The campground is spotless, which is something we really appreciate. The sites are well cared for, the facilities are clean, and you can tell the owners take pride in keeping everything looking great. We spent our mornings fishing, afternoons at the pool, and evenings roasting marshmallows or sitting by a warm fire. The arcade was a huge hit, especially when we wanted a break from the heat, and the snack shack was perfect for grabbing a quick bite without having to leave the campground. There was always something to do, but it never felt crowded or chaotic. What stood out most was how comfortable and enjoyable the entire experience was. It felt safe, family-friendly, and truly relaxing. We made some great memories here and were already talking about our next trip before we even packed up to leave. Highly recommended!

There was no shortage of things to do. The fishing was great, the swimming pools were clean and refreshing, and the arcade kept everyone entertained when we needed a break from the sun. The snack shack was convenient and had plenty of tasty options throughout the day. One of our favorite parts was cruising around in the golf carts and exploring the campground. Everything was easy to access, and the staff did a fantastic job keeping the grounds looking beautiful. If you're looking for a campground that offers fun activities, excellent amenities, cleanliness, and a relaxing atmosphere, this is the place. Highly recommend it to families and anyone looking for a great camping getaway!

Most sites that we could see had a definitive slant to it. Also, the one way roads route you through the permanent residents every time you come into the park. Worth getting over though because the people running the place are extremely friendly and helpful. Our month stay here was very enjoyable. We did not get to use the pool but it looked great. (daughter was sick - then it was raining). The little playground was nice. We would probably stay here again if we thought we could get a flatter site. Everything else was great.

This place is clean, my girls commented the bathrooms were super clean, the grounds were well manicured. A pool was offered, a mini front office/store, and bingo. You will be assigned a key card to re-enter the grounds, there is a gate at the front with only one road for incoming and outgoing. Owners were very nice. There are a few rules and might sound a little strict but any sensible camper won't have any issues. I can see where the Pocono Speedway could bring in the party people, again I had no issues. We stayed here as were doing Camelback adventures which was conveniently 10 minutes away. 15 min away is a Walmart, CVS. I would stay here again, and cost was reasonable. My site had full hookup.

How is that even acceptable? We stayed the weekend, Friday-Sunday. The prices were very reasonable and the site was very large. I was able to setup our 8 person tent on the pad. Our site had a fire pit and picnic bench, and also a spot to park our car, with plenty of room between everything. We also rented a boat slip for our boat. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We came in a bit late due to traffic issues on our way there, well past check in time. They got us checked in and said we can handle paying in the morning, including paying for firewood they were happy to give me without paying for now. The following morning I had a nice conversation with the owners while completing my check-in. There is a small shop there that sells much of what a camper may need. Food, milk, water, ice, snacks, sunscreen, firewood(at a more than fair price), fishing supplies, and much much more. Purchased firewood gets delivered to your site, so you do not need to lug a bundle or two of wood. Never did we have any noise issues, either from us or any surrounding camp sites. That was a very welcome perk. People who are interested in coming to camp won't have any issues. We weren't trying to stay whispering at night, but sitting around the fire having late night conversations at respectable levels. Without issue. I highly recommend this place for people who are looking for a great place to camp at the lake. You will NOT be disappointed. Thanks for the great stay!

I don't know if Pennsylvania is cutting costs or testing faith levels, but the drive absolutely required prayer. That said, and this is important, that was the worst part of the entire experience. Once you arrive, it's like stepping into a completely different reality. Parking is plentiful, clearly marked, and right in front of the buildings (including handicap and short-term spots, which we love to see). The facilities themselves? Beautiful. Clean. Extremely well maintained. No "rustic surprise mold" vibes here. Each room has its own bathroom, a thermostat, and AC, which means you're not stuck freezing, sweating, or silently resenting whoever controls the temperature. Huge win. There's also a cute little fire pit (weather permitting), a gym/fitness center, and a dining hall tucked under another residence building that honestly deserves applause. Because let's talk about the food. 10/10. Retreat food is usually a gamble, but Spruce Lake did not come to play. AND, possibly my favorite detail, the beverage machines. Coffee, drinks, and cups you can reuse or grab-and-go, which means you can take your coffee with you like a civilized adult. In the same building, there's a gorgeous space to sit and relax, complete with multiple fireplaces that make you feel like you should be journaling or having a deep conversation. There's also a bookstore with beautiful religious items if you feel like browsing or taking something meaningful home. Staff were consistently polite, helpful, and clearly knew what they were doing, everything ran smoothly the entire stay. Final verdict: Yes, the commute tried to humble me. But once you're there? It's peaceful, comfortable, thoughtfully designed, and genuinely enjoyable. I had such a great experience that I'm already looking forward to my next visit. That drive isn't stopping me, and that's saying something.

Visit Dates: August 21, 2023 to August 25, 2023…read more I came here with my family and my church Grace Reformed Baptist Church for a camping trip and retreat. I opted for camping in a tent (my first time) and the meal plan (do not recommend). Mostly everything was great. The campsite was fairly easy to find I had a water hookup and an electricity hookup so I got to charge my phone. I set up my tent fairly easily and was happy about that. The nature was pretty, the camping site was great, the bathrooms and shower stalls were well maintained and clean. My family stayed in the rooms. The rooms are way more pricey and I heard a few church members complaining about the beds. I stayed in the room on my last night because my dad was worried about me going home with my son alone even though I would have been okay so he stayed past the point of my sisters going home and kept the room my sisters stayed in with him. My son got scared of camping on the last night so we ended up in my dad's room the last night, I didn't think it was so bad. This is a Christian Camp so if you aren't Christian be prepared for the Jesus. I'm not sure if they allow individual stays but I was with the church. They gave us a designated space for devotional time, we had two devotional sessions a day. I love Jesus and am a Christian so when I got here I was like oh so much of Jesus loves you, so much of God loves you and I loved it. But if you aren't Christian and book a camping trip here you may not like it, you may be surprised so I'm just specifying. Spruce Lake itself is on the small side, I got to check it out but I found the woods and campgrounds more impressive. They have a snack shop that's open for a few hours a day. The snack shop food was great. My son and I missed the snack shop the first few days but we got to go on Wednesday and Thursday. So the dining hall and meal plans. That's the one thing I wouldn't recommend. I opted for it because I didn't know how camping was going to be I wanted to try the tent thing first before I went gun-ho with bringing my own coolers and food. Next year I'm getting a stove and bringing all my coolers and my own food. I basically paid $100 for my kid to drink soda because he would not touch anything in the dining hall to eat during our stay. I had a lot of snacks for him, my family bought a lot of snacks for him as well and he ate fries at the snack shop so he was fed. Some of the meals were okay, some of the stuff was kind of awful. So everything about this resort except for the food was great and if my church comes back here again I'd like to go!

We stayed in an RV spot (#51) which was perfect. Easy back in and plenty of room to hang out outside of the camper. The majority of the campground is heavily shaded by trees which is exactly what you need during summer months. Not to mention you get the full camping experience here vs other campgrounds that clear the trees to pack in as many spots as possible. Although we were only there for a few days the long term RV campers were very friendly to us which made us feel even more welcome. Also the wifi was perfect the entire time we stayed there. This isn't something to take for granted at a campground so it's worth noting and we are thankful for it! Although tent camping isn't our thing anymore we noticed how awesome the tent sites were. They looked spacious and comfortable so based on what we saw I'd recommend tent camping there as well!

Room was smelling of smoke and dog pee. I asked the owner to change the room but she refused to do it with the reason no available cottage right now. Despite all cottacges around were empty. Then we told her that we have no choice but stay(because didn't want to ruin vacation on first day) but also my wife told her that she will write review about smell. Then she turned to angry bird and switched to mood "karen" mode. She and her husband tried to find justification to kick us out from the campground. And they found it. My 13 years old daughter was in a swimming pool and suddenly she approches to us with aggression like: "your daughters lied to me with saying she is almost 14 when she is actually 13. So she can't be in the swimming pool by herself and for that reason we have to leave. After back on forth police came and told us that the business owner doesn't want you guys on their property so leave. So again, first day and they asked us to leave in middle of the night with two kids(5 and 13). She said going to refund all amount and I didn't argue at the beginning tried to be nice and deescalate the situation but barbara openly said that she doesn't like my wife and will not let her stay here. Wow... she really was a mean to us promised to refund but after packed up she hide behind a closed doors and didn't even want to take the key )) Long story short every bad review about rudeness of these people are true. This business with this behavior's should go out of the business very soon.
