Great neighborhood gem! We've been several times already! and I keep wanting to go back to try all the dishes. The food tastes great and presentation matches the menu photos. Every staff memeber we've experienced are friendly, [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has a large patio and plenty of outddoor seating most of the tables and seats are spread out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The biggest fav and plug is it's dog friendly![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]But my only request is to better keep the ground cleaner. 2nd time I noticed the ground had debris and looked dirty, therefore I don't care to leave my pup on the ground in some areas[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

Visually perfect. See attached. So misleading. Chicken very over fried, meat hard to discern from dry bones. Special syrup so sweet it was inedible. Made me think abt how good the chicken and waffles are at yardbird. If this is the thought running thru my mind at Flipper's... not a good sign. The husband, of his eggs benny, said "the egg, ham, salad, etc. was delicious, but pancake base is v dry. The hollandaise, not the biggest fan. Tastes v off." I will never, ever be back.

Surprised that there wasn't a wait for a Friday. We ordered and everything came out in a timely manner. All the sides were really good (especially the hashbrowns), the pancakes on the other hand were okay. I've had soufflé pancakes before at another restaurant and I feel like I was basing my idea on how it would taste on those pancakes. These pancakes were moist and didn't really have flavor so I didn't really like them. The maple butter is different but I think I can do without

I would not wish any breakfast companion in the world but you. Without further delay let's begin this spectacular review. Flipper's is a popular local breakfast spot in WeHo that offer a breadth of items. It is located in a tiny plaza on Fairfax avenue. From Japanese style soufflé pancakes to chicken 'n waffle to burgers and fries and toasts etc. We came as first time customer and arrived on a late sunny morning. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Its exterior bldg has a vibrant yellow that really stands out on the street.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Interior and exterior atmosphere were relaxing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had a Fruit Pancakes and OJ. Both were absolutely delightful. Pancakes were soft and fluffy and its fruits were fresh as well as my OJ. A young white female staff was affable and warm. Service was spot on albeit depends on what you order. For instance, soufflé pancakes take ~20 mins to make. It's just how they're made. Prices were fairly marked. Parking lot and street metered parking are available. Collectively, it is a nice little breakfast spot with instagramable food. ;D Lol. Overall, I bloody enjoyed their pancakes! I recommend them.

The soufflé pancakes are such a yummy delicacy! I came as a solo diner and got seated immediately at the bar. My pancakes were ready in a shorter time than my waitress expected which was a nice treat. I was given maple syrup but honestly these are great without any syrup so I didn't even need it! My onlyyyy critique is that the chicken i ordered on the side was meh. Overcooked and tough chicken bites that were hard to eat. I could've gone without ordering the chicken bites. But the soufflé pancakes were great!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The food and vibe was top notch![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were seated immediately as we arrived to our reservation. Parking was bit tedious as I had to park a block away, but the restaurant is located in a plaza with some of its own parking. Our server was fantastic and accommodating. Our food came to us exactly as we ordered and in a timely manner. We also got a side of chicken and breakfast potatoes afterward and it was delicious. I would definitely return, my friend and I will definitely be returning and recommending Flipper's to our friends and family. Thank you for the amazing breakfast!!

I had a nice brunch at Flippers. Sat outside and the vibe was really laid back classic brunch place. They are most known for their fluffy pancakes, but I was in more of a savory mood so I got their mushroom, spinach, & cheese omelette with toast, bacon, and hashbrowns. The eggs were super fluffy. Loved the hashbrowns they were extremely crispy just the way I like them. I asked for the bacon well done which they also honored and I appreciated that. Service was a bit slow and inattentive. One of our orders came late and did not arrive until we asked our waitress to check on it for us. But despite that still had a yummy meal. Would come back again for a small group brunch. Next time, I would definitely come with a sweet craving and try one of their fluffy pancakes!

Absolute charmer. Wonderful variety and tastes are found at Flipper's. We thought to come in for the lemon-ricotta pancakes, but ended up going in a different direction. How Hollywood. Technically, this is West Hollywood, but wherever you map it, Flipper's is definitely worth visiting. The mushroom spinach cheese omelette has many ways to customize: pick a protein plus a few other options, and you're set. The lox was a slight upcharge, but man, they loaded it up nicely. This is one packed, flavorful omelet. Recommend the home fries, too (or choose salad). Homefries have a bit of a kick: they are cubed, not greasy, and a great complement to the omelette. Sourdough toast to round things out. A ton of food for $18. Note on the coffee: Bottomless, and really good. I swear there were maple syrup notes to the black coffee. How pompous to say, fine. Still, that flavor was subtle (maybe even subliminal), and had a special quality to it. Also tried the Chicken and Waffles. Big win. The dark meat is moist and covered in a crispy breaded layer that is delicious and very easy to eat. Love the maple butter syrup, and the house special: whipped strawberry butter. I thought both of those additions (served on the side) would be too much for me, but I really liked them both. If that doesn't suit, you, each table has its own regular maple syrup. A ton of food for $20. The waffles are served kind of soft - almost cakey. Though flavorful, I prefer a bit of a crunch to my waffles, but no complaints. And, since I took home almost half of my order, they got some crunch when warmed in the toaster. For scientific purposes, we tried an order of their soufflé pancakes. Officially, Flipper's Pancake. Lovely, eggy, light and a tad sweet. Yum. Though there are many other varieties available (such as Fresh Fruit or Macha et al), I wanted to get a baseline first - and it was delicious. The whipped cream served with is a cozy complement that is so good. They fall apart easily (use the recommended two-fork method). Service was great. Outside is preferable as you're far enough from the street, and the air is good. Inside seems a bit loud, and it bit too cozy. Nice tunes playing on the patio, just loud enough to still have a conversation. A handful of parking spots off Fairfax on premises. Or, street parking. So happy to find Flipper's! 4.5 Stars.

The best soufflé pancakes outside of Japan! Such an excellent breakfast spot -- it's well worth the drive to Fairfax from LAX. You can't beat the flavor and consistency of these pancakes. The restaurant has a bright yellow theme, with both indoor and outdoor seating, makes the whole experience feel cheerful and lively. Service can be a bit slow since the pancakes take about 20 minutes to prepare, but they're absolutely worth the wait!

We sat outside in the patio as the restaurant is on the smaller side. I missed the soufflé pancakes in Japan and these were soooo yummy 10/10 for sure! I literally ate everything on my plate! The cream is just enough sweetener for the pancakes no syrup needed! Fresh fruit and tadaaaa! My sister n-law had the egg Benedict and she dates it as 10/10. A hot pot of tea and cold coffee to the order and done deal! Everything was perfect! I highly recommend to park around the area and walk as there is limited parking space in the restaurant. We went after the whole morning rush so it was nice and sunny not too crowded. A must try for sure!!!

My impression of the soufflé style pancakes is that they are quite eggy. Nonetheless, I'm happy to bring guests around to get the experience of trying it. The patio is very quaint and cute, but can lend itself to privacy. Ideal. Finally a place that serves a reasonable quantity of bacon as a side! The servers came around at good intervals.

Could be better- 2 stars for service because we were the only ones in the restaurant. Felt like we were an inconvenience. Had to wave them down for attention. Chicken & waffles: there was a hair on the waffle. I didn't say anything because the three workers were standing around chatting, so I moved it aside. Chicken was crispy. Croque madam: pesto chicken with the bechy sauce was good. We had a the side of fries that were truffle "oil" but you could barely taste the truffle. Very underwhelming. It comes with a side of mayo and ketchup. Flipper pancakes: they were delightful, super fluffy but took 45 min to come out. My first time here and wasn't left with a good impression. I would hesitate to come back.

Even with our rez, we still waited almost 20 minutes to be seated. The only other thing I did not like about this restaurant (and not much they can do to change it) is that there are only two bathrooms which get veryyyy busy and there is no room to stand and wait so you're kind of in the way the whole time. It's small dish style, so super fun to come with a group and try a bunch of different things. They had a ton of great options for vegetarians! It was a bit chilly outside but they have a lot of heated lamps on which helps a lot. I loved everything we ordered but I think my favorites (as a vegetarian) were the brussel sprouts, salatim, and the elote. The cashew pate and beet dip with the salatim were realllly good. The brussel sprouts were crispy and had a yummy sauce. The beet salad was good but I wanted it to have more of the goat cheese spread. The cauliflower was also really good - roasted and a little spicy. They had a fun list of cocktails and mocktails as well. The food came out at a good pace and I left feeling veryyy full. They were really sweet and even comped the dessert for our party which was very nice. We had the bread pudding and it was sooo good. I highly recommend eating here! It's an experience!

You definitely get your money's worth, and it's easy to see why this place is so popular. Whether you're craving something sweet or savory, it's hard to go wrong here. The quality of the food alone makes it a place I'd come back to. The ambience was lively and energetic, creating a fun brunch atmosphere. The restaurant had a constant buzz from how busy it was, making it feel like a popular local spot. While it could get a little loud during peak hours, the vibrant environment added to the overall experience and made it feel like a place people genuinely enjoy visiting. The service, however, was the biggest downside of our visit. While the restaurant was busy, the staff didn't seem very attentive or welcoming. It took a while to get checked on, and it often felt like we had to flag someone down when we needed something. The overall service felt rushed and a bit unorganized, which didn't match the quality of the food. Overall, I'd still recommend The Griddle Cafe because the food was outstanding and easily deserves a 5/5. The atmosphere was enjoyable, and if the service becomes more consistent, this would easily be one of my favorite brunch spots.

Third thing I noticed was how long it took for the food to come, I ordered a hot turkey sandwich. It took over 30 minutes. It was almost like someone had to catch the turkey before they could make a hot turkey sandwich out of the turkey. When the sandwich came it was rather ordinary. The service is great and upon walking in we were greeted immediately. Our server was nice and had a bunch of recommendations which made it slightly harder for us to decide what to get hahah. We decided to get the most popular dishes which makes this place recognized! We started with the gem Caesar salad which was great! It's like a spicy Caesar salad and it was not dry at all - very well seasoned and sauced. We then got the spicy fusilli which is the must have pasta that I hear people rave out. It was yummy!! Not too spicy but the flavor is solid and pasta is perfectly a la dente. We then ordered the mushroom pizza which again was good! Nothing out of this world but it was enjoyable. Our server asked if we wanted, parm, chili oil and a side of ranch and couldn't resist. We got all 3 and I would highly recommend. The chili oil is delicious and elevates the pizza. The only reason I'm taking a star off the rating is the price of the food. I find it extremely expensive for pasta and pizza. The salad was ~$18 and the pasta was ~$24. I politely showed her my reservation which clearly said Dining Room (why even give customers the option if you're not going to seat them properly?) and she acted annoyed/put out. We had to wait an additional 25+ minutes for a table that we had reserved from the start. Finally around 9PM we are seated-- quickly we order two pastas and a pizza. We're told by the server that everything comes out once it's ready and I'm not exaggerating maybe 1-2 minutes later our pastas arrive at the table. A little strange, but whatever. We eat, enjoy the kind-of cold pasta (I believe this was a mess-up order or another table's, hence the speed and lack of warmth) and wait for our pizza. 20 minutes go by.... we finish our pasta. Still no pizza. We'd ordered a very simple white pizza. All around us other tables were getting their pizzas even though they ordered after us. I asked the server (who barely came to check on us throughout) what was going on and thrice she promised it was 'coming out of the oven.' They'd clearly forgotten our pizza, and I just wish they'd have been honest about that. Around 9:30PM, an HOUR after our reservation, we finally get the pizza. By this point I'm honestly ready to go-- especially because next to us are people who were sat and served INSTANTLY apparently because they know someone who works there. As an apology our server offered us free soft serve. While a nice gesture, the soft serve was given to us in the shittiest paper cups and it made a complete mess. We were not offered a price reduction or anything else, and didn't get out until after 10PM. This was the worst dining experience I've had in LA for years. Maybe ever. I kept trying to give the place the benefit of the doubt, but at every turn this was disappointing. The food is NOWHERE NEAR worth the annoyance you'll feel just getting through the reservation.
