We went there today not exactly knowing what we were hungry for. It was already after 1 PM. The place was packed today when we got there. We opted for a corner table. I ended up having breakfast, which consisted of a Greek omlet with spinach, black olives and feta cheese. I had rye toast, home fries and coffee. Delicious. My partner had a Swiss patty melt with a side of thin onion rings. We both had coffee today. I have never eaten here where the food was not top notch. Unfortunately for us, we could have had their prime rib, if it was after 4 PM, but we were early. The menu is extensive and all I can say is that there is something on there for everyone, no matter what you like to eat. It has always been a soft spot in my heart because the owner is awesome and his workers are fantastic. I will add a picture of my breakfast (of course after I had started eating it!). We moved to the area and we have tried this place twice for breakfast and twice I was extremely hungover. They don't serve any alcohol so no hair of the dog for me lol The service is usually pretty slow but that's because the staff is mostly teenage girls, which are probably tik toking and shit in the back. Love this place! Food is always served hot and fresh. Servers are wonderful-- one in particular remembered our order entirely for a party of 16, with changes such as last minute add-ons like Swiss vs cheddar cheese etc. Since COVID, there is more space between tables without it feeling cavernous. I was excited to see what all the hype was for this restaurant and decided to grab breakfast. The waitress was very nice when we walked in. The place was extremely busy and loud which gave me good vibes. I ordered my food to go and loved that I could scan the QR code and pay from my phone. Wait time wasn't long which was good. The issue I had was my order was not all there and I had to go back to grab hash browns and cream cheese. Luckily for me I don't live too far but a little frustrated. I ordered the Eric's breakfast. It was okay but definitely not covered in cheese as the cheese was burnt and a little surprise of a piece of pancake in it which is not included LOL. My friend ordered the pastrami and Swiss omelet which was very good only issue was that they gave home the end of the loaf of bread for his toast. Awesome little spot for weekend breakfast! After discovering this one morning when in town for a tournament, it became our go-to spot in this area. There's a huge menu to pick from, and we've tried a few of their specialties: Regular burger, bazinga burger, chili, tuna melt, and cinnamon swirl pancakes. The standout for me is the cinnamon swirl pancake -- the genius addition of a sticky cinnamon swirl ribbon gets all caramelized as the pancake cooks. It's fantastic. There are still plenty of COVID precautions in place, such as plexiglass and well-distanced tables, which I love! The staff all seem really kind and helpful, laughing through some slightly-odd requests like single bananas and sides of hot dogs. Definitely stop by if you're in the area! read more

Don't ever judge a book by its cover. From the outside, this looks like a restaurant that has been converted from a drugstore. In fact I think it might have been. But inside it's another world. Nothing fancy but comfortable big booths and tables. Friendly waitstaff surpasses your expectations, and food that's out of this world! I had a piece of haddock that took up an entire plate--it was huge! See picture. I tried the strawberry shortcake too. It was very good! Do yourself a favor, if you're in Lancaster. My husband and I moved to the area last summer and kept meaning to try Sandee's, but weren't completely sold on the idea of takeout breakfast. Today was finally the day! I ordered cinnamon roll pancakes (which were incredible and didn't even need syrup- also the short stack was way more than enough, complete with two plate-sized pancakes) and a side of bacon (which was perfectly cooked- not the thin, soggy, flavorless bacon that often comes with restaurant breakfast). My husband went with the Irish eggs benedict on an English muffin with a side of the Cajun home fries and ate every single bite. We were thrilled with our breakfast and how fresh it was, even with takeout! It was still so hot that I couldn't keep the bag on my lap for the drive home! I go there often. Every time you know what to expect.. Good food and better service. Regardless of how busy they are, the wait staff manages to pay utmost attention to all of their patrons keeping them satisfied. The prices are reasonable, and the specials are plentiful. It is nice to know that you can go in and have something that you'll enjoy on the varied specials menu. We have dined in with our young kiddos a couple of times and enjoyed everything we have ordered in house. With this whole Covid-19 situation and them only able to do delivery/take out we opted to do delivery. It came right on time and the delivery person was very nice. The food, however, was mediocre at best. The clam chowder was light brown like gravy and not good.. the clam strips were rubbery and definitely the same brand friendly uses from the freezer. The fish and chips was fresh but still not great. We were disappointed and wishing we spent the few extra bucks for pick up somewhere else. read more

Came back, and ate really good food, for really cheap, again. They have renovated, but it's still really basic inside. My inner Martha Stuart got to thinking how they could rearrange things, and make it more homey. They have added a juke box, and an ice cream bar. I first came here with my dad, who prefers this diner to Michaels, which is a few hundred yards down the street. It seems to get overlooked compared to michaels, so I wanted to give them a try... While the atmosphere and ambiance is not as fully developed as Michaels, I do think the food is better! The prices are also lower, partly due, I'm sure, to supply and demand and the much lower overheard this establishment enjoys. I am also impressed with their service. At micheals, you need to know the son of God to get a second cup of coffee. Here, they are constantly re-filling your cup, and catering to your needs. That's big for me. We pay a premium to eat out specifically for these services, so they should be attentive. One more thing: I've never had to wait here. At michaels, it's not uncommon to wait in a line longer than waiting for the "space mountain" ride. The restaurant is also set up with fairly open areaS, so that everyone waiting leers at you, and is constantly watching and scrutinizing your every move as they wait for a table. That's not enjoyable. Overall, I like Sandee's, and this is my new "go-to" breakfast place in this area. read more

After reading some mixed reviews we decide to take a risk and give our regular breakfast place a rest, and mix it up with a little Sandee's action. One thing that I've come to realize it that the "greasy spoon breakfast place" category is the harshest judged type of restaurant on yelp. People want there food fast, cheap, and everyone has their own issues on how their Favorite breakfast item should be done, and god forbid it's not the same twice. Also the fact the critic hasn't had their morning coffee or / and is hung over may be part of the harsh reviews. That being said, I have been here three times so far, and each time the foods been great. It's always busy but the food comes our fast enough. They're always spot on with my eggs. I get them over medium, so many place under cook them and that's just not cool. Home fries vary from great to very good. That combined with the fact that the two of us walk out of there for under $20 bucks make this place a winner in my book. read more

I had lunch here today. I had the chili, onions, jalapeños, and cheese over homefries breakfast special. It good, it was tasty, it was filling. And so was the second half of it that I brought home for dinner. Service was quick, polite, and very pretty. Terrible breakfast AND service. My waitress was watching TV before I was served. After a few minutes I ordered a ham and cheese omelet. She brought the coffee ok. She returned to watching TV.. another waitress came over to refill my cup. When my order arrived it was completely WRONG! It was sausage peppers gravy and cheese. Sent it back she went back to watching tv. When I received the order this time the home fries were burnt the ham was dry( deli style ham slices) the eggs seemed like powder!!! Took my family out to breakfast and they decided on this place. Now, they had been here before and really enjoyed the food. However, due to terrible service I was never able to try the food, and will never return. My family and I arrived at Sandee's on a Sunday around 11:40 am. When we arrived, the place was not very busy. I had a party of six, and we entered the place. The place is pretty spread out - it is just one big room with benches around the outside, tables in the middle, and a small bar area in the front. It looked pretty clean and nice. Unfortunately, there was only 1 table for a party of 5 or more. Since the place was half full (or less), we asked if we could move two tables together. However, we were told that no tables could be moved together on Sunday. They said that my family would have to split up and not sit together. At this point, the rest of my family left, but I asked to speak with a manager and/or owner. I finally was directed to the "managing" waitress/girl who said that they were not allowed to put tables together due to the fire code - there has to be a certain amount of space and access area. Now, this would have been an adequate response...had it been the truth. I have a legal education and work for the administration department for another company. I am very comfortable with working with fire codes - a building to building inspection. Never in my life have I heard that there was a fire code law for a building on SUNDAY ONLY. Furthermore, there was so much open space that I highly doubt there was a fire code issue. I mean, there was 2 short tables by the 1 long table and we were going to push those 2 short tables together. If 1 long table was already allowed in the area, it should be fine. Even if not, the other side of the room surely could have had 1 long table. In a time with an economy so bad, I find it really hard that a business would be turning away people - especially a party of 6...that is a lot of $ and tips. Moreover, they did not even ask us if we wanted to wait or give us any type of reassurance. I would have thought at the very least they would have said "Well we only have 1 table to accommodate you which is full right now, but if you wouldn't mind waiting we will get you in ASAP." There was none of that. The more I think about it, the service was just RUDE. So while the food there may or may not be good, this message is an FYI for any party of 5+. read more

Sandee's has great food! Portions are nice and big - I haven't ordered anything that I don't like yet. The only complaint is the ambiance... there is none. It is one big room which is loud and echo-y, certainly could work on that a bit. However, for the food and the prices, this is a good spot! read more
