    Shrimp and scallop pasta
    Pooja S.

Went to pasta EATaliana on a Friday at 6 PM. The restaurant is very cute, they have a projector playing clips from the New Haven area (and maybe Italy)? But it was quite innocuous and the vibes were good. Not a ton of people from 6-7:30. We ordered two appetizers to go with our bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, the scallops and arancini. The scallops were quite lemon heavy, but overall not bad. I ordered one of the specials, which was the scallops and shrimp pasta. And it was delicious! We ended up getting dessert, which I was blown away by. We all got a separate slice of cake. The limoncello cake was super light and had a great flavor, a good end to the meal. The other cakes also tasted great. Great place, would definitely recommend!

Food was delicious. Seems like a small place but if you go at the right time the place was wide open. We went around 2-3pm. Great service. I am surprised the place isn't packed 24/7. Very authentic and one of the best Italian meals I've had in a very long time (even for New Haven). Definitely worth visiting.

Visited based on Yelp reviews and preview of menu, and very happy that we did! Despite having eaten pizzas at Zuppardi and Frank Pepe earlier in the day, we sat on street side table in the cool air and enjoyed our meal. Zucchini blossoms stuffed with mozz were crispy, light, not greasy. Fresh marinara was nice dipping sauce. Arugula salad very fresh, huge portion that we couldn't finish despite sharing. Finally, the papardelle with porcini and sausage was great: properly al dente homemade pasta, silky cream sauce that was full of mushroom earthiness, and plenty of crumbled sausage. ( almost too decadent? Nah....) We were caught by surprise by $25 corkage fee; miscommunication between our initial server (not main guy) and me. For that fee, I'd have ordered theirs, but didn't see any mention of wine/beer on their online menu ( ummm, Yelp- fix this!). Overall, delicious food, attentive service, and incredible list of small plates that I felt had excellent value for the price, especially since the portions were very large. Yum.

We loved our visit to Pasta Eataliana! This was our first time visiting the city to attend a concert, and we tried this spot as our pre-concert meal. It's in little Italy and it seems family owned and authentic. The servers were nice, although it seemed there were only 2 servers for the entire restaurant. The servers maybe could've been a bit more attentive, but they did not take away from our experience. Our sausage and pepper appetizer was great - nice portion size. The lamb chops were amazing. They were cooked to perfection, plenty of chops for the price and plenty of meat. The chicken and risotto were both flavorful and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Another plus is the bathrooms were clean. We would definitely come back to this spot and highly recommend.

Update: They also have additional seating in the back of the building to accommodate larger parties. Service was outstanding for a busy Saturday night, and everyone enjoyed their meal.

This place is mind-blowingly good. With the huge variety of food on the menu, I still get the pork chop, pepper onions, and potatoes because it's one of my favorite meals. My friend got the cavatelli with pork ragu. We shared the meatballs for our appetizer. Everything is melt in your mouth delicious. Love our server, Mario. Even with the new addition, the place is busy so make a reservation

Food was delicious. Service was slower but the waiter was excellent. He just had way too many tables. We were in the back room - which was nice however you have to walk outside to get to the bathroom in the main room and it got VERY cold toward the end. Other than that- excellent. Will return but ask for main room only.

The ambiance was cozy & cute for date night. As for the food, fried mozzarella, the short rib pasta & the lasagna was the table's favorite! Service was friendly and quick.

It's always a challenge deciding where to go on Wooster Street, but I think our new go-to will be Pasta Eataliana. The menu is extensive. Our two dishes were orecchiette with sausage and a tubular pasta with braised short rib. We swooned with pleasure over each. Our server was a friendly and helpful young woman from Italy. The ambiance is very cozy--a long, narrow space. We were there uncharacteristically early so were seated without a reservation, but generally you'd need one.

I haven't had Italian food this good since I was in Italy! My favorite part is that it came out piping hot. Everything on the menu sounded delicious. The burrata was fresh. The bread was good. My pappardelle porcini was creamy, meaty and super filling. The pistachio ricotta cake was light and delicious. The service and the ambiance were also great. Shoutout to the two waiters working all the tables and the bar! I will definitely be back!

We ordered a pizza with onions and hot cherry peppers as well as a margarita pizza (if a pizza place can't do a cheese pizza or margarita right, not the spot to eat). The ONLY problem I had was something was falling off the napkins, not sure what it was, and we didn't notice it until the end. It seemed to be from only one stack of napkins, but couldn't tell since it was too late by the time we noticed. If they're cheap quality napkins, definitely should replace, especially because it could have fallen all over the pizza. This place is small, unapologetic, and full of character. Decorative firewood stacked with intention, walls filled with wine corks, and #10 tomato cans repurposed as pizza stands. The centerpiece of the room is the wood-fired oven, running hot and glowing with that perfect orange flame. The aroma of burning wood hits you right away and sets the tone. From that moment on, the culinary experience is in motion. We ordered The Mootz and Breaking My Meatballs. Both pies are built on a very thin, tender crust with beautiful leoparding. The dough is flavorful and clearly well-fermented. Sauce is applied with restraint, just enough to support the dough and cheese without overpowering them, and it delivers a clean, bright tomato flavor. Breaking My Meatballs was the standout. Homemade meatballs, herbed ricotta, cherry peppers, mozzarella, and that same balanced sauce. The cherry peppers bring a sharp vinegar tang that cuts perfectly through the richness of the ricotta and meatballs. Every bite hits a different note, and it all works together.
