I've tried 3 different times and want to like and support this local business but this isn't for me. Service is decent but the food is overhyped. They have never cooked a burger I ordered to the temperature I asked for, always overcooked. Bottom bun is always wet from the burger and can not pick it up. Great burgers, and home made chips! They have a wide variety of options, and I have tried a couple. My favorite so far has been their hand made Veggie burger! It is by far the best I have found, definitely not a frozen patty that you find at most places. They will make any of their specialty burgers with whatever patty (beef, turkey, or veggie) that you prefer. That said the service is a little indifferent, but I have only ever sat at the bar. They have outdoor seating and a few tables inside as well. A great alternative to the big chain restaurants and right off the highway if you are traveling. read more

This place was very good, so good that we were back the following day. We were staying next door and it was so convenient for us as well. The first day we had wings, deep fried shrimp, salad and fried pickels, onion rings and chips everything was really good. The second day both my husband and I had the blackened shrimp po boys and they were super delicious. If you want to try a new beer that is exeptionally delicious ask to try the Kentucky Bourbon Beer. I am not a beer drinker myself but found that this beer was amazing. The service was also fantastic. I have to give a shout out to all the ladies there especially Angie and the funny, friendly gal at the bar. Sorry sweety I didnt catch your name but im sure you know who you are. Worst service We have EVER experienced!DO NOT GO HERE!!!We met a Karen lol. 2 waters & 1 beer a cup of chili w/1 cracker.20 min & no return. Eventually I ask for additional crackers. LONG wait again! I glanced over my shoulder to see if she's near, as most do when waiting for the return of an item. Karen is idle while 3 other employees are at the register. Taking 2 steps, Im at counter, that's how close we were. I approached counter clerk for additional crackers not her. That pissed Karen/Ashley off, she snapped saying"I told you I would get them but I have my rounds to make" returning & dropping it to make a point, saying we only give one cracker (with the entire Karen attitude.) Next to us a guy at a high top had several packets he wasn't even eating, I pointed to them, she got furious & loud telling me she had been working there 10years, only one cracker with a cup of chili was given. First of all, I didn't know the"cracker rule" so you bet I retorted sarcastically and snobby back. She returns to her coworkers & in front of the counter guest, proceeds to bash me.her & the short curly headed one didn't realize that my son was watching them & could hear ever word. pointing &making nasty faces at me. Venting to coworker is ok. I've worked in the wait staff profession. I get it. BUT what you Don't do/say is what the short one says next. Making a nasty face "Oh well I'll fix her, when I go by I'll dump this wine on her and act like I tripped" with my son hearing this evil heartless plan he immediately said " ok guys enough let's go. (Not telling us what he heard)we figured he had, had enough with the attitude from the start so we immediately stand up in agreement. Euwan stays in to pay.Luc & I go outside. I see the short one racing to the counter like a possessed short Karen, I immediately go in, only to hear Euwan & three females yelling. It takes a lot to ruffle his feathers, it's normally me who goes off. I'm not sure how it escalated to where it did but they were yelling at each other & all saying hateful things. Then while I'm standing at counter, the short one says a few nasty things then says "I will cash you out, my friend don't need to deal with this" at first I thought she had stepped in to calm the scene down but nooo she was adding fuel, our Karen kept saying to me "I'm not going to keep arguing and turned to Euwan and started it up again. Im paying the bill, while short Karen and Karen/Ashley were still yelling with Euwan. Euwan calls Ashleys-Karen Dumb and now short one jumps in front of Euwan, bows up and says "ya wanna come at me" oh yes, I'm for real this is happening. Its two Karen's at the same place. Euwan just turns shakes his head and exits, in disgust. Things appear somewhat quiet for about 15 seconds, but those two say something again, very loudly, by now they are bouncing back and forth as if on a rubber band and having an after shock similar to an earthquake. Each time more trash coming out of their mouth, In the mix I hear Karen-Ashley say "I'm not gonna argue any more " as she continues to blurt pure filth. At this point I'm not saying anything because I know you can't reason with one Karen and definitely not two a Karen & a Napoleon Karen. No reasoning at all. In all my years dealing with all kinds of people, I don't think I have ever experienced such a disrespectful and horrible wait staff and there wasn't a manager stepping in to deescalate it. I thought for sure this was pranked. (Please note I have downed this in all areas or else this would be a novel, Leaving as much or as little in order to get the picture.) There was another person in the middle of this that pushed her way to me saying nothing to the other two. She even commented to me that she agreed with me to leave and apologized for them after I said "and yet she's still going!!‍"when Karen-Ashley would be on the upward swing of that rubber band, would blurt out & say, "I'm not going to keep arguing, followed by a derogatory statement. Then it repeated its circle starting again with I'm done arguing over a @&$& cracker. Mean time the only two keeping it going are the Karen's who continued to comment on a conversation that my silence & Euwans departure had terminated. Yup I'm for real, this was happening. Now, This person taking the payment, apologized again and voided my entire $8.00 ticket. In a low voice I said "thank you, but it's not over a cracker" she said she understood, she wouldn't want to pay after their attitude either & apologized again and even Thanked me. As for Beer, it was not very cold. But The chili was really good. As I am recalling this event, I'm thinking..Good news, my hormones must be getting back on tract because I remained calm the entire time. I think I was more amused that we had our very first Karen. This was a work mea after a long day. Quickly seated at the bar, although it is just a Tuesday. The tables are all filled which is a good sign. I'll leave That said, the beer is perfect temp and tastes fresh. I got the buttery garlic wings and half Jamaican jerk wings for a taste and then to save for tomorrow. OMG the Jamaican jerk wings are on POINT and the buttery garlic ones are just as good! These are actually my favorite boneless wings ever. Hands down! They are very quick and very friendly and professional. I had the black and blue burger for my meal. Cooked just right with plenty of blue cheese. I wasn't CRAZY about the bun but it was still great! Fries were right on! It is generally clean and looks well organized. Everyone that should have gloves has gloves and you can see the cooktop which is a plus. I'm feeling quite good. My only complaint There is a sour odor for a minute at the bar but I don't smell well, so it may be stronger to others. It's an older establishment but when the food is this good it doesn't matter much. I will definitely come back. read more

We headed down to Venice and wanted to a catch quick bite prior to the yearly chalk festival. Frankly everyone seems to migrate to Sharkeys; we've been there and don't get the allure. Service was great with our server being able to describe our potential choices in depth. We wanted a local beer but we're rather picky so of course they gave us a taste of maybe six different ones. As for the burger I opted for the Black and Blue which had an amazing blackened flavor and a side of tots (yes, I have never grown out of my kid phase so these are a staple). My wife went for the "Ollie G" which featured garlic and herb cheese, spicy olive tapenade, and chipotle ranch. It came with bacon as well but I stole that and added it to my burger :-) She also changed it from a beef to turkey burger and subbed in a lettuce wrap for the bun. She got what may be the best onion rigs we've ever tasted as a side. Net - awesome service, off the charts food, and very reasonable prices. There is really nothing to not like here. When my friend Kathy suggested this place for dinner since she had never been and wanted to try it, I really was delighted since I love this place and it had been quite awhile since I had eaten here. She opted for a BLACK & BLUE BURGER, which is a burger served with melted BLUE CHEESE, and she chose HOME MADE POTATO CHIPS as her side, as well as a Dill pickle. Food was great, service was great, even though they unfortunately are way understaffed as most restaurants are. My one complaint, being close to many waterways I wish they would stop offering plastic straws with plastic wrappers, the pile of trash on the grassy area off the outside seating is proof of what gets away with the breeze. This was an excellent find while in Venice, FL. I came here on my first night in the area and it really set the tone for a perfect week. Atmosphere - It is like a bar and a diner had a baby. There is a friendly and local ambiance, as you feel welcome just walking into the place. Service - It really added to my overall experience here, as everyone was very inviting. In the short time I was there, I felt like I was hanging out with people I had known instead of people I just met. This was great, as I was eating by myself at the bar/ counter. Food - I had the Alpine Burger, which was comprised of a nice patty (cooked to my liking) with a wonderful melted piece of Swiss and tasty mushrooms. To be different, instead of fries, I got a side of their homemade slaw, which consisted of cabbage, Craisins, and pineapple. It was the perfect blend with its sweet and tart taste and the crunch of the cabbage. For dessert, I had what I was told to be their in-house made Caribbean Key Lime Pie...it was delicious. This place has a decent beer selection too...not extensive but sufficient. Overall - This place is definitely worth the visit! Nice big glass of Stella along with my burger sporting the usual accoutrements of just raw onion and pickle. At $11 a steal... Amazing food and great service! I heard this place is locally owned. I don't know if that is true or not but it has that down home feel. Our waitress was very personable and made sure we always had everything we needed. I love all the burger ideas that are on the menu. If I lived closer I would come back just to try some of the ideas. I really wanted to try the elvis (peanut butter, bananas, bacon), but I ended up getting the Resolution, because I just didn't feel like peanut butter. The Resolution was fantastic, egg whites, turkey bacon, avocados, tomato, cheese on bagel. I felt healthy and was still eating great. This place is clean and unpretentious. It was pretty busy at 8:30 on a Friday and I'm glad. This is the type of place I like to eat at and see succeed. read more
