Sean is by far the greatest bartender ever and I'm a bartender!!!!! He immediately makes you feel comfortable and like one of the regulars. If you are ever near Brendee's stop and see Sean.

Stopped here for restaurant week. Deal wasn't bad, 3 appetizers for $10! The inside is very small but it has a neighborhood feel. The bartender was nice. They have decent drink specials and pricing. A nice draft selection for a small bar. I'll have to go back soon to write more!

A great local pub. Great prices, good atmosphere. Has a decent crowd of regulars but welcoming to newcomers.

I've been going into Brendee's (Town Tavern) since I was a neighborhood kid looking to score underage beer.

There was quite a crowd at the bar, which I think may have been attributed to happy hour as it seemed to clear out about halfway through our dinner. We had the Irish soda bread and in order of chips for a starter. The soda bread was served with butter and jam. It was pretty good. The chips appeared to be hand, cut, and well fried. They had a very good taste of them. They were served with three sauces, two of which were cream based and were pretty tasty. The third was supposed to be a curry sauce, but it was extremely thin and did not have a great deal of flavor. I have the bangers and mash and my wife had a steak. Both were very good. Service was OK but the bartender who poured my second Guinness could probably take a remedial lesson in how to pour a Guinness as it was definitely not a proper pour. All in all if I were in the area again, I would probably come here.

I wanted to like this place because the decor and initial feel is on point. Having said that, I'm…read morebig into food quality and value and this place was not great at either. Having a Guinness is always nice and, my shepherd's pie was pretty good, but the fish and chips was as bad as it gets and it was all a bit overpriced. The shepherd's pie had a nice presentation and good taste, although perhaps a bit low on meat. The fish and chips looked like someone's first ever attempt at making it. A greasy mess with more batter than fish. Service was slow as well.

We knew we were in the right place when we entered and there was a friendly group of peeps from all walks of life from Firemen to a few office working stiffs. The reason I haven't been going for the past three years is that the last time we ordered a Reuben, it was the most disgusting sandwich I'd ever received. The meat tasted terrible, and the color was "off." The time before that the Blarney bread was undercooked and had so much mayonnaise on it that it was inedible. Two weeks ago, it was undercooked and cold in the middle. The more well-done pieces I was able to eat, but the little pieces I could not. The following week, we decided to try the newly opened section on the corner inside the old Arooga's. Two bartenders working, the bar was not that busy but one of the bartenders closest to us didn't even acknowledge or let us know that she'd be right with us. It took the other very attentive and excellent bartender at the other end of the bar to notice my eyes looking around for some help when she came over to take care of us. She was great! The petite blonde was absolutely the worst and I wish I knew her name so I could call her out in this review. I used to love this place and my previous review is five stars. It's definitely not the same as it was before so I'm not sure we will be visiting this establishment again.
