I've been to this establishment a few times over the past year. I am really grateful to have such a good place near my work place. The parking lot is in an odd space at the corner of Archer and Central, and I think it would do a better business if it were in a better location, but it's nothing we can change. Back to the food. I really think it's one of the best Asian food spots around the airport. It's always fresh, fast, and the servers are quick to refill your water. The price is right as well. Nothing too fancy. The dining room is small. It probably seats 20 at maximum capacity. The times I've eaten inside, there wasn't a problem because the tables weren't full. However, if it is, I would feel cramped and claustrophobic. I've had the pad thai which was decent, and my favorite is the basil chicken. I order it with broccoli and extra spicy. There is nothing bad that I can say about this place. The thai food is amazing! Frank and Bree, the owners, are some of the nicest people that I have ever met. I have been coming here for years and am amazed by the consistency of the food. Try the spicy basil chicken. Comes with carrots, bell peppers, and jalapeno if you want it spicy. Served over white rice. Another recommendation is the pineapple fried rice with chicken with jalapenos if you like it spicy. The shrimps in a blanket and crab ragoon are my favorite appetizers. They have a great lunch special during the week and on Saturdays. My family and I are addicted. Not a lot of thai options on the southside sadly so this is a true gem. P.S. Came here after spending three hours in Peaches. Apple Maps almost sent us off, so almost abandoning our mission to find the map, we found it! I'm so grateful we found it. This is a small place located on the corner of two major streets. The interior is fairly austere and is small. It's clean and neat and the service is very good. the important part: The food is excellent! I've been to many Thai restaurants and the food here actually has a slightly different flavor to it. At least with a couple of things I tried anyway. it was definitely good and I will be going back. Couple things to be warned about: 1. parking is fairly limited. 2. CASH ONLY! Nope, they don't take credit cards of any sort. Sucks! (But they are happy to point you to an ATM in the corner of the shop but of course it's one of those private ATMs will pay through the nose.) In today's day and age it seems a little silly they don't take cards but maybe they're new and they'll get with modern commerce but for now just be warned. Last week the bf and I was in the city together this afternoon and decided to go here for lunch close to 3pm. We were able to quickly locate parking in the lot. If ever looks were to be deceiving this would certainly be the restaurant. There's 8 tables with 2 seats available at each table, fresh roses were in the middle of the tables as a centerpiece. Our order was placed with Monica, who's the Manager. The food was something amazing, we started with the Bree sampler and it was served by Bree herself who informed us of the sauces that came out with it. He had the crazy noodles and I had the pan si ew noodles, both were delicious. During the return visit today we arrived about noon and the place was crowded, however we found parking in the lot and was seated upon walking in. I had the orange chicken and my bf had the southern fried thai rice which was also delectable. We are definitely going to be regulars here I love the family feel that you have when dining here. Finally a Thai Food restaurant near Midway that is worthy of going out and missing the Walking Dead! We usually go to Chinatown for Soup at 7 treasures, but since I am always in the mood for Thai (Hence my last meal on earth), we decided to try out the Bree Thai Restaurant that recently opened (3 weeks ago). Dang, they beat me to the punch of being the first to review. But anyway that is not important, but the real deal is the food get ready. I am a stickler for Thai food and you can even call me a snob because if it isn't authentic, I will gladly never come back. But this time I have to admit, I was super happy (so much so that if this was a cartoon, I would be doing back flips, somersaults and a triple lutz without the ice), happy that finally it seems someone on the South-West side, did Thai proud! The husband of the owner was absolutely charming and funny. So here it comes: My partner went in to make sure it was BYOB and to our surprise, it was. So we ordered an appetizer of Chicken Satay and Cucumber salad. I was pleasantly surprised that the Chicken Satay tasted every bit as some of the top Thai Restaurants in Chicago. The peanut sauce was different and very well thought out. It has the perfect taste and not the overpowering peanut taste some restaurants mask the taste with. Cucumber salad, well, okay for what it is, but what can cucumber salad really offer but that cool break? Now I order the Massanman Curry that consisted of Sweet potatoes (and mind you, only the really authentic places add this since it is time consuming, something I definitely appreciated today), carrots, potatoes, onions, green peas in massaman curry paste, coconut milk and topped with roasted peanuts. Oh lord was I in heaven, even the presentation proved to be nice in their white and chip-less glory plates. I am absolutely sure that although I will definitely try other dishes here (spoiler alert, I will be back), that this will probably be one of my fav dishes. I can really appreciate sweet potatoes in curry, seriously this is authentic and I did speak to the Chef and Owner (Bree) who knows a thing about Thai food since that is her heritage. She is a master at this art and this is hard to do. Now by the end of our meal, and mind you its quite often a seasonal dessert, I wanted sticky rice. Guess what? They had sticky rice with Mangoes! No way, usually around this time you don't find this anywhere. But here they were happy to tell me: "Yes we have that". And the rice was exceptional, you could of gave me the whole pot and I would be in calorie ridden heaven, not to mention a coma! At our delight, we were told that they wanted to surprise us with another dessert. Okay Thai Custard from a home made recipe? It was warm (hot) and just pleasing to the palate. I am about to pass out just talking about this super awesome dessert! Sticky Rice and Thai Custard or Thai called "Khao Niaow Sang Khaya" A classic Thai dessert and HEAVEN! If you like sticky rice, you're going to love this very simple but exotic Thai dessert! It had complexity but I say simple because it seemed so easy. Thank you to Bree and her husband for hooking me on this dessert and for just being "real" people who know how to do Thai very well. I am pleased to say, I am giving them a very rare 5 Star because finally the South West Side will be on the map with Thai food. I am sure that the Midway Area will help me in welcoming them to our neighborhood and to know that they are about to do some great things for this area is a plus, meaning we will finally have variety such as the North Side with the taste. Boss insisted we take off early because of the gorgeous weather, so I stopped here for a late (2:00pm) lunch after I got off the Orange line. It is right on the NW corner of Archer & Central - and you might drive past it, like I did. Parking lot is small and shared with a few other stores. Big sign on the window - BYOB!! But since I was alone, and it was only 2pm, I skipped the wine this time. Walked in, the place is tiny. There is probably seating for 16, but that would be a very cramped 16, with the people and tables on top of each other. However, what I did like is that it was bright, clean, and had a very cheery vibe to it. The side that faces Central is a big window that lets in a ton of sunlight. I was the only one in the place, and greeted immediately with a big smile and menu. I ordered the vegetable tempura and green curry chicken. Tempura was a big portion of sweet potato, broccoli, red and green peppers and onions. The batter was light and the veggies were fresh - very good. The green curry was a huge portion in a deep bowl. It was filled with big pieces of chicken, eggplant, basil, bamboo, red peppers. It comes medium spice, which sometimes is not enough for me, but I didn't up it this time. The medium was really good - more spicy than I would have thought, and I loved it. The only thing about it that wasn't great, the eggplant did not seem fresh. I ordered a Thai iced tea to wash this down with. Great little gem of a restaurant and if I lived in the area, I would come often. I think the food and service were spot on. It's tough to find a halfway healthy meal around Midway, but this new spot is a great option for something fairly light before catching a flight. They've only been open a few weeks, but are pretty on point with their recipes. The curry noodle with peanut sauce was a tasty balance of sweet and savory. It has large glass noodles and broccoli chunks steamed to perfection. The green curry was spicy, but not too spicy and also had veggies slow cooked to just how I enjoy them. I was overly satisfied with everything that we ordered will happily stop in again before a return trip to SD. It's the only Thai place within miles so if you want something that will satisfy your stomach without giving you that fat person feeling on the plane give them a go. I am going to keep this short & simple. GO HERE!! Every dish is made-to-order with fresh ingredients and seasoned just right! Bree's Curry Puffs remind me of my mom's Empanadas! And her dessert of Sweet Sticky Rice reminds me of my Lola's (grandma's) Sweet Rice. I can not stay away from her Pad Thai! I try to order something different but always end up getting the Pad Thai with Tofu & Shrimp. Not only is the food delicious, the service is excellent! The owners are so friendly and really down-to-earth people. Along with all the praise about the excellent food, they want to hear the criticisms as well. They say you only have 1 chance to make a good first impression... ...and, unfortunately, that did not happen. I've ordered from Bree Thai before, but hubby did not. He agreed to give them a try, as they deliver and we were both a bit under the weather with head colds. We called and ordered at 5:30 pm. After a couple of additional phone calls, at 7:10 PM, the food finally arrived. It was tepid at best, and did not taste fresh, as though it had been sitting in the delivery car for quite awhile. I've had better Pad Thai from Trader Joe's freezer case! BTW, two entrees and two appetizers, delivered, cost $28 and change. There's no other Thai restaurants in the Midway area, and I like to support and patronize local businesses. I just ordered from here for the first time and the food came faster than any order I've ever placed. The person on the phone asked me my full name and introduced himself and even made conversation. Small things like that make all the difference to me. Bree herself the owner delivered our food and shook my hands and said she hoped I enjoy everything. Again customer service is awesome. Now for the food, I got the pad prik king special worth crispy pork and it was perfectly spicy and sweet at the same time. The pork was crispy and delicious. My girlfriend ordered the pad woon sen and she said it was delicious. The curry puffs though small in size are packed with amazing flavor. I called the restaurant and began placing an order for pick up. Everything I said, the girl taking the order repeated back to me the wrong thing. I was getting nervous and asked if she was going to be able to get my order right. Dead silence. The call dropped and I just decided to go there and order in person to prevent any miscommunication. My boyfriend ordered the lemon shrimp. Originally, when I tried ordering it over the phone, she repeated lemon chicken back to me. Well, he got lemon chicken and not the lemon shrimp. So, I called them to let them know and was told they would deliver the right item to my house. I get a call back a few minutes later to say that she wrote down lemon chicken and that's what I ordered. He said there's nothing he can do. She repeated the order back to me. I don't recall her repeating the order, but I also would have noticed if she said chicken instead of shrimp due to her already making that mistake over the phone. He was like it's not our fault. My boyfriend was standing right there and said I ordered the right item, which I did. He doesn't care for it and he loves chicken. It's all breading and hardly any chicken. I also ordered my pad Thai extra extra Thai spicy. I also ordered my soup that way. The soup is spicy like I like it. The pad Thai isn't. I feel like I just wasted $70.
