Since they raised their prices; they have gotten so cheap on everything. I ordered their combo with beef, chicken, and shrimp. There was only one shrimp. Their beef so chewy and lousy and their chicken had no taste. Its so sad how downhill the food is now. It used to be good but not any longer. There are so many better Chinese restaurants around that care about the customers. This one sure doesn't. read more

Really great experience here. Why do I crave Chinese on Mondays!??! So annoying. So, I'm on my way home when I get an undeniable hankering for Chinese food. I have to find a place open on Mondays! I did! They are closed on Tuesday! Genius level right here. I order over the phone, the person who answered was great she even asked me twice if I was going to the right location. I don't know if there's another or just a different place people confuse them with, either way she was trying to save me the trouble. I ordered a small kung pao chicken, medium heat, extra peanuts and she asked if I wanted them on the side... yes, please... large pork fried rice and two egg rolls. I enjoyed that kung pao, it was very tasty and a good portion of chicken. Good sauce, tasty fresh peanuts. I love nuts in my food. The egg rolls here are skinny but tasty, they are standard egg rolls with nothing creepy inside, solid. The pork fried rice was good. Again, solid for sure cause I had two servings and felt Chinese food wasted after! I will make this place my alternative option for fresh, quality Chinese food. Yum! read more

For Chinese places near me for carryout it's the best place I've been to. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge for the combination plates. Orange chicken is piled high the Mongolian beef and pepper steak are the best top three dishes in my opinion. read more

At 1st Chop Suey I've never had them get an order wrong. In 20 years this has been the place we use at least a couple times a month. They also now take credit cards (for a $.30 service fee). They don't have a huge selection menu like some newer places but everything they do here is spot on. Even the lunch specials are great and a good value. We love their egg foo young quite a bit. Usually we get ham but the shrimp or combo is good too. Cooked fast and not burnt with lots of gravy makes it a winner. The pan fried noodles are excellent and always made to order, not left limp and soggy in a bin. And the egg drop soup is one of my favorites. There are a couple things I don't care for here like Crab Rangoon (too oily) or Orange Chicken (thick gelatinous sauce with heavy dark spicy peppers) but there are so many good offerings who can pass it up? The family that runs the place is great and even though a terrible traffic accident on I55 a few years ago hit the family hard by losing a few family members on their way home from work, they continued smiling and serving up their huge portions. I may occasionally visit other local sit-down table service Asian restaurants but this is my take out choice by far. read more

I ordered a take out for my family. We ordered 3 dishes for under $20!! I got small order of beef broccoli, small sweet and sour chicken and small order of chicken cashew nuts. Their small portion were soo big! It lasted two meals for each of us. They all came with a very tiny small side of rice. But that's ok for us since we don't really eat rice that's much, anyway. I ate the Beef Broccoli. It has broccoli, mushroom, water chestnut and bamboo shoots! It was good and delicious. I'll definitely order it from them again read more

Best in the Midway area. Have been eating here for over three years. If you do not want to drive to China town, or drive at all. Have them bring you a great meal. This is one of the best family Chinese food in the area. They are fast, they have never messed up an order, they do it right there on the spot and the food is really good. The menu is extensive so there is always something for everyone. The portions are huge, so unless you have double stomach, a small portion is more than enough for two people. Food was fresh, fresh crispy veggies, tender chicken, tender shrimp, food was not too salty.. absolutely great tasting. I ordered the Szechuan Chicken lunch special. You can't really tell by the angle of the photo but they filled up my plate to the max , i enjoyed every bit. I also ordered a mango tapioca smoothie, it was Ok. Wanted some quick food close to my job. I read the other reviews here, so I gave it a try. Ordered chicken fried rice, Singapore style noodles and Mongolian beef. Only the fried rice was acceptable. The Singapore noodles were bland, they gave me half an onion that was nearly raw. The noodles were very soggy and oily. The Mongolian beef was made from cuts of meat that seemed to be days old. They smelled terrible. Again, there was too much onion. And it was undercooked. I don't know what the other reviewers are thinking. This is terrible Chinese. Don't order from here. read more

More than once they have forgotten to put sauces in the bag (sweet & sour and soy) how does that happen? Also dislike what thickening agent they use for their gravy. It's awful to reheat.
