This was a great and surprising stop. We had about an hour before we had to make our way out to the airport and the service was impeccably fast. We placed the order online and picked up shortly after. The food was prepared quickly and on time. I got the croissant sandwich, with a pancake and a side of bacon because why not. The croissant sandwich was okay, it needed a little something but I definitely got what I ordered. It came with a side of potatoes- it was more small diced potatoes rather than a hash or roasted. The bacon has the option of crispy or well done. We went with crispy and it was great! The pancake was a tad dense but had a cinnamon taste to it. Overall, we had a great experience. I was in the mood for some nice bfast today and did a quick search as this place popped up. I thought I recognized the location as it was an Irish bar previously. It's just west of 94 on Irving and for sure I'd come back here to try additional bfast items or even for lunch. I went with their Breakfast Burrito consisting of Scrambled eggs, bacon, onions, avocado, tomatoes, melted with pepper jack cheese , and sour cream. Topped with Guajillo sauce, wrapped on a flour tortilla. It's a solid size and made me question how much I want to do today lol. The coffee is brought to you by Intelligentsia which is always a solid choice versus your typical cheap diner coffee. I'm giving this place one less star but could be one less 1/2 a star because of the napkin situation. I got a solid napkin with my flatware but when I needed additional napkins, it was those cheap ones they put in those upright metal napkin holders. That ruined the atmosphere from the beginning, like don't these servers think logically anymore? Ordered the Mexican omelet and chilaquiles. The cheese in the omelet may have been a little older, but the potatoes were no good at all, felt like i was eating legos. Too hard and some undercooked. It came with one pancake, and cost 15 dollars. One pancake?? I was extremely upset when I saw the size, because when I asked how big the pancake is I was told it was pretty large not regular sized, what a disappointment. I also got the chicken sausage which was another 5 dollars for 3 links. Chilaquiles were lackin sauce, only had a drizzle of it. This was our first visit to Breakfast House. On Yelp, you can sign-up for their waitlist, but the wait showed as less than five minutes. When we arrived, we were immediately seated. The dining room is brick-walled, high ceiling, and has a farmhouse feel. We'd checked out the menu ahead of time. When we arrived, they also had specials which we didn't see on their website. Around the table, we ordered coffee, the Atlantic Salmon Cake Benedict, an order of the Fruit Plate, a Poached egg and toast, and a Mexican Omelet. I have to start with the service. We were immediately seated by the hostess. The server greeted us a few minutes later. The server was masked, was able to tell us about everything on the menu, and was patient with us. The food came out quickly and hot, thanks to the server and the kitchen, Mexican Omelette: Perfectly cooked. It is a mixture of eggs jalapeños, onions, cilantro, tomato, black beans, mozzarella cheese, and garnished with ranchero sauce and sour cream. It was perfectly cooked. It was well presented; the tastes blend together to produce a unique and delicious omelet. Atlantic Salmon Cakes Benedict: You can order this with either hollandaise sauce or chipotle sauce. I opted for Chipotle Sauce. This was also excellent. The salmon was fresh and was baked to make a salmon cake. On top of an English muffin and with potatoes, it as magnificent. The menu selection was very good (our group had the breakfast burrito, huevos rancheros, a croissant breakfast sandwich and a grilled cheese sourdough breakfast sandwich. Everyone really enjoyed their selections and the prices were pretty typical for Chicago. All in all a great experience. Our only down side was the volume in the back room. I didn't mark down for this because there was a table of about 20 people celebrating a birthday, so it's hard to complain about a group having a great time, but I think some sound baffling on the ceiling and walls would help a ton. All hard surfaces meant pretty much everyone in the room was shouting to have their own conversations. Nobody went away hungry, though! read more

I have come here a couple times to meet up with friends. The Breakfast House is so conveniently located close to the Irving park exit of 90/94, so it makes a perfect meet up spot for anyone who is driving into or out of the city. The breakfast cocktails are wonderful, they hit the spot for brunch. My waffle today was perfect! Very tasty and the fruit was fresh and so was the whipped cream. My husband had the house hash and the andouille sausage in it really takes the plate up a notch. My cousins said the chorizo hash was also delicious and spicy, but not too spicy. The corn cakes were ok, I'm glad I tried them, but I probably wouldn't order them again. And finally the challa French toast was very good, even reheated the next morning! I will definitely continue to visit this place regularly because the food is always good, the prices are good, and the service is always top notch. Something my toddler and I do almost every week because: 1) Food is consistently good and comes out quick, which when you have a toddler is key! 2) Drinks are yummy (Aperol spritz, mimosas, and bloody Mary's) and also are quick.
