When in the area there aren't tons of options so you will more than likely visit Breakfast Paradise at least once. This place is HOPPING, I didn't see a vacant chair at anytime. The service staff does a great job with getting butts in chairs and cleaning it off for the next group. Our food was good- better than average, and the chorizo was nice and spicy! The area for improvement is on the drinks, it took a while to get our coffees and then longer for a refill. A rotating coffee person would be helpful for anyone that fancy's more than one cup. Overall, highly recommend for a tasty and hardy meal. read more

An awesome hometown local place with poor signage. Jeff was driving and is using Yelp maps to get us there and we drove right by it. Windows all steamed up due to the nice cool atmosphere inside and the super humid Texas weather outside. We both had a couple of eggs and bacon or sausage and biscuit and gravy. 6-1-24 Hadn't been here in a long time, so thought we'd grab something. The menu had so many spelling mistakes, I wanted to get a marker out and correct it! Ordered coffee (got a good dose of grounds), a sandwich (not bad- little greasy), and onion rings-slightly darker than most onion rings. Ate half, and not more than 20 minutes later I was so sick (haven't been sick in 4 years!) I broke out in a terrible sweat- I spent more time in the BR than I did eating. Since this was the only thing I'd eaten so far, it had to be this food. I ended up laying in a fetal position for three hours to relax from the cramps. Called them and told the girl to tell the manager they should probably change the frying oil, and she hung up on me. Tried to call back, and the message box is full.... We're a couple of Houston Burb people that planned a trip to the Hempstead Farmers Market. We're always looking for local mom/pop places to eat. We came across Breakfast Paradise (even though they also do lunch). We had the Mexican Breakfast and the Chorizo Potato Omelet. This Chorizo is the best I've ever had. The hot sauce was delicious. It was a busy Saturday morning on the day of a festival. So we had a front seat to the parade. The service was spot on and the price was very reasonable. Good coffee, sweet servers, interesting menu. This is an easy pull off near 6 and 290. They've got standard breakfast, and healthy breakfast, and Mexican breakfast....really something for everyone. The multi grain pancakes were delicious, especially with bananas added. The chorizo potato omelet was nicely made and the house salsa was a good addition. Very fast service, too. Paradise used to be our go to breakfast stop when visiting Hempstead, but things have changed dramatically. Don't know what happened because the food quality is definitely not what it used to be. Toast half cooked with a feeble attempt at buttering it, sausage potato platter had potatoes not cooked throughly, ham!! Wow serving lunch ham slices in place of a real slice of breakfast ham is taking it a bit far. They even cut the ham sandwich slice in half? This owner needs to get a better cook, better quality ingredients and really take a look at why more folks are eating at McDonald's down the road. Hate to say this but it will be a while before I return here..... have a happy meal read more

Wonderful service! Great little hole in the wall breakfast spot. Food came quickly, hot and fresh. Blueberry pancakes are fluffy and moist, no syrup needed. But if you are a syrup kinda guy, the syrup is served warm. Best omelette I've ever had, stuffed with sausage, crispy bacon, bell peppers, jalapeños and cheese. YUM!! We felt rushed to order; three different servers (back to back) asked if we were ready to order, there were three of us dining; 1. Ham and eggs; thin sliced ham (lunch meat) half of a slice, toast (or should I say warm bread). 2. Sausage potato scramble; sausage was what appeared to be polish sausage, potatoes had no color were not fully cooked and cold inside, red pepper was raw, and the toast (warm bread, no color) was served in a basket which did not have anything lining it. 3. Pancakes, eggs, and ham: the pancakes were half the size of the ones I have had in the past), I paid extra to add strawberries (or should I say strawberry) to the pancakes, the ham was half a slice of lunch meat ham, I had scrambled eggs which were mixed on the grill (or in pan) so I had chunks of egg whites.
