The best Chinese I have had in 23 years of living in Chicago & Oak Park. Egg rolls, fried rice, and the usuals are all done very well.

Recently I placed an order, it was a $40., order for delivery. I had planned on giving a $10., tip. I like to promote Small Businesses in the neighborhood. After placing my order, the gentleman says about 30 minutes. As he was about to hang up the phone, I said, don't you want my card number. His reply... Since you are a new customer, it's cash only for first order!!! I literally live two minutes away. I figured if this is their "alleged policy", this Small Business doesn't need money!!! The only reason they received two stars is because of the portion size. Otherwise this along with most places is some extremely bland & virtually flavorless food. Most of the ingredients in the shrimp fried rice resides at the top of the container. The chicken portion of the sweet & sour chicken resembles frozen chicken in texture & taste. Sometimes you don't want to pay $50 for Chinese food. When I'm riding solo and have a craving for Chinese, this is my go to. It's close to Chinatown plus they have lunch specials. None of the restaurants in Chinatown offers lunch specials so if you're looking for authentic Chinese food which offers lunch specials, this is your place. Ordered shrimp and chicken kow from them after consumption ,I started throwing up and I had bad stomach cramps with loose bowels. My boyfriend ordered shrimp and chicken fried rice he stated his food was ok . I had a case of food poisoning .We called back next day and the clerk started. " I don't know what happened we were very busy yesterday, she refused to refund our money. We will not be patronizing that establishment ever again . We work hard for our money , to not get decent food that we paid for and you take our money and crap on us when we complain. Bad customer service. This will be my last time ordering from this place. The establishment is very rude including management. This place use to be a great Chinese restaurant, but after last year the food looks and taste like crap. When you call to talk about your order the person who takes the order or answers the phone is rude. This female needs a crash course in phone etiquette! When you ask to speak with the manager or owner you're told they are out. I think they are racist and think they are above everyone else. This restaurant act like they are doing me a dam favor. Amazing food, portion sizes and prices! They packed everything for delivery with care, they left the orange chicken open to prevent if from getting soggy and the orange sauce is automatically served in the side! We have enough food for dinner, lunch and dinner tomorrow night! I have never written a review in my life. This situation has forced me to. Yesterday I was walking past Happiness and 80 year old asian women got hit and dragged by a car while she was riding her bike. We ran over to try to help her. This poor elderly women head was cut open and there was blood everywhere. She didn't speak english. So I ran in Happiness to ask the women working behind the counter if she or anybody in the kitchen can translate. She flat out said No. I said really no ? She walked me to the door and looked at the bleeding elderly women in the middle of the street and said no again and went back in the restaurant. People like that I really pray that they learn compassion. I mean would if that happen to her mother. I'm sure she would of wanted someone to help her. I will never order from the them again. Gross. Happiness must have changed hands because it's not the same as it used to be. I hadn't eaten food there in some time but one night I decided to order takeout. We ordered shrimp fried rice, egg rolls, beef & pea pods, shrimp with broccoli and orange chicken. When I called to place the order the young lady who answered was nice but she seemed to be in a hurry. I could barely get the order out before she was rushing me off the phone. When I said I wanted orange chicken she told me the sauce was on the side which struck me as odd but I didn't really know what that meant until I got the order. They no longer deliver to my area (they did before) so I went to pick up up. I live .7 miles from the place. It was ready in less than 15 minutes. The food had NO flavor. The rice was bland and the egg rolls were greasy and burnt. The orange chicken wasn't orange chicken at all. It was a disgusting version of sweet and sour chicken. The beef with pea pods was decent but the shrimp and broccoli was below average at best. Happiness used to be our go to spot for Chinese food but that night it was a HUGE disappointment. We felt like we'd thrown $40 out the window. It was so bad we didn't even eat the leftovers. Most of the food when into the trash the same night. Oh well, guess it's time to find another go to Chinese spot in the area. Sigh. I'm done with Happiness forever. read more

The food here is just "ok". It's an average chinese restaurant.. nothing spectacular. Oh, but I do have to give them credit for their won ton soup... yumm! I've never eaten at the restaurant, but when I do place an order over the phone and provide my phone number to the guy.. I have to wait about 5 seconds before giving him the next digit of my phone number (i.e.: 7 (5 sec), 7 (5 sec), 3 (5 sec). THEN, once I get there to pick up my food, he'll verify the order by asking for your phone number. I whisper my phone number to him.. then he repeats it very very loud for the entire restaurant to hear. LOL. This guy cracks me up.. and it happens every time. When you place the order for delivery, they get to your door... call you on your phone, then say, "We deliva". So I of course, try to clarify it by asking, "are you here?" I am very picky about my sweet and sour chicken and when I received my order and seen that they separated the chicken and the sauce per my request I was already won over.
