As this was our first time purchasing a used boat, we were new to the process. Jay, our broker, was knowledgeable, honest, and went out of his way to ensure the deal went as smoothly as possible. He was always readily reachable and flexible with our scheduling, surveys, and haul outs. After the closing of the deal, there was a miscommunication (most likely our fault) about how long we would be able to keep the boat in its current slip. A week prior to our planned relocation, Jay informed us that the lease for the slip was up that day. We were panicked, with nowhere to keep the boat for at least a couple days. Without batting an eye, Jay went to the boat and moved it to their brokerage dock until we could sort out the relocation. Thank you, Jay, for going above and beyond and turning a stressful situation into a seamless one. 10/10 would do business with this company again.

They hide them on the docks and keep them locked up when they are not even there. It is not clear to me what they need 2 - 3 dock carts for since these boats stay in a slip all the time, but if this is the way they treat their neighbors, I would not trust them to sell my yacht, and would not trust them to broker a purchase. The pic was taken on a busy Sunday morning in summer when they are closed, and dock carts are difficult to come by.

I've had Quantum stitch a few sails for us, and they did really great work. When I needed a new used sail, Jay actually went with my wife and I down to Minnie's in Newport, about an hour drive to help us select the exact right sail for our 44' Hudson Seawolf ketch. We were so impressed with Jay and Quantum that we went back and ordered a top of the line sail pack for our Main and Mizzen. This was a serious investment, these things are not cheap and we are not rich. So we were quite dismayed that after only a season or normal use the webbing that holds the pack up to the mast, totally disintegrated! I realized right away that the webbing that was used was not UV protected. So now I had to make the call to Quantum, expecting that since it had been so long, they were not going to help us out on this one. I called Jay on his cell, he answered right away and within a 10 seconds of me explaining what happened, he stopped me and said they were aware that this mistake had happened to a few customers but was unaware I had been effected. Jay right away offered to come down and take the sail packs off the boat himself and fix them right away without charging us. I was so blown away! We figured this guy works so hard, we took the packs off ourselves and brought them in. Jay had them back to us in a week! This kind of service is getting very hard to find these days, and this gentlemen deserves to be recognized for his exemplary service, and so does Quantum for giving there employees the leeway to make these kind of service decisions. -Robert
