We decided to try Breezeway Cafe this morning based off of the great Yelp reviews. There are several coffee shops right by the pier and it can be hard to figure out which ones are good. Luckily, Yelp didn't steer us wrong on this one. Even though Breezeway is a coffee shop, they have quite an extensive menu that also includes a lot of gluten-free options. That being said, we weren't there for a proper breakfast. Although, we did overhear a lot of people talking about their amazing waffles and pastries. My husband ended up getting a pumpkin muffin to eat while we waited for our coffees. Mid-muffin, the power shut off in the cafe. There was an announcement made that they were having difficulties in the kitchen (due to the lack of power) and that they could only offer drinks and waffles moving forward. Then shortly after that, they lost even more power. Since we hadn't received our drinks yet, I approached a woman behind the coffee bar (who I assume was the owner). She said she'd done the espresso shots for our coffees but wasn't able to finish them. I told her we'd be happy to take our drinks cold even if that meant just throwing the shots on ice. She was such a good sport about it and made two amazing specialty drinks on the fly with the shots. She also let us know that if we wanted to come back tomorrow morning, drinks would be on the house. I assured her that we'd be just fine with the drinks we had; however, I appreciated the amazing customer service. We'll be back tomorrow for more (paid) drinks and food to support this amazing local business. read more

Haven't been here since they used to be a crepe place (Mon Ami), but stopped by to grab some brunch and was pleasantly surprised! Server Kailey was friendly and super helpful with our order. We got the southwest and the veggie burrito togo and enjoyed every bite! Glad to see this place in pismo and think it's a great addition to the area. The breakfast burrito is a must! The portion is huge so I even had leftovers for the next day. The eggs were fluffy, the sausage was delicious, the tots added a nice crunch, and the sauce gave it great flavor. The salsa (on the side) was also good. My kids ate the Strawtella waffles (Strawberries and Nutella), and they loved it. I snuck a taste of my 3-year-olds waffles (the quarter slice remaining) and it was really good. The food here is marginal at best and the service is totally inconsistent. The breakfast burrito is bland and greasy. Spent $51 on breakfast for two adults and two kids. This included a 15% tip which they ask you for up front when you order. Then after three of the four meals were brought to our table, I waited another 10 minutes and still nothing. When I went back to the counter they said they forgot my order and refunded us that part. So, I had to split the burrito with my husband. The atmosphere is nice and the staff are friendly, but the food is marginal at best and the service is a joke. Way too expensive for what you get here. read more

Breezeway is obviously a family run business and they work hard to make their customers satisfied. I came for breakfast and their sunrise sandwich was very good. My wife had one of their waffles with Nutella, strawberries, and bananas and she was very happy. This is the place to eat if you are looking for a modest and reasonably priced meal. read more

If you find yourself walking down Pomeroy Ave and wonder what that delightful odor filling your nostrils happens to be... it's Breezeways waffles. OMG they are simultaneously crispy and fluffy and chewy and all of the amazing things you can think of that describe a perfect waffle. The avocado toast was one small slice of sour dough bread for $7, definitely not worth the money if you're trying to get avocado toast. Doesn't taste bad but not worth $7 for 3 bites. Chai tea was alright. I'm not sure about the other stuff on the menu but definitely not worth the money for that. read more
