Cornbread Crusted Salmon

What a treat! Mo was our server and bartender. We loved the bar cart he rolled out to make our smoked Old Fashioneds. He was knowledgeable and convinced me to try the Bully with a substitution as I don't like Campari. It was very good. Interior is very classy. We ate the Jumbo Crab Cake, Baby Greens Salad, Cornbread Crusted Salmon and Kansas City Strip Steak. Everything was delicious. We opted to try the Butter Cake for dessert and it was amazing.

Jumbo Lump Crab Cake

A few days ago, I ordered the jumbo lump crab cake dinner with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Loved how the sauces were in separate containers, but I wish they were somehow labeled. The jumbo lump crab cakes were delicious with little breading. The remoulade sauce was the perfect compliment. The I thought ordering online was seamless and I loved that they set the pickup time when I ordered. I was a little surprised to find the area around the restaurant a bit run down and felt seedy, it felt very different from where I was staying just a few blocks away. Service was wonderful - they even pronounced my (difficult) last name correctly.

Starting off black history month with my favorite restaurant. The services us always 10/10. Ambiance is perfect. Drank and lemon drop which was delicious. My date had a dirty martini. Scallops were so sweet. The shrimp and grits had a little kick and were so flavorful. Definitely will be back!!

Was in Louisville, and it was a Friday during Lent, so Fish Friday. I sat at the bar on the server side, which only had two seats. I share that as I was kind of out of the way and alone which may be a cause by the slow and poor service. I had clam chowder which was okay. I then had the tuna, with potatoes and asparagus covered in bearnaise and it was fabulous. Great atmosphere and good entree made up for the poor service.

Food was killer... service was a tad slow! I will start off with the good, the ambience and layout of the restaurant is really great. Being able to see into the kitchen and treated with all the sites and associated smells is always something I enjoy especially in a higher end restaurant like this our server was really good, but I think she had too many tables because it did take excessively long to get our drinks and several items we ordered were forgotten and arrived later than others as a result. The food itself is excellent. All of our appetizers were prepared well and all of our main dishes were equally as exquisite. Had the service portion been on par with the food quality I would've certainly rated this place five stars. I would definitely go back and as a sidenote, I would recommend the truffle fries every time.

Fantastic dining experience, every time. Upscale without being pretentious. Always a strong selection of seafood (if the seared tuna is on the menu, get it; if you want something else--and there are many excellent options--get an order to share anyway!). Steaks are excellent. Quality sides. Great cocktail menu (smoked old fashioned prepared tableside is a must-try experience). Tasty desserts. Service and atmosphere are top quality. Servers are knowledgeable, attentive, and welcoming. The bar area is lively, the restaurant has a great vibe, and there are good private dining areas as well. All in all, a spot well worth visiting for a special occasion, a business meeting, or just a high-quality night out.

Very nice restaurant with a classy vibe. Comfy seating and very attentive service. Everyone enjoined their meals and pricing wasn't too out of line. Menu didn't match what their website said what was available that day but still offered very fresh choices. I split the wedge salad and enjoyed some baked oysters.

Oh my! We went for our anniversary and could not have been more pleased. The food was excellent and the service top tier. They even walk around with a drink bar for smoking drinks, if your into that. I would go back again, I loved it.

The customer service was great, and the ambiance was well suited for a quiet meal alone or with a date. I come here every time I'm in downtown Louisville KY and they never disappoint.

Shrimp Pesto Linguini
Lora C.

No, just no. Ridiculous pricing for what you get and the service was so poor. Ordered Shrimp Pesto Basil Linguini ($32.75) which arrived with only 5 small pieces of shrimp, unseasoned and without the cheese finish as described on the menu. Our server never came back to the table to see how the food was, so we asked the food runner for some condiments we needed and she acted like this was a problem. Finally walked up to the bar to order a drink since our server was absent. Got a glass of 6 oz of Doau wine that I was charged $25 for. Check with any other local restaurant and you'll see this is excessive. Will never go back or recommend Brenden's Catch to anyone. Nobody in our group of 4 will be back. P.S. it wasn't even very busy there that night.

Sea bass with sweet potato hash

We had a great night out here before seeing a musical at the Kentucky Center! Sonya was a great waitress, attentive and very knowledgable! We had the crab cake for a starter which was fabulous. Our main courses were the sea bass and the scallops, both were perfectly seasoned and cooked! I highly recommend for a classy night out in Louisville!

Does this place have a happy hour? It came up with one but I don't see anything more about it?

Every hour is happy here but 4-6 we were a little happier.

I appreciated the amount of space, and there were even a few tables outside. Bar seating, table seating, couch seating... I think I peeped a small room in the back too... all the options! When I was there, it was mostly empty, but people did come in and out. It was easy to tell who the visitors and regulars were haha. I enjoyed just hanging out, people watching, and chatting with the friendly bartenders. They have cocktails and mocktails in abundance... there's literally something for everyone. And they even had these chocolate shot glasses. So cool! All in all, the place just seems like a perfect neighborhood bar. They don't have food, but there's plenty of options around to bring in there. Music was great too!

The originally cocktail I ordered didn't satisfy me like I'd hope and the ladies were kind enough to make me something different, so I opted with my favorite - a spicy margarita with mezcal a few extra dashes of hot sauce! I was very satisfied with that one and would probably come back again next time we're in town!

We were excited…read moreto finally get a reservation, but unfortunately our experience didn't match the expectations for the great things we've heard about this restaurant. We waited 30 minutes past our 9:15 reservation to be seated because we were told the previous reservation would not leave. We had to ask the hostess twice before our table was ready. Once seated, we felt rushed to order. The salatim wasn't replenished until we had nearly finished our entrées. When we asked for more pita with our mains after receiving side orders of hummus, we were asked how many individual pieces we wanted. None of us received the rice that comes with our mains, and when we asked our server just agreed but it was never brought out. My fries were also forgotten and by the time I asked I was told the kitchen had already closed so I couldn't get them. They kindly removed the fries from my bill and gave me a complimentary dessert. Our empty glasses also remained on the table for the entirety of the dinner. At the end of the meal, we all requested separate checks, but three of them were incorrect and had to be fixed. As we were leaving, we could hear the employees cheering because we had left. We greatly appreciated the discount our group received. The food was excellent, but for such an exclusive restaurant we expected a better dining experience.

Unforgettable meal. We may go back to Louisville just to eat here again, and we live in California…read more Everything we had - embered beets, tomatoes and stone fruit, chicken thighs, salmon, and babka - was simply sublime. And the basic dishes were the most surprising. We can't stop thinking about the tomatoes and stone fruit - how can a few ingredients we eat so often have such complexity and taste beyond any prior experience? It's infuriating. Also the rice - of the hundreds of rices we've had this is by far the best. Rice! Service was exceptional as well. Our servers Celeste and Ollie (Ali?) were knowledgeable, welcoming, and efficient. Hostess Isabelle was our hero. We were in Louisville only for 12hrs so did not have a reservation but nicely begged her and she was eventually able to fit us in late on a Sunday. We are not Tom Colicchio and Padma Lakshmi, but we've had many phenomenal meals throughout the world and this one is going to be memorable. If anyone at MeeshMeesh wants to start a restaurant in Sacramento, please give me a call.
