I went to The Old Mill Pub Restaurant tonight and the service and food was horrible. We were waiting for a friend to join us and waited over 18 minutes waitress never acknowledge are guest she had to go to the bar to get us all drinks cause waitress never came over. Ordered dinner which took forever food was allncold burgers were suppose to be well done came out rare. No ketchup was given to us. My husband ordered onion ring with meal french fries came out instead. Another waitress said she would grab onion rings brought after he was done with his meal. Waitress never checked on is for more drinks. Horrible service and all food served at our table was cold!!! read more

I started coming here about 7 years ago off of a friend's recommendation. This is my go-to restaurant in the area, and I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal. Everything I've ever ordered has been good. The kitchen is really good, and the staff are awesome. Never had a bad server either! I definitely recommend the pulled pork nachos, and I am partial to their chicken parm and burgers- but honestly, everything I've tried has been great. Took my family of 14 for Christmas 2022, and they set us up with a private room. Service was good- food was awesome. Everyone had a great time! I'm surprised to see The Mill has such a high rating as most people in the area that I know don't come here due to the fact the food sucks. Its a mixed crowd who likes to drink and play Keno for the most part. It's generally a busy place. I can see coming here for drinks, but not the food. Just wow, no words but those for how awesome this spot is! My cousin and I came here for dinner on Saturday night and enjoyed not only the food, but the service and entertainment as well. They had a live band playing pop hits from the 70s until now. Both male and female singers were amazing--their voices were powerful and soothing. It complimented the entire environment and made it easy to just sit around, listen, and have a drink. And this is just what my cousin and I did. We ordered a sangria and a martini. My red sangria was amazing and it filled with chunks of fruit! The waitress also gave me a little extra. Speaking of our waitress, she was so friendly and was able to recommend several items on the menu. I ended up ordering the nachos to share with my cousin. The nachos were very large and covered with three types of sprinkled chesses, chunks of tomatoes, chili with beans, jalapenos, and sour cream on the side. I am so glad that my cousin and I split the nachos, there is no way that I could have finished it by myself! Overall the mill is a cool and laid back local spot. We love the Penne Alla Vodka so much, that we bought two family style half pans just so we would have left overs for a couple days! I had never been to the restaurant before last night, so I took my wife (for her birthday) and 9 other family members ranging from 1 year to 77 years old. What a wonderful surprise we were in for. Easy access, easy parking, a very neat and clean facility. The welcoming staff were very welcoming and friendly, and our server - Erin - was simply out of this world. Friendly, huge smile, organized, and completely able to handle our motley crew. No person in our party was missed, no meal was incorrect, and if she had more coming out than she could carry she had other staff ready to go. Unlike most places, the food was fresh and very hot. She kept checking us all night long like we were the owners and has a great sense of humor. Erin and The Mill are both 5 star, and we will certainly be back many more times. Kind of a dark and quiet little place. Seemed to be the place for a drink when you are hiding from someone and want to play Keno. I had a Superfood wrap which is really Jack Fruit and a side salad. Always loved The Mill 185. Never had a bad meal or bad service. This time was a bit different. My clam chowder arrived lukewarm. Even though I opted to eat it anyway, and finished half of it, the waitress took it back and brought me a new steaming cup, which was delicious. My salmon main dish arrived and the garlic mashed potatoes were stone cold. Seems as though anything cooked in bulk tonight had a problem staying hot. We tracked down staff who immediately brought me a large platter of mashed potatoes - enough to feed a family of four! We were also offered a free dessert which we chose the Creme Brûlée. I have had this here in the past and it was better than I had eaten elsewhere. This time it was extra firm and dry, not creamy like it should be. I showed Leeann, the waitress, who agreed it didn't look like what she had eaten here herself. She said she would share what I left in the dish with the chef. Even with the food issues, I am scoring this experience a 5. 50% of a meal is the service, and the service that we had tonight was probably in my top 2%. I will definitely be back again. Previously, the main reason The Mill didn't get 5 stars, was because it was in West Boylston, and well... West Boylston is not a standard bearer for good restaurants. Great school system. Top notch utility companies. Cuisine? enh... Well, I've been frequenting The Mill and am now confident that you could drop this restaurant anywhere, and it would be a hit. It has the main ingredients of any good restaurant nailed. Great, friendly, professional staff, and tasty, filling, food at a good value. The menu boasts, and -nails- Italian-American Comfort Food. I've sampled most of the menu at one time or another, and have yet to have a complaint. Pastas? Great. Salads? Huge, and also great. Comfort food? ala, meatloaf, shepard's pie, and the like... all great. I specialize in the burgers, and the wings, as I tend to go here during football or hockey games. The burger is big without being obscene. I would guess they use a mix of 93/7 and 85/15 ground beef, but that's just a guess. I'll ask and update next time. It's flavorful without being messy, well contained in the bun, and the various interpretations are all solid. I would say that the menu could use a chili burger, but here is the great thing about The Mill. If I asked for a chili burger, I would get a chili burger. The restaurant is run by actual humans! Like, ones that want you to be happy with what you eat. They listen, and if possible, accomodate your request. Novel concept these days at some places. EDIT: I actually did ask for a chili burger on a recent trip just to make sure I wasn't making stuff up and the response was, and I quote, "Absolutely! That sounds delicious! How do you want that cooked?" Boy do I like this place. On to useful information: 4p-6p bar menu. Yum. ATM in the back. Clean restrooms. 25 cent wings on Sun/Mon (I feel bad when I'm at the bar for almost 2 hours, ordered three times, and still have a tab under 20 bucks) Keno. Oh Keno. How I loathe you. I want my money back. Go, and sit around, near, or at the bar if you don't have kids. Wrangling the midgets is easier in one of the satellite rooms though. read more

My husband and I have been here twice. Smoked salmon caesar salad, cheeseburger/fries & the sunday special smoked turkey dinner were all pretty good. If you like salads, you will enjoy their selection. The turkey was simply awesome. We have been waiting for a long time for a local restaurant to serve good, quality food & it appears to be here. We hope that it will last. One note: there was a strong odor, almost like carpet cleaner, when we first visited Memorial day weekend but it wasn't there last night when we revisited. I GUARANTEE you that he'll help you out. The Mill CARES about customers. If you are skeptical in mind and want to know what's good to order before going, please read the following. I would like to first talk about the desserts, for they are truly incredible for their prices: (1)Creme Brulee - perhaps the CHEAPEST BUT MOST DELICIOUS Creme Brulee I've ever had. It's the ULTRA THIN CRISPY CARAMEL that counts (SEE UPLOADED PICTURE. I AM NOT LYING)!!! Inside is smooth, rich sweet cream with good egg flavors. (2)Chocolate Cake - this is for those who wants more chocolate than cake, especially RICH & THICK chocolate. Then you'll love this! (3)Cinnamon Apple Fried Dough with Ice-Cream - enough said. Currently, I would highly recommend the following entrees: (1) Lasagna - not your everyday lasagna - American BBQ infused Italian lasagna. My 1st impression was "BIG", 2nd impression "It smells like good BBQ", the taste is what a good American Lasagna should be - lightly burnt cheesy top with generous and creamy meaty layers between pasta - truly a delightful Americanized-Italian dish. (2) Porcini Mushrooms Ravioli - nice Al Dente!!! Every bite is chewy and flavorful, and wonderful mushroom cream aromas, (3) Apple Chutney Pork Chops - I was afraid it'd be tough and dry, but on the contrary, it was perfectly done - thoroughly cooked but still tender, the apple and cinnamon really gave it some good fruitiness and acidity, nice finishing touch. (4) Smoked Prime Rib - Sold out every Wed - get it if you have the chance - enough said. (5) All burgers are awesome - tender and juicy. These days, I still enjoy the Mussels in Bianco Sauce and Fried Mozzarella (tablets) a lot when I want a smaller bite than an entree. The Penne Vodka is also done RIGHT. I now rate The Mill for 5 stars NOT because every item on the menu is perfected (It still has much room for improvement). Chicken piccata was super bland and really gross. Meatloaf sandwich was so much worse. Also smells horrible, like stale tobacco, lottery tickets, and broken dreams. I've come here twice and boy, did I wish I hadn't. They push the beers to cloud your palette and force the "drunchies" so that their slimy shit slides down your gullet. Walked in to the Howard Johnson-turned-restaurant (nice try, I see through it) & we were the only patrons. Granted it was early, about 5:15. Still made me nervous. But during our time at The Mill, I just couldn't get past the swanky lounge feel. It didn't help that they were playing cheesy music from the 80's & 90's. This is a pub-like restaurant with an enormous menu. The staff is super friendly and the service is super fast. I ordered the clam chowder, pulled pork dinner and strawberry shortcake. The chowder was hot and thick and just a touch salty. The pulled pork was flavorful, but a little dry. The cole slaw was good but the beans lacked flavor. The strawberry shortcake was the star of this meal. It was a Large portion and both my date and I ate every bite. I also orders a white sangria and really enjoyed it. My date got the meatloaf, but unfortunately did not like it. I tried it and didn't enjoy it either. The flavor was unusual and had a strange consistency. The menu is large-- something for everyone-- the service is quick and friendly and the prices are really reasonable. We will try this place again in the hopes of having better luck. read more

This place is way beyond the typical areas Run-of-the-"MILL" Restaurant and would have garnered five stars but for the unclean table we sat at and the elevated noise level. To be fair, however, it was a large birthday party of Greek patrons that seemed to have taxed the system. Yet even through all that the staff graced the establishment with friendly great service and eats. Pauli, our server, was fast, friendly, and very efficient. Even the kitchen, quick with the meals, was beyond belief. Our meals were out within 10 minutes of the ordering and they were way out-of-this-world (meaning quality way beyond what you would expect in this greater Worcester area)! Smoked salmon with garlic-mashed potatoes and asparagus: YUM! And the steak tips melted in the mouth! WOW! And to add to the experience: the "rich and famous" have been known to stop in from time to time to dine and drink. Haven't been here for years but figured we'd stop by for lunch while running errands with my wife. The food and service were great. The atmosphere was nice....soft lighting, plenty of TVS and not noisy. My only complaint was the strange odor that hit you in the face when you walked in. Not sure if it was dirty bathrooms or what, we couldn't place it. After a while though we seemed to notice less. We will try it again though because the food was that good. read more
