The fried catfish was breaded with cornmeal, perfectly crispy, also well seasoned and very moist and tender inside. The tartar sauce was homemade and very good but they also have a good peppered vinegar. Between us all we had an opportunity to try a lot of sides. Hush puppies which one of our hush puppy lovers said was the best she ever had (I'm not a fan of these overall so I can't really say). The potato salad was very good, creamy, with just a hint of onion and relish. Baked potatoes and sweet potatoes were enjoyed by all. Loved the crispy okra and green beans. Collard greens were also good. Of course, we couldn't leave without trying the pies. Caramel apple walnut was a little too nutty for me but it was still good. They key lime was my personal fave -- the crust was a good crumbly graham cracker that was definitely home made. We also had a lemon meringue and the chocolate coconut cream pie, which was essentially a half and half with chocolate cream and the bottom and coconut cream on the top. Both had beautiful, moist meringues with nicely toasted tops. On top of good food, we had a great waitress who was super attentive and very patient and friendly. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and looking for some nostalgic, good southern comfort food.

We were seated and told about the specials and given the menu. I was unsure what I wanted because I think I could have eaten a little bit of everything! I did ask the waitress a couple of suggestions and one of them was the pancakes I had chosen. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day! How cool is that and rare. They had a chicken and waffle special that was actually half a chicken ( pieces ) fried with Belgium waffles, powdered sugar and sweet strawberry butter served with their signature sweet and spicy sauce. I'll be honest when I had seen someone else get their plate I was surprised. It looked absolutely incredible and well tremendous. On their specials they had banana pudding pancakes or waffles, this also sounded amazing. It had walnuts, butter and powdered sugar and definitely banana. I am most certainly glad that I chose this as it was incredibly. Super fluffy, flavorful and the banana was not overwhelming there was a perfect balance of flavors. There was a sauce on them that I assume was the banana pudding. It was light and just enough to not overpower the pancake itself. We had also ordered croissant French toast and my son absolutely loved them. They were crispy on the outside yet fluffy and flavorful with a fantastic texture topped with some powdered sugar. Some ordered hash browns, these were also delicious and homemade with a great texture and the portion like all the other dishes pretty large. We had all tried the biscuits and gravy. These too were delicious with such a nice balance of flavors. The biscuits indeed homemade. We were all very pleased with everything. Some eggs over easy and bacon cooked perfectly. The coffee honestly the best I've had in years. I'm a coffee drinker and I cannot figure this coffee was outstanding! I had four cups and wish for more ha ha. Best of all I must compliment the service. I have not been to a restaurant of any sort with such attentive service, quality service as we received here in years. The waitress kept refilling my coffee and water, brought my son more soda ( even a container to take his home ) asked everyone if they needed anything at appropriate times and was extremely kind and considerate. We were seated promptly, given menus and asked about our drink choices. Our group had a variety of dishes from both the breakfast menu and lunch menu. Food portions were good - even the kid's plates. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and ate well. Both of my grandsons ordered off the kid's menu. One had a cheeseburger with fries, the other had scrambled eggs with pancakes. They loved their meals. My husband had country fried steak with gravy, two eggs over easy, a grilled biscuit and extra crispy home fries which he devoured. My son had two biscuits with gravy and two eggs over medium - he wiped his plate clean. My granddaughter and soon to be son in law had steak (one ordered well done and the other one ordered medium rare) both were perfectly cooked to their liking and served with mashed potatoes and gravy - they ate it all. And then for my entree - I decided on crabcakes and my choice of one side was their potato salad. The only slightly disappointing meal out of the bunch. I thought that a Mom and Pop Greek restaurant would offer homemade crabcakes but these were store bought. Flavor was okay but not what I had in mind. Always ask if it's homemade first - lessoned learned! Their homemade potato salad was okay - a little bland so I added salt. They serve a large number of elderly customers so they're probably salt conscience for everyone's well being. Next time I will choose a different meal but seven out of eight people very happy is very good indeed! I cannot wait to go back again and maybe try their breakfast selections this time.
