Walking in La Marsa, we were welcomed by pita being baked fresh in an oven. The decor is beautiful, with what look like cherry blossom trees adorning the middle of the restaurant. Even the tables, chairs and banquettes were really stylish! The server was extremely helpful k choosing a dish, and our water glasses were never less than half full. We were three people, and wanted to see if the Signature for 2 would suffice. Luckily they were able to make it for three! The meats were absolutely tender, perfectly seasoned - the lamb shanks, which are not necessarily my meat of choice were out of this world. The fattoush salad was delightful with crispy fried pita, sumac (my favorite spice) and a light but tangy and flavorful dressing. The pita was as fresh as fresh could be, the toom was creamy and garlicky. The hummus... oh that hummus! It was so creamy - possibly one of the smoothest hummus I have ever had. I loved the addition of roasted vegetables to the main dish and the rice was a great accompaniment. All I can say is that I want to try the entire menu!!!! I guess that means I'll be back! read more

4.5 stars - A welcome addition to West Delray Beach, FL La Marsa continues to prove why it's one of our favorite local Mediterranean restaurants. I first discovered them while on a business trip in Michigan, so I was excited to find a location near home and it did not disappoint. Our server, Sam, was very helpful. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to make recommendations while making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. His willingness to please his customers really stood out and made for an even better dining experience. They start you off with warm homemade pita served with a delicious garlic dip. Most entrees come with 2 sides and we had the lentil soup and also shared a large Fattoush salad. The dressing was incredibly flavorful and complemented the fresh ingredients perfectly. For our entrées, we ordered a Shrimp kabob and the Chicken kabob, both with rice and a few other garnishes. The clear winner was the lemon oregano sauce on the chicken as it's packed with bright, savory flavor and takes the kabob to another level. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and generously portioned. I look forward to trying other menu items in the future. We went for dinner with a group of neighbors, some of whom had previously dined at La Marsa and wanted to return because they had a good meal. The experience for this evening was somewhat mixed though as a few the diners in our group did not enjoy their meals as much as the rest of us. The restaurant offers a wide range of Mediterranean dishes including vegetarian entrees as well as those featuring chicken, beef, lamb and seafood. We began with the "starter combo" consisting of three types of dips and toppings - hummus, baba ghanoush (eggplant), and tabbouli (parsley salad with tomatoes and scallions) - served with warm pita bread. Each of these were delicious. We also shared a plate of falafel, which were fried patties made from fava beans and chickpeas. They were also very good. For our entrees, some of us had Koshary, which is listed on the menu as a traditional Egyptian dish consisting of pasta, rice, lentils, and fried onions in a tomato sauce. I added the optional chicken, and the others had the vegetarian version. I also opted for the spicy sauce, which had a nice zest without being overpowering. I thoroughly enjoyed the unique flavor combination. The portion size was fairly large and I took half home. The Koshary comes with a side dish such as soup, salad or grilled veggies. I had the crushed lentil soup, which was excellent although I would have preferred some larger pieces of lentil. The other diners in our group also very much enjoyed their lentil soup. The grilled veggies side dish included large pieces of zucchini, squash and other veggies. It was a perfect fit with the vegetarian Koshary dish. One person in our group had the lamb kabobs. They were tender and tasty. The portion size was large for this dish as well. Another person had the BBQ shrimp with french fries. The shrimp were large and flavorful. He would have liked more BBQ sauce on the shrimp though. And another person had the stir-fried veggies with pieces of salmon and a side of rice. She requested it to be spicy but instead it was made with a sweet BBQ sauce that overpowered both the veggies and the salmon. Disappointing. My husband had the sauteed chicken, which included mushrooms and garlic made with "Mediterranean seasonings". He enjoyed the flavors as well as the accompanying french fries. He had the garden salad, which was topped with a delightful dressing. The only issue was that the salad contained an overabundance of onions. The restaurant has a warm atmosphere with comfortable seating. The service was good but not exceptional as we needed to request water refills a few times. They were fairly busy on a Friday night, so reservations are recommended. Because La Marsa does not have a liquor license, they allow customers to bring their own wine without charging a corkage fee. Nice! Overall, we had a good meal and an enjoyable evening even though the food was not loved by everyone. Since Mediterranean flavors can be quite different at various restaurants, some people simply may not enjoy the taste. My husband and I certainly did and we will keep La Marsa on our list of restaurants to visit in the future. read more

I've come back for dinner and it was delicious. I had chicken liver with rice and salad my company had shawerma with rice and fries. They loved their meal and then they tasted mine and couldn't believe how tasty my plate was. Also had fresh babaghanough and hummus and the babaghanough had a slight smoke to it was delish. So glad this place exists! It's beautiful, the staff is kind, the food is memorable. read more

Got there on time for a Thursday 8pm reservation. We were seated in a couple of minutes, given menus, ordered drinks. We had a few questions which were answered and we ordered. We started with meat grape leaves which were very good. I generally prefer rice -stuffed, but I enjoyed these and my companion absolutely loved them. They were served with a good lebneh. We also had baba ganouje which was sooo delicious. Entrees were chicken ghallaba which I had spicy. Very good. Companion had moussaka which was very unusual. Not the usual lasagna style. We had been to their first restaurant in Coral Springs and liked it, so we were looking forward to their new venue. We decided to stop by for lunch -- after our friends decided not to join us there for the weekend. It's a good thing we went for lunch, as we heard they were totally sold out/booked up already for the weekend. And even though we came for a late lunch, most tables were full and folks were still coming in at 1:30 pm/2 pm. We'd been to this shopping strip before. There's parking out front. There's no sign up yet, so just look for the suite numbers. It's located on the north end. We started with a small pot of hot mint tea to share. A nice addition to our meal. Based on our server's recommendations, we chose an entree as opposed to a sandwich from their lunch menu. The entrees include two sides for only a bit more. We added a small order of hummus. This was creamy and delicious. Perfect with the (comp) freshly baked hot small pita puffs. You can watch them cook the pita in the oven right by the counter/bar when you come into the restaurant, btw. The pita comes with a garlicky dipping sauce. For our entrees, my husband chose lamb chili to start and I upgraded to a fatoush salad. The salad was wonderful with crispy pita bits. I shared some of it. My husband says he'd get the chili again. You get to choose soup or salad. For our main, we both chose the meat shish kafta. It was a large portion with two skewers of ground meat. The plate had roasted veggies (carrot and peppers); tomatoes and onions; pickled turnips; and small cup of sauce. My choice of side was a fluffy rice -- it was topped with almond slices. He had well done French fries. We got some more sumac spice which we liberally added to everything. Dipped the meat into the sauces and the hummus, too. Everything was great. For dessert, we got an order of kunefe (kinefe/ kunefah) . They have other desserts, but this one is my husband's favorites. They served the piece of freshly warmed pastry then poured a small pitcher of sweet syrup over the top. It was absolutely yummy -- not too sweet. Just perfect. Having dined at the Coral Springs location a while back we were eagerly awaiting the opening of their restaurant in Delray. The parking lot was fairly full but we did find a spot nearby. Upon entering we saw they were fairly full but we were greeted and seated at a seat near the window. (At 1:30, people were still lining up for a table). A large menu as well as a Lunch Special menu with many great favorite dishes and hand helds. I chose the Shish Kafka with Lamb chili and fries. We shared a pot of mint tea and were not disappointed when our entrees arrived! Delicious and generous servings. We even took some home. Saved room for dessert ... my favorite ... Kunefe! good reviews on Yelp so we decided to give it a try. It was a Monday night so it was quite quiet, but I did have reservations prior to the season ending. It was very crowded every time I pass this restaurant so I made reservations I had the grilled salmon which was good. It came with two sides. If you wanted to upgrade it, they charge me an extra dollar for the vegetables and an extra dollar cause I upgraded the salad to Greek. I thought that was pretty tacky a dollar extra for vegetables salad. I can understand ! we also had the lamb platter, which was a bunch of little taste of foods which was good. The waiter was nice, but not that attentive. I finally got our check, but we were in no hurry actually so it didn't make a big difference. I had read reviews in Nextdoor, a community newsletter so we decided to try it with neighbors. On a Thursday night, the place was packed. It is a new Mediterranean restaurant from Michigan with another location in Coral Springs. Huge menu. No bar or wine list so you can bring your on wine without a corkage fee. Started with the Starter Combo, A Combo Pleasing to Everyone: Hommous, Baba Ghannooj and Tabbouli. Served with small pitas, very good. For mains, I opted for the Lamb Kabobs, 2 Skewers of lamb marinated and grilled. Ordered medium and it came out well done , also lacking taste and flavor. My wife selected the Mousaka, eggplant , baked with fresh tomatoes, onions, green peppers, garlic and seasonings. Not the Greek style but they said an Egyptian style. Both dinners come with a choice of 2 sides, soup or salad. My wife chose the Chicken Vegetable Soup and I got the salad, not descript. For an upcharge you can get Fattoush Salad, Greek Salad, or Tabbouli Salad , should have ordered the Greek Salad. Other sides are Rice Pilaf, Fries, or Grilled Vegetables for a $ 1 upcharge. I went for lunch today and had an amazing experience. The server brought out piping hot homemade bread rolls with a dish of garlic paste (omg this could have been my meal). Then my lunch special came out and I ordered the vegetarian platter with hummus, tabouli, falafel and rice, side of tahini. This entire lunch was amazing from beginning to end. Hold your horses, this platter was a whopping $12.99. I was beyond impressed by the quality and freshness of each and every item, I feel like going back for dinner tonight, except I am stuffed. If you are a fan of middle eastern cuisine, make this place your next stop. Service was spot on and ambience is beautiful and spotless. I didn't do dessert but the baklava looked delicious. The "Opening Soon" sign has been teasing me for weeks in San Marco Plaza. Finally opened this week!! And I was so afraid after all the anticipation I would be dissappointed. Not at all, in fact they over delivered. The humus and pita bread appetizer was AMAZING, I had the beef kabobs and could only eat 1/2 and also very good. My wife had the Oregano Chicken and she liked it very much, but also could only eat 1/2. Mariem was our was out server and probably the nicest one we have had in a while. The food is amazing! Very similar to Greek. We ordered the sampler for two, chicken, beef, lamb and kafta. It came with the best hommous, fresh salad and these fresh baked bread pockets. My boss found this place near our work and we went for lunch! The lunch menu had a great variety of items for a great price. I wish I would've taken photos but I ate everything too quickly before I could remember, it was that good! Upon walking into the restaurant, the ambiance was nice and there was a brick oven! I knew I was in for some good bread. They bring out fresh (still steaming hot) pita bread and toum to the table... I was in heaven. I got the shish tawook (lemon oregano) entree with a Greek salad & fries! All of the flavors were delicious and I would definitely go again. Spent less than $20 with tip! Service was quick and easy. My chicken Ka Bob with vegetables were grilled almost beyond recognition. I tried getting thru the meal as I was hungry but should've taken my wife's advice to send it back. A good dinner is not just about the food.... From the moment the unfriendly hostess squeezed us in between people like ducks in a row and NOT POLITELY refusing to give me one of MANY open tables right in front of us when I asked nicely and then 3 minutes later seated a couple at that table the ambience was gone , and 10 full minutes later hoping for at least recognition we were there with a glass of water we decided to leave. I liked the decor, earthtones, pinks and green. Our server, Mo, was attentive. As soon as we sat down he brought hot little pitas with garlic spread. He kept our glasses full and explained items on the menu. I started with a Cobra- fresh juice made with beets, orange, apple, and celery. It was delicious - order if you like beets. Their baba ghannooj was creamy and very smokey. Our lunch entrees included soup or salad and fries or rice. The fries were crispy, but coated. The toabbouli and Greek salad were fresh, but a little too heavily dressed. For our mains we tried the lamb chops and lamb kabobs. Both were very good. My companion liked my lamb chops better than his kebab. I liked his kebab better. It was moist and easy to eat. I also liked the small onion salad and garnishes. Desserts include a Dubai creation and a type of bread pudding - oma ali. We took home baklava. I thought it was expensive for 4 small pieces. The restaurant is on the end of the plaza, across from TD Bank, and was still waiting for their sign when we stopped in. I've ordered takeout from Marcia Delray Beach twice now, and both experiences have been outstanding. From the first bite, it's obvious that the ingredients are incredibly fresh. The vegetables, proteins, and sides are all expertly prepared, and the portions are generous. Although I haven't had the chance to dine in yet, the restaurant itself is beautiful. It's a large, thoughtfully designed space with a calming atmosphere and elegant décor. Every time I've visited, the restaurant has been spotless, efficiently run, and very welcoming. I believe the owner is the person who greets guests at the door, and he has been exceptionally friendly and hospitable. The last two times I ordered, I brought food back for my office team, and everyone unanimously gave it a 10 out of 10. The lemon chicken is absolutely delicious, and several of the specialty dishes we've tried have been fantastic. On our most recent order, we stepped outside our comfort zone and tried something completely new--and loved every bite. The food, service, atmosphere, cleanliness, and overall experience have all exceeded expectations. This is quickly becoming our new favorite restaurant in the neighborhood, and I look forward to dining in soon. read more

This new restaurant was packed on Saturday night, but they honored our reservation and sat us on time! As for the food, our party really enjoyed everything, but the beef was a little too dry. The mezz, salads and particularly the lamb chops were all great. Definitely one to put on your list, but make sure you make a reservation, especially on the weekend. read more

Newly opened Restaurant...by word of mouth super crowded. Everything was great. At first I thought the seating would be too close but it worked. Our neighbors were there but didn't hear them and had plenty of space. Food was ample. You get a nice size salad with yiur meal and soup. I choose the lamb soup which was a meal in itself. We had a 6:00 reservation on a Sunday evening. We arrived at 6:05 and had to struggle to get up to the hostess. We signed in and were told they were running behind. It appeared that they were also taking names of walk-ins and seating the walk-in's interspersed with those who had reservations. We were finally seated at 6:55. Water and bread were promptly placed on the table. At 7:05 we placed our food order. Soup and salad came out within five minutes. After that, we did not see our main courses until about 10 minutes of eight. I had the chicken livers and they were absolutely tasteless. My friend ordered her lamb kebab rare. It was almost raw. The noise level was high. I have not had such a negative dining experience in a long time. read more

Friendly staff which was nice. Tables are close together. There is nothing on the windows to soften the noise or to keep the sun from streaming in. Lots of upsell. Plus: $1 more for roasted vegetables, $1.50 more for a "greek" salad, $1 more for soup, $1.00 for lemon and oregano, etc. The lamb kabob and roasted vegetables were very dry. The chicken kabob was not as dry but was dry. Food came out too fast - while we were still working on our salads and appetizers. Had to flag someone down twice to get a refill on our drinks. No hot water in the bathroom and the soap dispenser was falling off the wall. Advertisements played in the bathroom on a screen which was weird. I saw it is a chain from Michigan. Went to LA Marsa (named after a region in Tunisia) after reading numerous accolades interviews in the NextDoor app. Food was properly flavored with fine seasoned ingredients. Best falafel balls I've ever had, and enjoyed a wholesome bowl of something called Fool(?). A rich assemblage of lentils, tomatoes and onions. One of the best restaurants I've been to,on par with Coriander in Boynton. 2 thumbs up!!! read more
