Staff was awesome... very accommodating (I am partially deaf, so they made sure I could hear them when my order was ready). Had biscuits and gravy... because you can't go wrong with that, right? Bread and Honey Cafe is a delightful spot to get brunch and a coffee. We were greeted warmly by the staff, and after ordering at the counter we found a lovely seat by the window. There were a few people around who, like us, were there for brunch and pleasant company, but a few people had coffees and their laptops out. There's definitely a cute, coffee shop vibe to the place, so a nice place to chat but also to work! Our food was great! It arrived thoughtfully prepared and presented, and was so good. Everytime I'm in Portland, I make it a point to come here. They have incredible baked goods and seasonal specials, as well as some of the tastiest coffee around. The service is quick and friendly. It is a perfect cozy spot to grab a quiet, light breakfast. One of these days, I will tear myself away from the breakfast empanada and get one of the amazing quiches. Lovely cafe with front and rear seating there's also a courtyard with a bunch of picnic tables. There's some lovely snack snacks as well as the frittata and quiche's look amazing. Stopped by this cafe for late breakfast and was thoroughly disappointed. My friend ordered the chef's burrito and coffee, and I got the pesto & egg panini. The menu did not mention the panini would come with some kind of butter or mayo, but when I received the sandwich, there was a white spread on one side of the bread. I don't eat butter or mayo so only ate one side of the bread. I also didn't like how the eggs weren't real, cracked eggs. It was a very minimal panini and was not worth the price. My friend said the burrito tasted bland, and even told me not to try it. I will not be returning. Service was mediocre. Atmosphere was cozy. read more

What a cute little cafe! I stopped in early one morning before my conference and it was everything I was hoping for and more- cute interior, delicious food, and strong coffee. While I enjoyed the breakfast burrito, their fruit and yogurt parfait was the stand out item. It had so many fresh fruits and the perfect granola to fruit to honey ratio. They were generous with the fruits and it wasn't just a bowl of yogurt with a sprinkle of everything else. Love this cafe. We stumbled upon this cafe when we tried diy bar. The amazing ambiance, lovely service, delicious food, everything was perfect here. We ordered some drinks and then frittata bite, some biscuits with jam, and each one of them was delicious and freshly baked. There's outside seating at the back of the cafe with beautiful trees around. It was kind of hidden gem If you are around this place, do visit, and you would love this place. I used to live right up the street from here and stopped in while I was in the area craving a quiche. Unfortunately, the experience was terrible. I stood at the register while two employees carried on a conversation, not acknowledging me at all. After a few moments, I asked if they were serving food, and one of them--looking annoyed--said yes. OMG this was one of my favorite places to eat during my visit to Portland for the first time. Not only do they accommodate the vegetarian and vegan diet, but they do it with flavor! I got the breakfast empanada with all of my favorite ingredients. They warmed it up for me on the panini grill and I ate it with a side of sour cream and tapatio hot sauce. Everything came together so perfectly that I ate it all. It's a nicely sized empanada too, worth your buck. This empanada was so good that I considered bringing another one back on the plane with me but then came to my senses and realized I shouldn't because of the egg/dairy and the possibility that it may spoil. I would definitely get this if I visited Portland again and highly recommend to others who are thinking about visiting. Beautiful breakfast morning at B&H! Walking in, you see a savory display of goodies with a sincere welcoming! We enjoyed the house made quiche and mushroom leek pie. You can taste that it is made in house fresh. A sweet thank you as you leave is always a great sign of service! A couple sidewalk tables outside to enjoy the brisk awakening. So upset for them they were victims of vandalism with their front glass door shattered. Like most of Portland a plywood cover is a sign of the times. So let me start off by saying the food here is very tasty. We tried a bunch of different pastries (potato leek breakfast pie, breakfast empanada, spinach cheese pie) and quiche, we also got biscuits. It was delicious and I would definitely buy again if I came back, however, the flavor wasn't lasting enough that I foresee cravings in the future. Potato & Leek Breakfast Pie: Most flavorful savory item. It reminded me of Indian samosa filling minus the curry/turmeric flavor with a nice pizza like crust. But still nothing I'd imagine craving for. Breakfast Empanada: Myself and my Hispanic husband were highly unimpressed and kind of sad that this was called an empanada at all. The filling was mostly flavorless and just very potato-y. I had to break out the hot sauces to spice it up. There was some sausage in there, but definitely not enough sabor (flavor) to call it an empanada. Pesto Breakfast Panini: Just a regular old breakfast sandwich with a little bit of pesto. Not enough flavor packed into the pesto and not enough pesto to give this sandwich a lot of thrill. The sandwich itself wasn't warmed or pressed enough to give it those good panini grill marks or warmth. Would definitely go to a different spot like Fried Egg I'm In Love for a proper breakfast sandwich. With so many great options in Portland, unfortunately this one is not one to add to the favorites list. Would consider grabbing a potato leek breakfast pie and a slice of browned butter honey pie if I was in the area, but wouldn't come seek this place out. Nice, cozy neighborhood cafe. Stopped by to grab some coffee before my session at the DIY bar next door. They have a pretty standard selection of drinks with some seasonal specials. I got their honey latte. The staff were really kind and let me customize the drink. I requested to substitute milk out for oatmilk and wanted just a little bit of honey instead of the usual amount they put it. The drink was delicious, one of the best lattes that I've ever had. There is also a variety of homemade pasteries available, including quiches, which I dont see often as an option at cafes. Overall - I made a quick stop to grab coffee, and it was well worth it. Came in here one morning for some breakfast and coffee. The breakfast sandwich I got was alright until the last bite where I had a huge crunch of something very hard. I spit it out and it was a hard piece of plastic which was pretty disgusting. Don't know if these are premade sandwiches and that's why there was plastic in there? It wasn't like a wrapper piece it was a tiny chunk of plastic that actually hurt my tooth when I bit it. When my girlfriend woke up craving biscuits and gravy, I knew yelp would be here to help us find breakfast. After a search in the area we were heading, we found Bread and Honey Cafe, a cute spot with nicely placed outdoor and indoor seating. We ordered biscuits and gravy as well as a few drinks and enjoyed the lovely weather in their outdoor covered, heated area while eating our brunch. For me, the biscuits were the star of the show: light, fluffy and tasty, with the sausage gravy adding the perfect compliment. We considered brunch accomplished. I definitely want to return to try a few other things, especially the delicious looking cinnamon roles and other assorted sweets. Also, the staff was fantastic and had all the right procedures and safety measures to make sure you stay well during these crazy times. I had my hopes up because of the good reviews and it's so close to my new place but was seriously disappointed. First, I asked for eggs over medium, this means no runny whites. I basically got snot eggs. Not cool, I had to cook the eggs more when I got home. ‍ Second I specifically asked to make sure they give me enough gravy for the biscuits. NOPE I got a tablespoon or 2 at most and it barely covered the top of the very hard and dry biscuits. I had to ask again after I double checked it. I shouldn't need a steak knife to cut biscuits. How their biscuits are already hard and dry as a bone at 9am I don't understand, unless that's how they make them or I got biscuits from yesterday? Third, the Cauliflower cake was burnt black on both sides. Not sure what the point is making something healthier then burning it black with cancer causing carbon? I got all this plus a coffee for ridiculous price of $18. Oh and about the coffee. They charge $.50 for every "flavor" making the coffee $4.50. Honestly, the caramel coffee at 7/11 is much better and less than half the price. I promise, go try it. So let's do the breakdown. Terrible breakfast $12.50 + $4.50 mediocre coffee with caramel and vanilla flavor. Hmm that equals $17. I paid $18. Did they just take an extra dollar for tip without asking? Is simple math not their forte? Next time I'll drive to Pine Street Biscuits, it's a fraction of the cost, better biscuits, eggs and they don't take "extra" dollars with no explanation. Such an epic fail, the only good thing was the people working there seemed nice but sadly, nice doesn't go far when you don't give me what I ask for or check the order, don't have a good handle on how to actually cook breakfast and over charge me. Ugh. Saddest part is, I love biscuits and gravy and chicken pot pies so they've lost a weekly return customer. read more

Very cute little cafe and friendly staff. We ordered breakfast (one breakfast panini and one pesto sandwich), a cinnamon bun, Mayan mocha, and cardamom honey latte. The sandwiches were great. Would not consider the panini a traditional panini's as it was not grilled/pressed together. But still tasted delicious. The focaccia was interesting: was very tasty but clearly wasn't baked like traditional focaccia as it wasn't coated in oil and was shaped like ciabatta. Will be stealing this idea for my own work from home sandwich making. The Mayan mocha needed to be stirred a bit more to fully melt and incorporate the chocolate together.
