    Breadless!!

Breadless has become my go to spot when I'm in the area!!! The food is really good and they have a lot of healthy options.

    Southwest Rice Bowl with Chicken
    Kai L.

This was my first time trying Breadless after hearing so many good things, and overall, my experience was just okay. I ordered the Southwest Bowl, which was decent but a bit under-seasoned and not particularly memorable. However, I also tried the Jerk Chicken Sandwich, and that one was definitely the highlight. It was flavorful, nicely seasoned, and spicier than I expected. The staff were friendly, though not especially helpful when it came to making recommendations. I did mention it was my first time, so I was hoping for a bit more guidance on what to try. It's mainly a takeout spot, but they do have a few tables inside and some nice outdoor seating, which would be great on a nice day. I plan to give them another try soon because I think it might've just been the menu item I chose. For now, I'd give them a solid three stars, but I'll update my review after my next visit.

Food was pretty fresh with good portions. But there was a piece of hair in one of our bowls, which really irked me. They gave us a new bowl but it's just kind of hard for me to get over the food safety aspect.

A dear friend LOVES this place so I gave it a try yesterday. I ordered online for curbside pickup. Very easy ordering and customization process. My food was ready shortly after I pulled up, much appreciated for a lunch run. The food was so fresh, flavorful, and large portion. I added chicken to my bowl but it would be extremely filling without it. I'm a foodie but this took me 2 sittings to finish. Moneys worth for sure and a healthier option than a burger and fries (which I love very much lol).

I created my own salad bowl with roasted chicken, pepper jack cheese, red onions, Parmesan cheese, cucumbers, and toasted chickpeas!! It was so delicious. I meant to take a picture but it was smelling so divine, I forgot. I also paired it with the Celsius peach vibe drink!!

Creative approach! The jerk flavor was awesome, and the sandwiches had fresh ingredients. Lobby needed housekeeping attention.

There a few mainstays, including their doner options. Their lamb doner version is the only one I've found in the US I like (I have to remember to ask without peppers, not a traditional ingredient). Their cocktails are fresh, inventive, and interesting. I've tried a variety, and they do a consistently good cocktail. And we ordered the eggplant fries too, which were sweet and crazy good. We also had cocktails. I had to try the Snap Pea margarita... which tasted exactly like a snap pea margarita. Bizarre and not a taste combination I will repeat, but unique. My friend ordered the purple gang and it was sweeter and bubbly. We split cheese ravioli which was good. For dessert we had the chocolate brownie with cinnamon ice cream. The ice cream was the star of that dish. My only issue was the volume of this cool place. Music was loud and the patrons were louder. I will try it again with an eye toward a less busy time slot. A truly unusual and delicious menu!

My friend pointed out the breathtakingly beautiful bouquet of dried flowers hanging over our table. I should have taken a photo when I had the chance. I started with the spiced brown sugar latte, made with oat milk. Delicious and sweeter than I thought. Even though the menu is small and curated, I could not decide between the nosh plate, the biscuit brekkie, or the quiche, which was the special of the day. So I ended up with the quiche but added the biscuit and bacon - I did not want to miss out. The crust of the quiche was fine, but the custard-like filling was divine, more like a savory crème brûlée or flan. Service was quick and efficient. Our reservation was made for one of the predefined 90-minute blocks, so the staff was on top of getting and delivering our meals and bussing tables as soon as they emptied to make room for the next group of guests.

Between the two of us we had the beet salad, burger and steak tartare. Burger was good, but not the best smash burger that I've had. Beet salad was fine, however the cream cheese was a bit overpowering against the orange oil. It was dying for some citrus. Steak tartare was a bit dry, meaning that a small dab of olive oil would have added to the richness and overall mouth feel. I did not really taste the egg although I did see a dab of yolk on the tartare. Needed a bit of salt also to enhance the taste Menu was small, but it did cover a cross section of French bistro dishes. All in all, I thought it was a bit overpriced. So I will have to consider returning for a full meal. I would come back for a burger and beer at the bar.

I have consistently come here to get food throughout the years and it has been so rewarding to continue to see Yum Village be such a pillar in the city and in the food industry! They are so attentive to us and even when there was a snaffoo with on of my party's orders. They paid with cash and I think perhaps that messed up the tracking of the order through the system? I'm not entirely sure. As for the food, Yum Village has maintained some of the same dishes throughout the years, while also adding and/or rotating a ton of other dishes through the menu. I can definitely confirm that the garlic parm jerk chicken remains my favorite and that the spice level, while still plentiful and intense, has eased up a bit in recent years. Either that or that I have become more spice heat-tolerant! Either way, the portions also remain huge, so there was a ton of food to take home! I love the truffle collard greens, the deeply unique and flavorful corncakes, and also the star of the show this go around was the deliciously complex fried cheesy fufu! Only bumping it down a star because they had some trouble with one of my friends' order. I guess it didn't go through to the kitchen, but one of the ladies noticed and asked my friend for her receipt so they could get her food going.
