Checked out this Breka Bakery after cycling through Stanley Park -- our second Breka of the trip, and it hit the spot again! This seems to be the only Breka on the west side of downtown Vancouver. Since we had just biked and weren't in a pastry mood, we grabbed two drinks to cool off. - Strawberry Banana Smoothie -- surprisingly delicious and super refreshing. Made with real fruit (not syrups, thankfully) and blended into a creamy, strawberry-banana delight. This location still has Breka's signature gleaming display cases packed with fresh bread, pastries, sandwiches, cakes, and more. Service was friendly and fast -- drinks came out in under 5 minutes. There aren't as many seats here compared to other Breka spots, but it was mellow on a Monday afternoon. Now that I'm back home, I'm still thinking about that strawberry banana smoothie. Seriously underrated and it just hit.

Walked by this place and was craving for some desserts! Saw the selection of desserts and decided to get the earl grey cream puff! The cream puff was covered with earl grey chocolate on top and the earl grey tea flavor was really strong in the cream, which I absolutely loved! Wished I could've tried more desserts, but had to save some space for dinner.

I think most Vancouverites are familiar with Breka as perhaps the city's only 24 hour bakery/coffee shop. I think their food, both the baked goods and sandwiches/meals, is delicious, and the prices are very reasonable. The flavours are great, the baked goods are fresh, the portions are just right. Some of the panini and pockets are a little oily. Their donuts are super fluffy - those might be my favourite treat here. This West End location is out of the way for me but I decided to come here just to change it up. I loved the patio here. The cafe design is very inviting, but there's not much standing room for waiting for your order. I arrived around 2:30, which I think was past the lunch rush, but it was still busy, and it took a long while for my sandwich to come out. The barista/cashier that took my order was wonderful though. Very polite and calm.

I love this place. The London fog donut is a have to try. It has a great citrus taste on a raised ring donut. The americano is a great with a light roast coffee. It is always crowded. With a line. But it is 24/7 so I would assume that it's pretty open. The neighborhood might be a little iffy at 2am but I think I'd sit there in that modern art deco and work on my laptop for hours. A value for the price

The food was super good - I forgot to take a photo of ours, but I did grab a few photos of the food cases. I ordered the spinach artichoke pocket and my partner ordered the Italian pocket and sausage roll. We got a pistachio donut to share later, and boy am I glad we shared it - while delicious, it was super rich and sweet - and huge, too! Glad we split it. I got a matcha latte with a peppermint tea to-go, and he got the salted caramel latte. Everything was very good, the service was fast, and everything looked and tasted amazing. Would absolutely recommend.

Back door super dirty; power wash will help t least!

I go to this location 'cause is on my neighbour hood, but I don't enjoy stopping here. ALWAYS takes for ever to prepare the drinks,. No matter if you are the only client. I hope these reviews are analyzed by someone who can make changes. Please improve the patio; it is always dirty, make it a little charming, build a barrier to stop the noise and dust from the street. At least clean it! Power wash, paint it. Make it welcoming. Move it to the end of the parking, I bet you will get more customers. Maybe you guys don't want more clientele

Breka is currently my favourite bakery, and the one on Davie is the branch I usually go to, until I visited the Denman location. If you live in Vancouver, you know that finding parking downtown is about as easy as making lasagna from scratch. Breka Denman Street has parking in the back. Yup!....designated parking downtown Vancouver...I know...it's like finding a unicorn! The Chocolate Ganache was incredible. Chocolate cake is my favourite type of cake, and this at Breka delivers every time. The Strawberry Shortcake caused me to discover tastebuds I didn't think I had. It looks very simple, but it isn't until after you taste it that you find out its complexity in flavours, delicate recipe and careful mixing. I think I'm going to try a doughnut next time. Great...now my mouth is watering!

We had breakfast here when we stayed in Vancouver. This. bakery has multiple locations in the area. The pastry and coffee were great just like the other's reviews said. We had earl grey cream puff and a couple donuts. The cream puff was the winner. It was so good that we picked up a couple for Scooby snacks the next day when we were in the area.

Great coffee and terrific pastries. Never had a better scone! I only wish they had a location where I live.

I've always liked this bakery when I used to live dt. If you're in Vancouver visiting find the closest breka and visit the downtown area! I definitely recommend a visit to ANY breka cafe. Try out the red velvet cake, German chocolate, baileys mocha cheesecake and more! This area we tried is near Denman close to the entrance of Stanley park and English Bay beach. It's quite small cafe, so if you're into taking your baked goods to the park or to the beach it's a great place to go! They also serve great coffee! The Robson location in the spring/summer is a great place to visit as they have shutdown a street area in lieu of placing outdoor chairs and tables. Be warned that that area is very busy with exchanged student and it's a shopping location district with also tonnes of restaurants nearby to be tried out!

    Jesse S.

I had the pleasure to try their pistachio donut ($3.25 CAD as of April 2022) and it was simply amazing. So creamy and not overly sweet like the other pastries. Love love love! I hope it's not seasonal/temporary. I also tried London fog donut ($2.50 CAD ) and Lavender Tea latte ($4.25 CAD). Both items were very sweet so I recommend getting a nonsweet beverage to balance the flavors. Great service too!

Clean, quite and ok servings. The hot chocolate wasn't that chocolatey and they served up the butt end of a banana bread, not my preference but was too late to exchange before I notice it. It has its own parking that is off the street for those driving around downtown Vancouver

Happy to discover that this place was nice and quiet inside so would definitely consider coming back here again. Food was awesome. I absolutely loved my Shakshuka. Might be the best Shakshuka I've ever had. Not that I'm any authority figure on what a Shakshuka should taste like. But I really enjoyed this one. The combination of flavors, the runny egg yolks, the gooeyness of the cheese...it was just such a wonderfully comforting and belly warming meal. I saw a Cinnamon Honey Latte on the board and decided to order that for my drink. These days, I can never tell when the word "Latte" is being used to describe a coffee beverage or whether it's being used to describe a beverage that has milk in it. A Matcha latte for example, tends to just be a sweetedned Matcha beverage with milk in it. No coffee thrown in. I was kinda hoping this Cinnamon Honey Latte would be milk with cinnamon and honey thrown in. It turned out to be a coffee beverage. No complaints about it. It's on me for assuming that it was milk with cinnamon and honey thrown in. I should have probably asked our server about the beverage before simply ordering it. Will make sure to do that if/when we end up here again. Kinda had my eye on the Turkish Apple Tea though so might just order that next time and the whole "Latte" dilemma wouldn't be an issue with that. My daughter's Avocado Toast looked super yummy as well. Might try ordering that next time, although Michelangelo's Mediterranean Spread was also kinda calling out to me!

Stumbled across this place while looking for a simple yet delicious Japanese meal to end my latest Vancouver trip. 93 coffee showed up, which was perfect as it was only a stroll and a half from the downtown waterfront area. The location is thicker away, quiet, and upon first entry, it was obviously that somebody meticulously thought of the concept and took great care in procuring the furniture, fixtures, and set up. The staff was friendly but in a non-rushing feeling-like-a-business type of way. So all the good qualities of your neighborhood cafe with the charm of a Japanese cafe. I ordered a hamburg steak teishoku and my boyfriend ordered the Hamburg steak curry. We were impressed by how the patty was flavorful, meaty, but neither greasy or heavy - signature of how it is in Japan. The curry was flavorful without being overly rich. The side pairings for the teishoku was perfect - a mini salad, side of pickled vegetables, rice, and miso soup. Very well balanced. Overall, super satisfied of this latest find. We need to come back to try some of the dessert offerings.
