Food so far tastes good especially their bread soft and warm I could put butter but holding back on it. It surprises me that they serve matzo ball soup because I only know two restaurants and one of them is Manny's deli which is expensive for months about soup. Dappers version for matzo ball soup is a little more celery or salty but decent it doesn't have a chicken noodle soup flavor which is not bad as for the matzo ball it's a little more smoother and not as spongy when you bite down. As for the main course I ordered liver and onions instead of bacon with rice ambience is very old school casual I've been to dappers before before because I was invited after a wake for reception and this is the first time dining alone but otherwise it looks pretty decent and the prices aren't too expensive do come here but it's best to come here before 7 pm for dinner otherwise they close the kitchen despite that their official hours is 8 pm to close. That's for their liver and onions it was savory and delicious with a lot of the sauce I ordered it with rice you could have it with bacon but that sounds gross. I finished it off with a delicious tapioca pudding with whipped cream and that was good too. For the price and the quality yeah it is worth it but you could come here before 7:00 p.m. to be a dining room then you are golden I do recommend coming here again read more

As a server myself, I really didn't want to leave a bad review, but this experience was too disappointing to ignore. This used to be my favorite diner, but after today, I don't think I'll be coming back. Right after we sat down, I went to grab sugar for my coffee and saw a roach crawling around. I was completely grossed out. A waitress saw me trying to kill it and moved us to another booth, which I appreciated, but it still left a bad taste in my mouth. Then I got my soup, which usually comes with bread, but I had to ask for it. The food itself was just...off. The meat was dry, the hashbrowns were bland, and it felt like nobody was really paying attention. When we got the check, I figured they might comp something or try to make it right in some small way. Instead, all they did was take off a coffee. I wasn't expecting a free meal, but something more than that would've shown they cared. Really disappointing, especially knowing how important it is to take care of guests when something goes wrong. read more

While I normally love this spot, it's gotten a lil old in my book. Every time I come, I order the same thing. Somehow the last three or four times the waitress has told me they don't make what I order. Today my husband comes home with my fave meal and it was salty. I'm a diabetic and the chicken was not edible unless I would have liked a visit to the hospital. You'd think with all the elderly that frequent the space, they wouldn't be so heavy handed with salt. Dappers East reminds me of a suburban restaurant located in the city. The restaurant was following the Covid guidelines with the spacing of the tables, patrons and employees wearing masks. The menu had plenty of entrees to choose from ..... breakfast to lunch to dinner. Of course, don't over look the daily specials. The prices seemed to be very reasonable. The server was very friendly and outgoing. I had met some friends for a later lunch and I finally decided to try the Perch Luncheon special which included a soup or salad, I opted to have the Lemon Rice soup. I forgot what my friends had ordered. Few minutes later, our salads and soup was delivered. We were happy with that portion. The soup was thick just the way I like it. Very favorable. Few minutes after our plates were picked up, the main entrees were dropped off. The server followed up with us, again. I wish I had remembered her name. The perch was very meaty and delicious. I love dappers! This is my favorite Sunday spot for an early dinner & sometimes we go for breakfast or lunch. There is a nostalgic vibe that you just can't find in most places. Today (Labor Day) we went for brunch. My guy had the cajun burger w/trimmings, fries, coleslaw & a bowl of the amazing cream of chicken soup. It's my fave soup & I really wanted it, but I also wanted breakfast. They give crackers & as evening approaches, you get delicious hot bread & whipped butter. I ordered banana pecan crepes & a side of crispy hash browns. I was only able to eat half because they serve generous portions. My guy inhaled his burger before i could get a pic. I am happy to show off my yummy crepes! Our favorite server is Erica. I think she was hostessing today & the lady we had was also great and very attentive to everyone around us. We came here while our kittums was taken back to be seen by a vet at MedVet ER on California (she's fine, it wasn't really serious). One of the really nice other customers mentioned this place to us, as the wait would be several HOURS on a busy Sunday. We headed over and sat down right away. This place also has a full bar, so one of my party took advantage of that with a vodka tonic. I had an Arnold Palmer. We shared the open faced corned beef sandwich/Reuben and a bowl of soup instead of fries. The friendly and helpful waitress was good enough to bring 2 bowls of the soup. There was a tv near the bar with football on. The food was fine except the fruit cup but it was December. It was a good hour or so to take our minds off our cat. Came in today and the manager has his mask pulled down below his nose and mouth. He proceeded to walk all around the restaurant and talk to customers this way. I mentioned it to him and he laughed. Then he proceeded to stand behind the cash desk with another employee and argue with her very loudly about some thing for about 20 minutes. It was very distracting and unpleasant. People come here to relax and get away from the real world and have a nice quiet meal. The last thing we should have to worry about is listening to employees and management fight. Do that in private. This is a solid place to go for a hearty breakfast with the staples of eggs, potatoes, breakfast meat and toast (or pancake). The quality is consistently good/decent. I have ventured to some of their more atypical menu items before (chorizo benedict) and found they didn't quite hit the mark for me. The service is consistently courteous and quick. There seems to be a flow of regulars coming in whom the servers spend more time chatting with when business is slower. Makes for kind of a laid-back home-y feel. Also validates to me that people like to come back, as I have. I've seen this place get packed from around 9am so the atmosphere then changes to more of a fast-paced hustle and bustle from the staff there. This cute, family-owned diner located within the Addison shopping plaza, a strip mall where you see Target, Dollar Tree, and a few neighborhood-type of stores. The daily dinner special menu was pretty well-priced: for $9.45, there was an entree of your choice from the menu and soup or salad which would come with it. I picked the beer battered tilapia. Heather, on the other hand, was very accommodating my hubby's request. Hubby recently began a vegetarian diet and has been beneficial to his health, and Ms. Heather suggested the cabbage soup for the veggie pita entree that he ordered. Nevertheless, the food was slightly lackluster. The actual tilapia was well-cooked and the breading was done properly. Yet the gravy for the meshed potatoes was too sweet for my taste. The side veggies came straight from the can. Honestly, I didn't think it was a big deal, but some more creativity could have been used to refrain from using frozen or can veggies. I tasted the hubby's cabbage soup; it was also sweet but palatable. He said his veggie pita was pretty good. Overall, the quality of food did not, at all, pass with flying colors. Despite of the minor disappointment on the food we had, hubby and I had a great time chatting about the Black Friday electronic deals with my i-pad, since the wifi was working strongly in the dining room. The fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee are always satisfying. I also recommend the omelettes and scrambles. If you are in more of a lunch mood, the sweet and sour cabbage soup is superb, if they have it when you are there. I visit Dappers at least once a week and order delivery from them occasionally. The food is A+ diner fare but what really impressed me was a situation that happened today. I had a craving for a rare cheddar cheeseburger (and they're always awesome there); however, mine arrived overdone with fries instead of the fruit that I ordered. I ordered through Grub Hub, but I called the restaurant and the owner personally delivered a rare replacement with fruit. Now that's service. Overall, the service and the food are really good.
