During our visit to Vancouver, we came here 3 times. The pastries and drinks were very delicious but the caprese and steak Paninis were nothing special. Quick and efficient service. We thoroughly enjoyed our almond croissants, chocolate almond croissants, tiramisu and hazelnut donut and lattes & iced latte. Tables and seatings are limited but people were kind enough to give up their seats.

Yes for the good food ! The service was mediocre for sure . We came here a couple of times as it was near our hotel. Incredible array of sweet and savory foods and breads. Busy open 24 hrs coffee shop. Was bustling all the time it seemed ! We got croissants, sandwiches and coffee from here and I asked for my croissant to be heated up and then they proceeded to forgot to bag it and we left without it. Check your goods before you leave !!! Coffee was good and the sandwiches were nice and fresh. I'd use it as a quick place to grab and go . Not the friendly atmosphere!!

My newfound Canadian obsession -- that's not Tim Hortons -- is officially Breka Bakery. If only the U.S. had bakeries this good (and coffee this cheap), I'd have zero complaints. We stopped by on our first day exploring Vancouver, and Breka being open 24/7 is already a win. We grabbed a mix of drinks and pastries to share. - Chocolate-Dipped Almond Croissant -- thin chocolate shell that added a unique texture - Cheddar & Chive Scone -- moist, not dry like most scones; loved the cheesy top and chives baked into the dough - Mango Coconut Mousse -- refreshing and clean-tasting, though a bit sweet for an Asian palate - Apple Strudel -- classic and simple; powdered sugar + big apple chunks - Almond Croissant -- super flaky with plenty of marzipan filling - Cretzel Ham & Cheese Melt -- croissant-meets-pretzel fusion; panini-pressed perfectly with melty cheese and ham - Steak & Cheese Panini -- solid; chipotle mayo and green peppers gave it a nice kick - Chai Latte -- light and well-balanced - Hot Latte -- creamy with the perfect coffee punch - Bienenstich (Honorable Mention) -- I wanted this so badly! It's a German classic with a crunchy honey-almond top and creamy vanilla filling sandwiched between two yeast cake layers. They only sell it whole, but an entire cake is just $16.50 CAD ($11.70 USD!) -- an unreal steal Breka bakes everything fresh daily, and you can taste it. This location was popping on a Saturday morning. Plenty of seating, though we snagged one of the last tables for four. There was a bit of a line, but it moved quickly. If I lived in downtown Vancouver, Breka would have my money every weekend.

Breka breka. So nice that it's open all day and all night. The convenience of having a place to go to that's affordable & bustling with people at all hours. Small shop but often easy to find seating. The workers are all usually very nice. The pastries are sometimes a bit sweeter than I'd like but I'm sure it's perfect sweetness for most people. I have tried their croissants & apple pastry (both good) but I enjoy the breakfast cookies as they seem "healthier" than some of the other sweets. Everything is very affordable.

I haven't been to this Breka in ages. Came here with a friend and we picked a cake to share. The cake was very delicious. The place is busy but there were lots of seats and tables available. One of the things that I really like about Breka is their operating hours. Decor of the place very standard. Nothing fancy looking. Their prices are a bit cheaper than other bakery. Most importantly, all their pastries and cakes are made on the day. So everything is super fresh.

I can't explain how much I wish this was where I lived. I had to visit multiple times during my visit to Vancouver. Premium sandwiches at such an affordable price and all locations are open 24/7! My favorite sandwiches were the cretzel ham & cheese and the chicken salad sandwich. They are usually always busy, but the line goes very quickly and the food has always been delicious! There is a seating area, but it's mainly occupied by the line and other foot traffic. I would go several times a week if it were accessible.

Love that this bakery/cafe is open 24 hours!! I came here last night to pick up some pastries for the next day and tried the London fog donut, matcha creme puff, and lychee raspberry eclair. They were all so delicious! The London fog donut was soft and the frosting was sweet and had the strong tea flavor; the matcha creme puff has matcha flavored cream inside and the frosting was perfect; and the lychee raspberry eclair had a light and sweet lychee cream filling with a tangy raspberry frosting on top! I enjoyed them all and will be trying their drinks and other baked goods soon!

Breka is my go to bakery in vancouver. Everything from cales, pastries, savoury items, desserts etc here are fresh and taste great. My favourites here are the german cake (bienstitch), apricot chicken salad sandwich, salted caramel mocha, chocolate eclairs and the strawberry shortcake. The service is quick and the place is open 24hrs

Great cafe and bakery that's open 24 hours. Coffee was good, and baked goods and sandwiches were reheated after ordering and got us through our flight later that day.

Efficient and friendly service, amazing desserts, and fair prices is what you'll find here! What a gem! We were visiting from California and loved this place! They have the BEST cream puffs!

We stopped by this bakery two mornings in a row, it's a simple unassuming place and it quickly became one of our favorite spots near the hotel. They have a huge variety of pastries along with plenty of warm options.. perfect if you want something hearty for example the spinach & artichoke pocket, the breakfast croissant etc. It can get pretty packed, so I can't say there's a "good" time to go. Our first morning, not even a weekend day, the line was very long but moved surprisingly quickly. Today, there was only one person ahead of us, but by the time we picked up our order, the line was already to the door. Either way, it's worth the wait. If you're in the area, definitely give it a try. The oat milk chai was one of my favorites, a bit on the sweeter side, but it absolutely made our mornings

    Matcha Cream Puff
    Stephanie H.

Stumbled upon this little bakery after a 6 mile stroll along the Stanley Park Seawall. It was pretty tiny on the inside with a short line that moved pretty quickly, almost too quickly for me to decide which of the dozens of beautiful cakes and pastries to get. Went for the Matcha Cream Puff and was shocked by how much cream filling oozed out when I cut into it. A definite plus when the cream puff isn't all puff and no cream. I could taste the bitterness of the matcha in the filling and it wasn't too sweet, which balanced out the sweetness of the matcha/chocolate shell on top. The cake crossed the border back to Washington with me and held up well in a cooler. I should have guessed, given its name, that it would be tart, but I was still surprised by how tart (and somewhat bitter) it was. I feel like I didn't enjoy it as much as I wish I had. More sponge at the bottom would have been nice to offset all the creaminess. The cake was so beautifully constructed though, and I definitely want to try more of their treats the next time I visit!

We ordered the following: Tiramisu Latte Caprese Bite London Fog Apple Cookie Cherry Matcha Tonic Tiramisu Sea Salt Caramel Gelato The Cherry Matcha Tonic was pretty but wasn't too crazy about the flavor. I should have just gone with my original gut instinct and chosen a hot beverage like Hojicha Latte or something like that. I was sort of thirsting for something cooler for a change though, and the Cherry Matcha Tonic was the first "cool" drink that caught my eye so I decided to go for it. Won't do that again. Everything else was good though. The Sea Salt Caramel Gelato was the star of the show! In the store there's a sign beneath their gelato section that says "Canadian Gelato Champion". I believe it after tasting the Sea Salt Caramel! They had Nama Chocolates too. I was tempted to get some but...only so much a person's wallet and waistline can handle at one time. Will try the Nama Chocolate some other time. You can order in person here, or you can place an "Express" order at the Kiosk. We tried both ways of ordering. Ordered at the counter first and then after finished my Cherry Matcha Tonic decided I wanted to try the Sea Salt Gelato so then tried ordering that from the Kiosk. Most of the parking in this area is paid but I lucked out and got a free spot right around the corner from this place!

I could tell even from outside that it's a popular work and study type of coffee shop with your free wifi and outlets. I hope this post doesn't give it away and make it way too crowded for me to find a seat next time. There's a steady flow of people visiting the stores while I was there on a weekday between late afternoon and early evening but there's always extra seat for anyone new looking for a desk to work or chat with friends. A few could be better are the pricing and temperature. They offer free oat milk substitute and -$0.35 for bringing your own cup but no more employee discount. And it was so cold in there, I could see a lot of people kept their winter jackets on, I don't think it's a heating issue but the constant windy seems to suggest the AC is on rather than the heater, oh wells Im out of there now. For that reason, unless I'm bundled up, it'll be a hard sale to be back again! I got a hojicha latte and it as pretty good, perfect sweetness and temperature for my cold with no ice. The barista was super great to work with.

Insane Venezuelan Dulce de Leche Lattes…read more Starbucks Caramel Lattes can go take a walk. * * * Chocolate donuts with strawberry icing with massive huge strawberry taste in the icing. The only good frosted donut I have ever eaten with complete wonderment. (Actually, I have not had that many good donuts in over 72 years of donut eating. I am not sure how cops on break tolerate the average American or Canadian donut. But thank god, they eat them so I don't have to.) But I would eat donuts all day and all night at 49th Parallel. Brownie points for convenience. My husband ordered a double espresso and in true men's fashion claimed it to be "solid". I ordered the maple sea salt shaken espresso and it was *chefs kiss*. If you are a sweet and salty lover, get it! It won't disappoint you. We also ordered the Doug sandwich and the Avo sandwich. Don't let the looks fool you as the sandwiches' appearances fall kind of short. However, both sandwiches were delicious. Starbucks could never. ‍ The Doug Sandwich - a full bodied sandwich consisting of scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and tarragon aioli. I thought this sandwich would be too heavy, but the brioche bun is light and the scrambled eggs are really fluffy. The Avo Sandwich - a lighter sandwich featuring fried egg, avocado, cheddar cheese, sun dried tomato pesto, tarragon aioli and mixed greens. Also a good choice! The cafe was clean and they have a water dispenser available for customers. Service was ok, but I think they were just a bit busy.
