I had previously given this place a very good review. I enjoyed some really tasty breads, pastries, and meals here. Then, I went here on a Saturday morning shortly after they opened. I spent about 15.00 on some muffins and some bread. I brought them home, and no one in my family could swallow a bite. The place also didn't have much selection. It's a bakery yet only had three different types of cupcakes and not much else for other treats. Yummy... My bfs fam has gone here for years to get loafs of bread and wow, the bread is sooooo darn tasty! I try to stay away from bread because of all the carbs but wow it was really good. We usually get one with olive oil and one without and both are very good. Usually whenever I come in here it is just for a quick visit so I have yet to try the delicious looking pastries and sandwiches. However I did grab a quick cookie from here and wow it was so good. The best over the counter anti depressant sold here. I called this shop from California because a friend had taken her son to college and was brokenhearted saying goodbye to him. I asked them to send something amazing and decadent that would make her happy. They delivered an unbelievable assortment of baked heaven to her hotel. She sent me picture of beautiful handmade brownies, cupcakes, goodies with strawberries and so much more. It was better than I had ever imagined. She was so excited. Went to this restaurant with a friend. She requested a tuna sandwich which stated "add lettuce, tomatoes, onions, salt and pepper at no charge." The tuna sandwich came with already onions mixed in. Since my friend can't eat raw onions, she asked for a remake. The owner/staff were down right rude and refused to remake or refund her the money even when the menu description was written inaccurately. I even went up to try to speak with the staff and was confronted in the same disrespectful manner. They would not listen and just talked right over you. To say the least we just left. This place is cute, everything looked really good, but I haven't been back since. It's just not in a convenient location to my every day life, so I honestly forget it even exists. Let me start by saying the place doesn't look like much. From a claustrophobic parking lot you enter on the side of an uninspiring edifice and step into a space that is...well, at least it's clean. You then question whether Yelp has gotten it wrong as you peruse what is really a very limited menu, only to be rewarded for sticking it out with a fresh, delicious, reasonably priced breakfast sandwich. After the horrible way i was treated today i will never return to this establishment...i was the first customer of the day..entering i noticed that the cases were almost empty except for a few muffins..i asked the woman who let me in the door if the muffins were baked today..she hesitated very noticably and then said yes...right away i knew she was lying..but i asked for one anyway,while she was getting a cup of coffee for me i felt the bag she put the muffin in..stone cold and hard even through the bag, i opened the bag and squeezed the muffin touching only the wrapper..it was hard as a rock..when the woman turned and noticed me checking the bag i told her that i changed my mind and didnt want the muffin after all..she told me i had touched the muffin basically implying that she expected me to pay for it....i told her that yes, i did touch it and it was hard,definitely not baked that day. .i told her to forget about the coffee also and left..thanking her for her time.. I have been sold stale items here before and just wanted to know if i was getting a fresh muffin since i was bringing it to a friend at work as a treat for doing me a favor..i did not want to be embarrassed by giving her a day old muffin...never again will i go to this place...inexcusable treatment and sad that they try to pass off their day old items on unsuspecting and infrequent customers. As i was leaving i saw a tray of fresh muffins on the counter...it was obvious that the ones in the case were from the day before. I got in my car and drove to whitney donut shop and got a freshly baked muffin for my friend who said it was delicious. We live in the neighborhood and spend a lot of time here. We can walk from our house, my 2 year old loves their scones (and everyone that works here) and I would kill for a cup of their coffee. They are unfailingly kind to us and over time have become a solid part of our lives. We get lunch there on a fairly regular basis, I love the variety of their specials and since it's always made to order, they will custom make anything on their menu OR suggest something that might better suit your taste. They have recently started offering great quality vegan pastry. I've always found the place to be very clean and they have recently renovated, expanded the dining area, and put in a family style dining table to accommodate the large groups that seem to meet there. When I pointed out the order was wrong, I was told it was my fault because I couldn't make up my mind.
