There wasn't a good balence in service. Either I wasn't tended to or when I was it was like over compensating. While sitting at the bar they favorited certain people. For the food the fried provolone was tasty despite not looking appealing. The house garlic bread was really nice. The spicy pasta was just ok. Lacked depth of flavor. Steak was most disappointing part of the meal. Was tough had no real flavor clearly relying on the sauces. The roasted potatoes were not good. Overly sauced and not crispy. The mushrooms were just ok nothing special.

Kansas and New York cut steaks cooked medium and medium rare with chimmichurri and the Gorgonzola sauce

Went for Valentine's Day. A nice vibe to the restaurant. Our waiter was so sweet and attentive. I wish I could remember his name I know he had dimples ! Our food was amazing. We tried the octopus for an appetizer, wow !!! We both did steaks (Kansas/NY cut). Again amazing and cooked to perfection. We finished off with a fudge cake with gelato (I think). Amazing !!!! We might make this our go-to spot as we are local to the area. Recommend this place !

Wish I could rate this higher, perhaps they will work out the kinks in time. We sat at the lovely outdoor bar, and you could tell the staff were overwhelmed. The kitchen was backed up and the food was slow. We ordered the house salad and a pasta to start. The salad said it had candied walnuts, but came with regular walnuts (it was one of the reasons we got it, so a bit disappointing). The pasta never arrived - our bartender said initially, it was coming, just a little behind. 60 minutes later he comes by to apologize and say "they ran out of pasta" (that is a first - who runs out of non-homemade pasta). We also ordered the bone in rib eye, with carrots and fries as the sides. Took 90 minutes to get it, but the steak was cooked perfectly (my only gripe is they put a bunch of garlic on the steak - should just be salt, maybe pepper). The brought the fries, but never brought the carrots. I'm sure I could have asked for them to fix it - but again, they were overwhelmed, so I let it slide. All in - there's potential here, they just need better management/organization (and no garlic on steak).

Steak was perfectly cooked at a medium rare temp for Ribeye and medium for Filet. Mashed were 3/5, carrots were 4/5, garlic spinach 3/5, and mushroom onions 4/5. Employees were very nice and accommodating for how busy they were. The ambiance was very nice, bar area was packed. Parking was ok considering the snow. Will return.

As a girl's night tradition, my friends and I look to find a new restaurant to try, and Salvatore's Steakhouse did not disappoint. The location does lend itself to some tricky parking; however, after having already parked, I was informed the lot in the back has spots for customers. The restaurant interior was beautifully decorated with ample and comfortable seating. The menu offers a large selection of drinks and food choices. All the entrees (including steak dishes!) came with the choice of two sides. I ordered the American lamb loin chops with a side of wild mushroom sauté and spinach with parmesan pesto. The loin chops were 3 5oz portions, cooked to the perfect temperature, and each packed with flavor and not much fat. The sides were a generous portion, resulting in the need to take some leftovers of my meal. My friends had ordered the steak and fish and were also happy and satisfied with their meals. I look forward to returning to Salvatore's and would highly recommend!

Lamb chops with mashed potato and asparagus

What a great meal ,lamb chops were superb, the house salad was a meal in its own and great salad dressing My wife had the seafood casserole, another great meal My brother in-law had the Kansas City Strip, perfectly cooked and tender Great restaurant and service was top notch Will go back when the patio is finished The only thing is it's a bit noisy and need to add some decorative noise panels This was a Wed and place was packed so make reservations you will be very happy and full with enough for dinner the next night

10oz Filet, Sautéed mushrooms and mashed potato.

ALERT: New Steak House. Great atmosphere. Food is unbelievable and reasonable. It must be 2018. Local vibe. Family owned. Check it out.

Just when we thought it couldn't get any better than the first time we went , and it was even better and why you ask ? Because the menu had some different things ( as if it wasn't one of the Best steakhouse menus already ) haha . So we found out they try to change it monthly wow , love that concept So with that I had to try the "Wellington " now this was a pork not a beef and all I can say is if you're lucky enough to go when it's on the menu , get it . Oh my goodness, tender and perfect pastry crust . Everything was Delicious and the service this time by Heather was beyond exceptional. Courtesy and attentive to all her patrons . Made some nice cocktails and was so appreciative. What a lovely soul The whole staff is so welcoming Highly recommend this restaurant it's a very relaxed atmosphere and the steaks are pretty good and trust me we've been to many steakhouses / restaurants. They're holding there own

First off...I can't eat red meat, digestive issues, but I would sacrifice the pain and discomfort after seeing what neighboring tables had ordered. We did not have a reservation but took a chance to see if we could sit at the bar. Bar was packed but the hostess made quick arrangements and seated us in the dining room. That's how you run a restaurant! I'm super impressed with the professionalism and hospitality right off the clip. Upon entering, the space was totally gutted from its previous tenant and transformed into this stunning modern Italian steakhouse. Beautiful Job! Waitstaff were engaging and polite. Food came out promptly and hot. I started with the risotto balls. Fried to perfection. Good size to fill up on. Moved on to the Panzanilla salad. Again, good portion size. This will be a great item for outdoor dining during the summer. My son got the fried provolone which he enjoyed and an entree of chicken thighs that were so damn juicy. They have fresh pasta courses that can be ordered with an entree if desired, they're not a main course. I got one and it is a smaller portion but a filling portion. Just enough and what I was looking for. Wine list should keep all of the Caymus fanboys happy. Not a list I'm interested in but for a new restaurant you gotta go with the greatest hits until you get some feedback as to what people are looking for and willing to spend on. Word of advise, tell CDI to take a hike. Cocktails were very good and I mean very good. My manhattan had the proper cherry in it so I'm more than pleased with that touch. My son had a limoncello spritz which he enjoyed. I had a small sip and it was refreshing, again, would be even better for outdoor summer dining. Steaks looked and smelled delish from what I saw going to other tables. I would come back and have my wife order one so I can try a bite. Again, beautiful job with the renovations and wishing them the best of luck for years to come.

I just missed their live jazz band that they have on weekly Wednesday basis starting at around 7 or 8pm. I wasn't too disappointed because I knew I'd be back. The entrance is setup as a VHS store with VHS movie cases displayed all over the "storefront." Everyone here was polite and welcoming. I was met by a host who showed me the way into the hidden bar, that you enter via a soda machine. If I'm not mistaken, there's a specific button that opens the vending machine door (you'll get a hint as to which one it is.) I was lead to the back to a narrow, elongated bar area that was perfectly dim with cozy decor; incredibly inviting, warm, could make be described as elegant. At the end of the bar, near the exit (at the back of the establishment), is where the band usually sets up. I sat down and asked the bartender to free flow through his cocktail creativity and to please include smoke. He didn't disappoint, I can't recall the name of the cocktail but he included two scotches and delivered the smokiness I was looking for. I love a good spirit despite lacking the knowledge of its production to which Jeremy, the founder, explained to me in a way that helped me understand the distilling processes simpler than I thought possible. On their bar top there were two mini wooden barrels that held their own aged products . One contained Irish whiskey which was referred to as the Irish- the other was as a cherry infused bourbon-- both good but the bourbon? Divine. Tonight I learned that the wood you choose to age your alcohol in heavily impacts the flavor of the liquor, not only through the amount of time the spirit ages in the barrel, but the type of wood used. The example I was given was that of oak and its ability to allow sugar to be drawn from it via a liquor (can't recall which one exactly was used to describe this process). Here they also produce all of their bases/ juices or an additions to the drinks they make. You know exactly what you're drinking here. I had little knowledge of this distilling/infusion/aging components and also of Wallingford, a place that was once referred to as the wettest town in the U.S. It makes sense given that their main strip contains 18 bars in itself. This Gilded Curtain was incredibly immersive, there is no doubt that I'll be back, lots of times, with lots of different people to impress. Love this place, it's a must visit recommendation from here on out. Thank you Gilded Curtain (Jeremy).

Would give a 5 for atmosphere , though it is a bit small; bar seating only. It's also quite overpriced in my opinion, particularly for Wallingford area- $16 cocktails. I will say bartenders were very friendly and were able to make me a fun "feeling lucky" drink. Street parking is available up and down the street with a public lot a 5 minute walk down the road. I would definitely come back

As for the drinks, they had sake and whiskey, but no umeshu (plum wine), which was a bit disappointing. It's a common Japanese drink and is even used in some of the cocktails on the menu. When we inquired, the server said the cocktails are pre-mixed so they don't have it, which seemed odd for a cocktail bar. The server didn't even seem to know what umeshu was, because she suggested looking at their other wines, when umeshu isn't even a wine. It's just translated to plum wine in English, but it's a liquor made from Japanese plums. For food, we ordered: - shishito peppers - wagyu uni & toast - tempura fish & chips The wagyu uni & toast and fish & chips came out first, together. It seemed our order for shishito peppers hadn't been put through, so it came 15 min later, with no explanation. So the order was off but the fish & chips and shishito peppers were good. The uni was delicious, but we didn't enjoy the pairing with the wagyu at all, mainly because it was mostly fat. It was so fatty, after the first bite, we took the meat off and just ate the rest. We still had a nice evening, but this wasn't the best dining experience we've had.
