough and a garlic Parmesan and also a 5 lb bag of in house ground bread flour. I need one of these in Greenville, SC, my hometown. Last thing to note, you bus your own table and there is a dish basin nearby the outside dining area in which to place your dishes. This was an excellent lunch spot. The staff were also friendly and patiently helpful. This is a must visit spot when visiting or living in Chattanooga!

I also asked for another blanket to sleep with and the maid states " now I have to goto the other building for that". Later that day I turned on the shower, the shower knob was stuck on all hot, and could not even take a three minute shower. The actual room had a small television in the wall, behind the television was a curtain. I moved the curtain back to find a huge hole on the wall (where and old tv was filled with dust). It was getting late and I was also tired of walking around the city, so I wanted to find a place that I could drive to easily that would have accessible, free parking, and that was still open -- many bakecafes had already closed. A quick Yelp search revealed this place as a great option! I scooted on over and walked inside. Very friendly staff members, super welcoming. The place was clean and smelled AMAZING! No real seating inside but that's okay. They have a cooling drawer and a room temp drawer depending on the need of the pie. I'd say mostly dessert pies are available but they also have a nice selection of quiches and pot pies. Flavors/varieties rotate depending on the day. They'd sold out of a few varieties when I arrived, but I was still able to get plenty of yumminess. They have a deal for four pies at a reduced cost so that's what I got! All pies are individual though you can preorder larger pies if you need one. Since I had the ~2 hour drive back home, I of course had to opt for non-refrigerated options. I wound up with a lemon blueberry chess pie, a chocolate bourbon pecan pie, a regular pecan pie, and a chocolate chess pie. Seriously, they were all delicious! Somewhat surprisingly, I'd say my favorite was the regular pecan pie. Don't get me wrong, pecan pie is a beloved pie of mine...just thought it would go to something with chocolate. But the amount of sweetness, the ratio of gooey inside to nutty outside...just so good! Each pie had a delightfully buttery, flaky crust. You really can tell the difference -- they're the real deal. Hubs and I split a mini pie each night for four nights and the quality really didn't suffer! I'd say they're the perfect size to split, though I'm sure I also could've devoured a whole one if left unattended, lol. Would love to try more flavors in the future. If you're in the area, give them a visit!

Since it was our first visit and everything on the menu spoke to us, she helped steer us in the right direction. I ended up ordering the pistachio croissant, and honestly... I'd go back for that alone. It was warm, huge by croissant standards, and absolutely heavenly. I even grabbed another one to take home because Future Me deserved a little happiness too. We also tried the raspberry lemon danish, which was a delicious combo, but the pistachio croissant stole the show without breaking a sweat. We started with the poutine, and while it wasn't the traditional version I've had before, it was incredible. Instead of cheese curds blocks, it came with pulled pork and melted cheese, and somehow it just worked. Comfort food with a little Southern flair. For breakfast, we had the ham and cheese omelet with breakfast potatoes. It was exactly what you want it to be--classic, satisfying, and impossible to regret if that's your usual order. I also tried the Liquid Gold juice. Their juice selection is impressive, but I may have accidentally found my forever order on the first try. It was so refreshing, with just a hint of ginger. For a hot drink, I highly recommend the London fog. I'm not usually a tea fan but if you don't want coffee, this is an excellent option. Before we left, we picked up some of their salted caramels to go, and they make the perfect little gift... assuming you have enough self-control not to eat them all in the car. The vibe here is upscale southern diner. One of the signs on the wall said, "All are welcome, but you need to act right," and honestly, that's the kind of life advice we could all use. I also really appreciated that parking was free. In Chattanooga these days it's hard finding a place where you don't have to scan a QR code, download an app, and pay to park just to eat. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Milk & Honey is absolutely worth a visit...and if you're debating the pistachio croissant, stop debating and just order it. Your only regret will be not getting a second one.
