I really do hate seeing restaurants struggle, especially the staff and this place failed on all fronts. First of all my expectations where not too high to begin with after reading reviews here and some other places. But I needed a nice place to take my date for a Valentine dinner and I settled for BREATHE. I made a reservation on OpenTable.com and a hostess called me a day later to confirm my rez. During the call I even asked her if the new restaurant "blues' had been resolved and she said "I believe they have been". Hmm, not too confident IMO. I mentioned to her that the date was special as it was the first Valentine dinner with my new girls and she claimed I would be very well taken care of. For the record, this place is supposed to be upscale so I would expect something similar to at least Capital Grille in service and food quality. Given the prices are about the same too. I arrive and we were seated immediately. Although we were seated in the middle of the room with my elbows touching the patron to my right and waiters bumping into on my left. It was so cramped that waiters were waiting for each other to clear the isle before they could serve food. No coat rack for my suit jacket either so it dragged on the floor of the back of my chair. Also, no black napkin offered even though I was in black slacks and dark shirt. So let the white lint fly!!! We were offered water and a bread place (We still dont know what kind of bread it was, but we didn't eat it. Not too tasty) and we placed our order for two glasses of wine. About 15 minuted later the wine arrived but it was not what we ordered, not even the right color. OK, no big deal they brought the right one, in about another 5 minutes and after about 5 apologies. Next we ordered the Portobello Mushroom stuffed with cheese appy. It came out in a reasonable amount of time and looked good and tasted good too. (Side not; there were 3 different couples using their cell phones and one was even using video conference while in the dining room, pretty tacky if you ask me. And the restaurant manager should have asked the patrons to excuse themselves) Also, the restaurant was not at capacity. Main course was ordered (Salmon with roasted potatoes $32 and the Scallops 3 colors $28). Let me begin with the plates looked nice but both dishes were severely undercooked. The salmon was so raw it was inedible. My scallops were cold in the middle and raw and lacked flavor. The potatoes that came with the salmon were over cooked and the asparagus that was served with the scallops was the only thing that was cooked properly. Food temperature is cooking 101 and it should never be an issue in a restaurant especially in a place that is supposed to be upscale. My recommendation is DO NOT spend your money at this restaurant, there are plenty of better options for the money. There is nothing appealing or unique about this place that would make me want to go back. read more

not worth the money and stuff is rude! i'm going out alot but never had such a negative experience and that's why i write my first review. i went there with my husband and and two friends for some drinks on the outdoor patio last saturday. we had already reservations for another restaurant that evening but we wanted to check this new place out. the martinis go there for $ 16. after we paid i was going with my friend to the restroom. since we were there the first time we asked the two ladies behind the check-in bar for directions. the older one asked us if we are paying guests. i was stunned. she than asked me why i give her a look! i was stunned. so i asked her why she gives me a look. so she said that the bathrooms are only for dine in guests only! i was stunned. i told her that we paid a lot of money for our drinks, if that's not enough. so than she was obnoxious enough to point out that we just had two drinks and one water and she admitted with that statement that she knew we were guests! i told her that she should know that we had 3 drinks and a water and that this is worth a review. i asked for her name and she said she's mike and the owner! i think her behavior was nonsense or it just makes sense if she wants this restaurant to fail. anyhow no guest should be treated like this - that's a no go! and we were planing on going there for food another evening but not after this! read more

Breathe is definitely a good place to eat, but what it lacks is variety. There's a handful of different seafood, shawarma, and gyro entrees, and little else. Also, BIG WARNING, the menu featured on their website is completely different than the one they use in the restaurant. We used the Groupon and felt the price was pretty reasonable but without it, Breathe is way overpriced. The entrees were only slightly overpriced, but the cheap house wine and appetizers were ridiculous; if we actually payed what we should have been charged without the Groupon (around $65), I would have felt ripped off. read more

My advice: stay away! On a Saturday night, there were a handful of customers and two people at the bar. That should have been my first clue that it would not be a good experience. Totally incompetent waitstaff and equally incompetent management. Food not cooked to the temperature it was ordered (and then told that it could ONLY could be cooked medium/medium well). Other dish was inedible, chewy and tasteless. I've never been to a Mediterranean restaurant that doesn't serve rice with a dish and then has a $4 upcharge for it. I've never, ever had such a terrible experience at a restaurant that words can't even describe it. There are so many great restaurants out there, go anywhere else. read more

To be honest the only good thing about our experience was the staff member lucky otherwise we could not wait to leave. I'm not one to be overly critical but we went for hookah, it took 30 minutes to get the hookah out and we were given a drink menu but no one ever returned to ask for our drinks. The crowd seemed severely underage and the scene itself made us all extremely uncomfortable The place looked dirty and poorly taken care of. Overall never again. The service was excellent despite being understaffed to handle a few larger groups that were in that evening. I wasn't a fan of where we had been seated as well as the noise level in the restaurant. I think when designing restaurants they should put more effort into acoustics that take drunk volume into account. The food was decent but I'm on the fence about a return visit. We started out with the grilled octopus which was cooked nicely. I had the scallops and my boyfriend had the salmon. The scallops were cooked perfectly and sweet. I read all the reviews below and it seems a pretty odd mix of really happy or really not, but here is what I can tell you. My expectations where to be served politely, to have a good meal, and to be comfortable on a double date we had with some good friends. We had no problem finding parking on Friday night at 8:00pm, and was not forced to valet or anything like that. We were seated immediately and the tables and seats were clean and the place actually looked pretty nice. Not sure what some are expecting but it was nice enough for us and we even made a comment to each other that it was nicer than we had expected. (it is not amazing, but not bad). The place was chilly, so don't wear shorts, and it took us a while to get out food, but that is about the only negatives I can give it. The reason I still give it 5 stars, is because when the food was taking forever to come, I said to our friends that they better be cooking to order and the food better be amazing. The thing is it was. It was very authentic, very good, and the portion was huge. I get out ALL THE TIME in Boca and Delray and often find myself just unsatisfied with the food that should be amazing based on reputation, location, and price. I lived in San Francisco for a while, so used to really good food everywhere. This was the first meal (I got the mixed grill) that I felt really satisfied me and that I found myself thinking I wish I had two stomachs to start again. It was just really really good. The waiter and the cook came by regularly and were super nice. Everyone has their own opinion, but I just added this place to one of the 2 or 3 spots I would go back to on a regular basis and it was the best meal I have had on the Atlantic period. read more

Went there with my wife and 2 friends tonight. We had two appetizers, the rock shrimp (bigger than most restaurants) and the obergene salad (very good). I had the lobster ravioli and my wife had the porcini ravioli, both were excellent. However, I was totally jealous when my friend's lamb chops arrived. I'll try the steak when I go back next time. Girls nite out! I was very impress by the atmosphere and the decor of the restaurant side of this establishment. We had high expectations for the food and was not disappointed. The food although quite different from our usual cuisine was delicious, served hot and plated nicely. The food was good to the taste and to the eye. We ordered 2 appetizers and 4 different dishes on the menu. The portions were good and tasty. However, the server left a lot to be desired. We had to wait an unusually lengthy time to get the bill and even longer to pay the sever. Thus, the 4 stars. My group love eating out and would travel for good food! After purchasing a certificate, we made a reservation for 5pm through Urban Spoon and got an email confirmation but no phone confirmation. We called 8 times to confirm and left one voicemail since the restaurant was 35 miles away. We never got a response so we left early and confirmed the reservation in person at 4:15 pm. When we returned to the restaurant, the GM said that we were not allowed to stay because they had a big party. I told him that we did not mind and that we had tried to confirm multiple times. He tried to dissuade us multiple times by saying that the "Groupon" did not allow for Sunday reservations (which was not the case with our Living Social coupon) and that we did not have a reservation (to which we showed him the email confirmation). When he had no legal way to say that we had to leave, he said "you could stay, as long as you don't mind that your food comes out cold." At this time, I offered to mark the coupon as used if he gave me the $65 that I had spent on it, but he refused with an attitude. Considering the fact that I was not sure that I would get a refund for the $65 I spent on the coupon, we stayed. The server Jessica was very professional and did all she could to undo the apparent lack of hospitality of the GM. Unfortunately, there was not much she could do to make the situation any better because minutes after she took our order, the leg of one the booth benches we sat on gave way. It was at this time that the GM came back (still with an attitude) and after arguing for a while, I was finally able to convince him to give me the $65 in exchange for marking the coupon as used. I cannot attest to the quality of food at this establishment (because we never got to taste it) but I can say that it is not worth it to go to a restaurant where there is an apparent lack of hospitality training in the leadership that is too proud to handle an issue with a customer in a logical manner. In the end, we walked out of Breathe and had dinner at Ziree Thai & Sushi next door which had an amazing Tom Kah Soup, Red Curry and Pad Thai. read more

Can't believe this place is still in business! I heard they had a phenomenal opening, and then didn't hear anything after that. Decided to give it a try one night, as I enjoy new restaurants. It is so poorly run!!!! They make you valet and pay, even though there is parking and it's off the Avenue. The restaurant was not busy, yet they sat us next to their huge 20 person party and had us share a waitress. One of the worst waitresses I've had in my life. She never came over, forgot orders, etc. I told the manager, who didn't care. I always think bad wait staff is a reflection of a bad manager. In this case, I was right! The only saving grace was the food was very good!! I would never return. It was super pricey. When you go out for an expensive meal, the food is only part of it. You expect service and ambiance. The place has potential but will never make it! May already be closed.......Save your money and try one of the much better pricey restaurants on the strip! read more

Met up with two other couples on a Thursday evening. We were the only patrons in the restaurant. After a long wait, four orders came out and the last two waited at least another ten minutes before their food was served. My chicken was very overcooked - tasted like dried rocks. This was our first time eating at Breathe and we will definitely be back! Our waitress told us the menu is completely new. It is now a New Orleans cajun/creole inspired menu. As a Louisiana native (born and raised and didn't leave until 2 years ago), I can say this food was excellent. We had an appetizer and two separate entrees. All were delicious. I'm so confused by the reviews on this page. I loved everything about the place, though I was told that the management had been recently changed. Perhaps that has a lot to do with it. Anyway, I just came from dinner at Breathe and was blown away... in all the right ways. This is the best meal I've had, hands down, in a long time. Coming from living in Los Angeles for 15 years, I have been pretty spoiled by some of the best restaurants in the country and am an admitted food snob. I will tell you that the food here rivals any of the top LA restaurants and just kills the "all atmosphere-no substance" competition east of Swinton. My dining companions and I sat at the bar and had a great time being served by Jessica. We weren't in a hurry and she let us dine at our own pace. There was no rush to get our order and get us out the door as so many American restaurants like to do. We started with the shrimp & tabbouleh appetizer which was delicious. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the tabbouleh salad was fresh and not overdressed. For an entree, I had the filet mignon with parmesan potato gratin. The presentation alone earns it 5 stars, but the taste was incredible as well. The steak was cook perfectly and so tender. The potato gratin was ridiculous. I will be dreaming of that tonight. My friends shared the short ribs with mashed potatoes. I tasted the ribs and they were delicious. Finally, we were brought a tiramisu for dessert from the chef himself. To be honest, I don't love tiramisu normally, but this could change my mind. I find that most tiramisu is just overly soaked in rum so that's all you taste. This was just the right balance of rum and creme - light and not overly sweet. So, if you're looking for a really excellent food experience, head to Breathe immediately before the chef is stolen away by one of the new Miami restaurants. He's serving fresh farm-to-table food that is superb. And so you know, valet was complementary. read more

If not for our promotional coupon we would have walked out. We were the only two guests on a Saturday evening. This place seems doomed to close ... The decoration reminded us of a cheap beauty parlor. The prices were completely out of line...Very expensive! The food was ok but certainly not at the level of the prices. $8 for a cup doubtful tomato soup $32 for short ribs tasty but very dry the best part of the meal was a moist and very tasty salmon served with A kind of oriental topping on a bed of warm potato salad. Our best souvenir was the very polite waiter. He was apologetic when we shared our comments. The manager who saw that we were not happy but did not even have the courtesy to come to our table ... using a groupon, we thought it was worth a try. we were mistaken. we walked into a completely empty restaurant. this was a telltale sign as to the future. the restaurant is very pretty and service was fine. there was an up charge for what we offered and although i did not think that was warranted, i agreed. the shrimp dish was stated to be U 5, extremely large shrimp. to our dismay they served the smallest shrimp we had ever seen on a skewer. the fish we ordered also had an up charge. although very good, was pathetically small. actually it was about 1/4 of a normal serving. mashed potatoes were cold. to there credit, they removed the up charge after i complained. needless to say, we will NEVER return. read more

I cannot say enough about the ambiance, food, drinks. they have a huge bar selection. Next the chef comes out personally to check on you and ensure satisfaction. The food for as slow as, they may seem is alllll fresh n homemade. The falafel n hummos is unsurpassed. I am Syrian, and can attest to quality of Mediterranean flair. The chef came sat at our table. Brought us complimentary cream brule torching it table side. He is amazingly talented. His lamb chops were rubbed in brown sugar and spices. Tender, juicy. i.got using a groupon but i.will come back and pay retail.cause he.buys everything fresh that day. He said there is not even room for a freezer walk in back there. All food is fresh. This place is nothing short of amazing! A great place for happy hour and delicious food. My favorite dish was the Chilean seabass, sweet and savory. The staff was very friendly and attentive to make sure my visit was splendid. The ambiance is something out of a magazine with the decor and lighting being soothing and comfortable. This is one of my favorite places to eat. The restaurant section is open from 5pm-10pm but it's usually best to get there before 8 if you're trying to enjoy a peaceful meal. The new Cajun menu is to die for, like literally to die for. Grade A+ to the chef! After 8pm the club scene here is fantastic, there's comfortable lounge areas to sit back relax, enjoy a hookah while enjoying the music, but after around 10:30 the club is popping! On the weekends it's open until 2am and the club honestly doesn't stop until the lights turn on!!! I love this place and I'm definitely going to come back for more! read more
