I first ate here over a year ago, and found it tasty but nothing truly extraordinary. Today I came back, and I really enjoyed my experience, which is why I went from 4 to 5 stars. I did opt for the "Hot as Cluck," despite the employee really trying to talk me out of it. It's definitely a hot sandwich, but it's delicious. I love spice, so it was okay. I drank lots of water, and the fries helped cool it down a bit. That being said, I'm not really sure it warranted all of the warnings I was given. The last time I hadn't thought the Fargo Hot was hot enough, and this sandwich was DEFINITELY hot enough, but in a good way (if you love spice!!). The woman taking my order was really worried about me not being able to finish, but honestly the portions are so big I'm not sure I would have been able to finish no matter what I ordered! If I had one suggestion on the sandwich , it would be to add a few more pickles. Just a little more acid and I think it would have been perfect. Was my mouth burning? Yes. But I can't wait to eat it again. The portions were a little big for me, so next time I go, I'll be asking for my sandwich without the bun. I ended up just eating the chicken once I saw how big it was with the bread and the fries anyways. Just a bit too much for me for lunch. The other women at the table all got the three tenders, no sides, and they were full (and raving about their meals) at the end of lunch. The two men at the table were able to eat a full sandwich and a side of fries. One woman got five tenders and took two to go. I ate about 2/3 of my fries and 2/3 of my chicken patty before I was just too full to continue. So yes, it's spicy; but if you love spice, you'll be fine. Great place with a cool vibe. Came for brunch on the weekend and went with the fried chicken and waffles, along with fried green tomatoes. It was all tasty. Most importantly, the chicken was the right ratio of breading:chicken. Will definitely be back here again since everything on the menu sounds amazing. I had to comment based on a semi critical review, that made comments based on picky eaters. Who cares, picky eaters can go to fast food restaurants, this is for eaters that enjoy a little variety outside of the blandness that populates all of Fargo. Please don't dock restaurants for having quality food because people you bring with you can't appreciate any flavor. Vegan Items marked with a V are not vegan!!!!!!! We came here because their website mentioned they have vegan food and catered to food allergies. We stopped here after my daughter's all-state band week because of what their website says. She had been eating hummus and bread all week at Concordia All-State Band Camp because that was the extent of their vegan offerings. She left hungry. When it was our turn to order at the counter my teen daughter asked what main course items they had that were vegan because there were literally none except a salad. (Vegans don't just eat salads, do better) the woman recommended the Bahn Me Veggie. It doesn't have the V by it on the menu and my daughter is severely allergic to dairy, I asked if it was actually vegan, she said, yes, it doesn't have meat" we didn't chance it. (Vegetarian is not the same as vegan employees!!! We depend on that V to ensure it's actually vegan!) She chose the Baby Bird meal because although just a kid's meal, it had the trusted V for vegan on the menu. It didn't say "chicken" nuggets, it just said 'nuggets.' With that V next to it, we should safely assume it was vegan right? Especially after telling the woman ringing her up she was vegan. Very wrong. When she got the food and bit into it- it was literally a chicken strip!!!!!!!!! We told the staff who dropped it off at our table and the employee asked what she could replace it with. My daughter asked for the Cauliflower Wings. We waited for 15 minutes and nothing ever came out for her. There were no customers in line so I went inside and the woman at the register deflected blame on others, said no one put the cauliflower wings in, no one knew about it (!!!!!) Let me also mention that the OMG Sprouts (Brussel Sprouts) that were the side she ordered with Baby Bird also say V on the menu. She ate most of those and after the chicken debacle decided to verify the ingredients in the seasoning. They told her it was honey mustard! In what world is honey vegan? Yes, some vegans do eat honey, but it is not vegan, many don't. You can't put a V on a menu item with honey in it!!! Honey is an animal product. My daughter is allergic to honey. She doesn't eat meat and she is allergic to dairy. This was all an epic fail. So bad Brew Bird! WTF!!!! She threw up several times on the drive home. Was it the honey or was there dairy in their non V nuggets? Not sure but I think it's illegal to misrepresent that you cater to food allergies and then mismark the menu. The staff was extremely rude and unapologetic. Do not eat here if you actually have food allergies- This place can't be trusted to mark their menu or educate their staff. Horrific!!!!!!!!! read more

This is a great local spot down by the University. It has a hipster vibe to it. Large patio with garage door that create an indoor and outdoor environment. I had the Fargo Hot chicken sandwich. I have fallen in love with Brew Bird! From the quirky trophies to the neon sign, the atmosphere is fantastic! Hands down the best thing about Brew Bird is the food. Not only is it delicious, but almost the entire menu happens to be gluten free. That is HUGE for someone like me who has celiac disease. I am not an expert in fried chicken, and I never thought I would fall for a fried chicken restaurant, but this place is addictive! You get a humongous chunk of chicken, perfectly moist inside and super crispy outside, doused in delicious sauce (depends on which sandwich you choose), all dressed with balanced flavors on a nicely toasted brioche bun. What else could one want? The main problem is, they have a NEW flavor every week! And they are all delicious! And you will want to try them all. Also, they have the BEST brussel sprouts in town. And amazing cauliflower wings (crunchy, not too much flour, nice sauce on the side) for our vegetarian or non vegetarian friends! I'm sure their salads must be good too, I'm afraid to try them. This chicken is sooo good. One of the best chicken sandwiches I've had. Split the Far East and the Buff and both were great. The Mac and cheese is also sooo good and silky smooth and the pimentos add a great Smokey taste. But to top it off were the freaking amazing molten donuts. WOW!! The Buffalo sauce they smother the perfectly fried chicken in is not stupid hot and has tang to it with just a tad of a sweet hint at the end. Went today for the first time. Didn't really know what to expect as far as the food goes. Especially since when you walk in it looks like it used to be a service garage. But it's cute the way the interior is done. As far as the food goes. I got the 3 piece chicken fingers with fries and two sauces. first off the chicken was extremely moist! I was afraid it was going to be dry as most places are. That definitely wasn't the case. Other restaurants need to take to the BrewBird to see what their secret is. The breading was done perfect, not too thick and just the right amount of crunch. I know fries are fries. But the waffle fries were AMAZING!! The seasoning/crunch made them top all the waffle fries. I had two different sauces. One was white BBQ and the other was baby come back. The white BBQ was delicious! I will next time be ordering two of those sauces. The baby come back sauce was okay, it had just a smidge of a bite to it. But it wasn't overpowering. If you're not a fan of anything with heat then don't get this sauce. Definitely stick with the white BBQ. Overall this place was fantastic and I can't wait to go back back and eat there again! I had 4 other people with me as well and they all loved their meals.
