Went here on Sunday during brunch. Had a chicken sandwich called Mel B's. It was supposed to be a to go order but we sat down for "just" a moment. The sandwiches were decent and I enjoyed both of them. Grouper sandwich had nice seasoning and the shrimps were crispy. I wish the chips were homemade or something not just a random bag considering the price. You order at a counter and they give you a number so can't speak too much about the service here. After seeing Breaker Breaker on my beltline walks and all over social media, we finally came! There's free street parking in the neighborhood close by. On a Sunday night, there were plenty of tables outside. The vibes and aesthetic are definitely there, but the food is another thing (food poisoning)!!! We ordered food at the window outside as we wanted to sit on the patio. We ordered a basket of hushpuppies & dockside poutine to share with the table. My boyfriend ordered the Gulf Fish Fried Basket and the Sleeper Cab and I ordered the Shrimp Po'Boy and Mucho Nada. The apps came out to our table first. The entrees came out shortly after except mine even though I got the same thing as one of my friends. My entree came 5 mins after everyone else's so timing here could definitely be better especially if the same item was ordered twice. I really liked the Mucho Nada and it was so yummy and nice for a hot beltline day. My boyfriend got the Sleeper Cab that I found to be meh. It just had a weird after taste to me, but he enjoyed it. The hushpuppies were the BEST food item here. It had a little kick and they were so moist and flavorful!! Definitely get these. The poutine was fair. The fries weren't crispy enough to withstand the gravy, but the flavor was there. I would have liked to see bigger chunks of crab and a more cheese curds. I was really looking forward to my shrimp po'boy but spoiler alert I was disappointed. There was a decent amount of shrimp, but upon picking up my sandwich the bread was wet? Not tarter and cocktail sauce wet, but like liquid liquid wet? Because it was wet my po'boy had no structural integrity and everything came out. The flavor just wasn't there for the po'boy and the soggy bread was not yummy. One of my friend's shrimp po'boy was also falling apart. The friend that got the fried shrimp basket enjoyed more shrimp and he liked that more. Po'boy was a big disappointment and not worth the price. My boyfriend's gulf fish platter looked so good and he really enjoyed it in that moment. He was the only one to order fish as the rest of us ordered the shrimp po'boy or the fried shrimp platter. He, HOWEVER, spent the rest of the night throwing up... soo can't recommend that. The rest of us didn't have issues with the shrimp so beware of the fish. We spent nearly $100 on 1 app, 2 entrees, and 2 alc drinks which was not justified by the quality of food AND FOOD POISONING. Without food poisoning, I would have given Breaker Breaker a 2 or 3 BUT I can't help but give it a 1 star. I've eaten at a lottt of places but haven't had it happen to me or anyone I was with. I would come back for drinks on the patio and the hushpuppies, but I don't see myself coming back for anything else anytime soon. read more

Not even the lady who was grabbing drinks from peoples freaking hand. Nobody has an issue abiding by the rules! You just have to advise people, which they had so much opportunity. Do not come here. Their food is decent, but their service is awful!! There have been times where a party orders and they just never bring out one persons meal. This happened to me for the first time on opening day and I cut them slack because it was opening day. But then it happened again last night! The part that is really irritating is that they comped our drinks but not the meal that they brought by after everyone was done eating!! If you forget to bring an entire dish, you should be bending over backwards to make things right and comping two drinks is not enough. Breaker Breaker has such a fun vibe! It is chill, laid-back, and non-pretentious. A great place to meet for a drink and great for people watching off the Beltline. I'm a fan of the longhaul lager which is their house beer for $4 but I've also had the mucho nada cocktail which is their frozen cocktail with mango and a tajin rim, which was good. You can order food and a limited selection of drinks (beer, frozen cocktails) in a designated line, and any other cocktails requiring a bartender you order at the bar. They will give you a number and bring the food to your table. Foodwise, I have had the dockside poutine, smoked fish dip, hushpuppies, and the cajun peel-and-eat shrimp. The dockside poutine is large and hearty and could definitely be an entree for 1 person but easily enough for 2 or 3 people to share. The gravy is delicious and reminds me of gumbo. The hushpuppies are so good, and come with a spiced honey butter that is divine. My favorite is the smoked fish dip, which is super fresh and comes with a single serving bag of Zapp's voodoo chips to eat it with. I kinda wish they gave you more chips with it. If you are trying to find an empty table on a sunny weekend during peak time, good luck! This place is very popular. There is a lot of seating though. Food, delicious. Service, awful. The staff will be rude to you if you bring kids, period. We love the food here - always delicious. The drinks are ok too. The service though is awful and we encountered multiple rude people. My husband saw a table number on the floor, so he picked it up to be helpful. We went inside to eat and as soon as we entered, he got yelled at by a manager for having a stroller and a table number. Totally fine we cant have the stroller, we parked it outside. But before he could explain why he had the table number, he was getting reprimanded. He brought it in to be helpful bc it was on the ground. Then later into the meal, our 9 month old was being rowdy so we grabbed a high chair. Note the inside is EMPTY, its just us. Before I got 1 foot inside, the bartender is taking it FROM MY hands and telling me I can't have it. I understand that's a rule too, but to take it from my hands and tell me "read the sign outside" is straight rude. You can't have highchairs inside because of space - I get that. But NO ONE WAS BY US. The tables remained empty the rest of our stay. The sign has 6 rules on it, its on the ground by the bar outside and a line of people....sorry I didn't immediately read all signs covered by people before walking in and know them by heart. Maybe post it on the website if you're going to be so strict. We were reprimanded immediately upon entering - note we didn't have drinks yet, no silverware, no plates and hadn't been served. Service was slow (It was busy, that's ok)...but you have time to yell at us. My issue is: be kind. Assume good will. Being rude because we didn't know is unnecessary. We're all just trying the best we can - the immediate snark was out of hand. And taking the highchair from my hands before I even had a moment to process felt childish. Never come here for a gameday or go upstairs to Floridaman in general, Bartenders and staff at Floridaman are SO RUDE and space is horribly optimized with massive furniture, no standing room, and a long list of rules that rude male staff on a power-trip are excited to enforce. Our group went upstairs to get a spot before the game started and we were turned away, as they have a rule everyone's butt needs to be in a seat. We went back 20 mins later, they denied us again, but seeing many open seats, one of our guys argued there were open seats everywhere. There was a group of 4 seats on the bar, I asked why we couldn't sit in those, the bartender said he had people walking up the back for them. I said isn't the back exit only?, he said "well she works here". There were even additional seats open in many different spots. It was explained to us that people sitting were saving those, but our friend walked over to this person saving seats and after some switching around of stools and nasty glares/comments from staff, our buddy got us seats. I started walking over to our friend and the male bartender yells at my friends "can you guys stop moving?!", insane to be spoken to like that. It wasn't busy at all and we were doing nothing wrong. This place has rules like it's the White House, the male bartender and upstairs staff were on a power-trip with their multiple silly rules and comments they take WAY too seriously. The food menu upstairs is also terrible compared to downstairs, and they won't let you bring any food from downstairs to upstairs and visa-versa. It seemed to be all pre-prepared foods such as fish dip or cold beet salads. The WORST spot to watch a football game on a Saturday, staff couldn't care less about the Georgia game being on TVs and acted very bothered by our group upstairs in Floridaman when we ask for the TV to be on SEC network. Only one very nice female worker helped us, I wish I had her name for a shoutout, she was awesome. Many UGA fans upstairs beside us in jerseys and more, they should be more aware of their clientele on a Saturday, we will definitely never be back. read more

Great new spot! So excited to welcome this to the neighborhood. Breaker Breaker sits on the beltline and has a great casual atmosphere perfect for stopping in right off the trail, or driving to visit. Parking - Parking is limited, but there is some street parking available. Its a happening spot, so you might have to walk a little Seating - TONS of covered patio seating. Sitting on the patio is a "order at the window and take the number to your table" situation which makes things super speedy. If you want to sit inside, theres limited space around the bar, and the big windows/doors to the inside area are going to be open on nice days, so its still kind of "outside" I'm not sure how much space there would be if weather was bad, so keep that in mind if its raining hard or freezing when you are trying to visit. If you sit inside, I believe you have a waiter. Large bar - lots of bar seating on both sides. Drinks can be ordered at the bar after you place your order at the window. Causal vibe because of the outdoor table running situation. Wine in a box etc. Wait time - Be prepared to wait (at least right now) in a line 10-20 people long on the weekend if you are coming at dinner. Doesnt take too long, but worth noting that the line/window are outside in case weather is bad. Food - We ordered a few things to split. Ceviche, oysters, grouper sandwhich, hushpuppies. All were delicious! I'd say the hushpuppies are a must try. The Ceviche was good, and I'd probably get it again. The oysters were also quite good, I just felt like the size and number of oysters and what you got for the price was a little underwhelming, but nothing bad about the flavor. Finally, definitely have to have the grouper sandwich. Its everything you want or would expect in some flaky grouper goodness. My only missing star is because I simply don't know yet what its like if the weather isn't nice, some parking and wait time issues etc. I'm sure that stuff will work itself out! The food for three of our party of four came really quickly. One of those three asked for a side of cocktail sauce and the employee responded "We'll see" and promptly walked away. He did come back a few minutes later with the sauce but that was just a weird interaction. The fourth person in the party's order obviously got lost. 10 minutes after the rest of the party got their food, someone finally came by the table and we let them know one order was missing. Another 15 minutes passed before the order finally showed up. The menu is pretty limited, which isn't a terrible thing, but we all ordered different things and no one seemed to really be impressed. Dual review: Food from Breaker Breaker but sat and dined at Florida Man. It's clear that these are two separate establishments attempting to mingle & play nice in the same space. Florida Man does allow you to sit at the rooftop, yet order food from below at Breaker Breaker BUT it's quite the task so you're better off sticking with Florida Man's scaled down menu, which if I go back I'd most certainly do. Our waitress let us know that it was possible to order from Breaker Breaker but in order to get food at Breaker Breaker and sit at Florida Man you have to have a clone or at least have two ppl in your party because one person will have to hold down your seats at Florida Man while the other goes down to order food at Breaker Breaker. When you get down to the side window of Breaker Breaker, pray it's not close to 100 degrees outside and there's a line to order. Got up to the window and ordered food only to be told by the cashier that I couldn't order food at Breaker Breaker and eat it at Florida Man, because their runners don't go upstairs - GIRL WHAT?! The cashier's coworker then pops in and says they had new rules and I COULD order from Breaker Breaker, get to go boxes and eat upstairs at Florida Man...so see, what I mean? The wires are sorta crossed when it comes to lines of communication between the two establishments. It also took a while to get the food. I'd say 20 mins max, but having to stand in the sun near the kitchen door and flag down the runners with your number for the food isn't ideal either. From standing in line to ordering to receiving my complete order about 45 mins had passed. Definite kinks to be worked out there. The FOOD - - Breaker Breaker deserves the best hush puppies in town award for their puppies. The Louisiana hot butter is masterful. Just the right amount of grit from the cornmeal to appreciate it for making the hushpuppy what it was. I would recommend them ten times over. Great starter! I settled in on the cabbage and rice salad as my entree. I ordered without protein since I was already sharing apps and it was still fulfilling and satisfying. I thought the vinaigrette was a choice dressing for the salad. Job well done and I would order it again. The freshness of mint, orange and avocado paired with the texture of the rice and cabbage was such a delight. Lastly, I had the charbroiled oysters. For me, they fell flat. Even with the signature parm and house garlic butter they were tasteless. I would not get those again. Florida Man - - When they say they are not a full service restaurant, they mean it. You even have to get up and fetch your own water. Very casual atmosphere, somewhere that is cool to meet a friend or at least someone you're acquainted with. I would not hit this spot for a date. Because it was rather warm outside and this is essentially a rooftop bar with no walls it can get sweaty with the heat. The bar had ceiling fans but they are more down the center of the bar and if you're sitting on the perimeter you're not able to feel a lick of air especially if the wind is not blowing...bring a small fan if you can. That would help when it's heated out. I would have liked if the bar had fans on the perimeter. If you hate parallel parking you may want to Lyft or Uber here. It's mostly street parking. Would be a great stop off if you were walking the belt line. For a place to stop, get drinks and chat I highly recommend! read more
