So I only visited this place as a grill and not so much as a pub. Service was pretty good. Prices are a little high. Atmosphere was pretty good. The burger I got was definitely nothing special and way over cooked. It came with fries and they give you a small handful of fries. That's really where my problem with this place was. The food wasn't great and the portions were small. Made me feel like I wasnt getting my money's worth and after paying 25 bucks for a meal, I left not feeling filled up. Nice service people, but not a place I would recommend or be returning to.

We had a great little lunch here. We were walking around the beach earlier and wanted something to eat before we headed home when we stumbled upon this place. I got the open face Reuben, and was really happy with it. The cheese was nice and melty on top. I started eating it with a fork and knife until I gave up. The fries it came with needed some salt, but they were pretty good otherwise. My brother got the chicken parm that I got to try. It was great, good portion, and we liked the tomato sauce. The spa wrap and the chicken cordon bleu sandwich on special were pretty tasty too. Another nice part was the bread basket we got at the beginning of the meal. Not the best bread I've ever had in my life, but it was a very welcome treat at the beginning of the meal. The staff was very friendly and efficient. We really appreciated our waitress Shawna. We sat outside and people watched all the beach patrons as we enjoyed our meal. Great little spot, check it out if you're in the area!

Food is always great. Highly recommend the Rueben. Great place to pop in during a festival or just for lunch/dinner. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Special shout out to management for their consistent level of service and staff. Many have been there for years which says a great deal in such a highly competitive/turnover area like Venice. New Carney's Ale is something that will bring you back for sure. Locals and tourists blend well and music is varied on the weekends. Last note, no place else in town has the bar vibe like this place. Irish pubs have the best ambiance for relaxing and enjoying during a fast paced life. Love dropping in any time of day.

    French Onion Soup

From Vicki's pleasant greeting and subsequent wonderful service, I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch there! The French Onion Soup is quite tasty and I loved the melted baked cheeses. I also enjoyed the steamed dumplings and took a few home for a snack later. The restaurant is open and airy with high ceilings, making for a pleasant experience. Will return.

Day trip to Venice FL found us at TJ Carney's for lunch. Seating outdoors was crowded so we opted for indoor bar seating. Chandler was very friendly and helpful. My husband had the California Chipotle Flatbread and I had a burger with no bun. Both were good and satisfying. No adult beverages but what we saw served looked refreshing and good. Great day enjoying the SW FL Spring day.

Came here for a quick dinner at the bar and I really liked it. The wings were a good appetizer and the French onion soup was very cheesy and tasty. I had the open faced Rueben and it was HUGE and tasty. I tried a bite of the meatloaf and fish and chips as well and they were also solid. Good place for a sandwich and a drink on the island. Fast and friendly service with a pub style atmosphere.

This place is conveniently located downtown Venice. Staying on the island this was one of the few bars and one of the best. It's a clean classic restaurant. However, we came to dinner and was very pleased with the food. I had the jerk chicken and was delighted with how juicy the chicken was and how crispy the onion rings are. Our waitress was very attentive and so kind offering us drink recommendations and even helping remedy a late meal. Overall it's a nice place for a meal with good prices. Ask for Theresa :)

Def not an Eagles bar. I called to confirm they had the Eagles game before going. They only have the "local stations" for football.

The server was great , I tried to get one blackened and one fried, that was a no, he did ask. The fish was very good and the batter didn't overpower the flavor of the cod. I was also impressed with the green beans , amazing flavor combo. The mac - cheese was also better than most places with a creamy texture and smooth cheesy flavor. Day 2 - I came back for the Guinness Stew, I was alone night one with the Aussies and it was represented as a large portion. Small Brussel Sprout appetizer was a good start. Sriracha BBQ Meatballs were amazing hit. Very flavorful and I will make these at home The Brie was a miss. Not much Brie lots of sweetness, minimal chips and a price tag that made it very much not worth it. The Guinness Stew was lackluster. A small sourdough round with some stew in it. It was missing that rich Guinness flavor and thick broth I love and salt didn't fix missing layors I was excited to taste. The price made this dish a huge miss. We talked about that the rest of the night. 2 Prime Rib dinners medium rare were tender, not very well seasoned, sometimes its good to leave the meat the star, we had AuJus and Horseradish for added flavor. More mac - cheese , not very warm, but good nonetheless. Peas and carrots, were okay. The busser spilled the Aujus on my boyfriend's lap cleaning up the dishes, no one said anything, I'll get that stain out. They were out of Apple Cobbler, sad face there. They did take it off of our bill and rerun the card. The manager came out to explain the way that works, pending charges and all, that was a plus. The warm chocolate cake we also ordered was rich and moist, it had some whip cream with it, next time we would add ice cream if ordered again. Not sure I would go back here, our bill was $167 dollars plus tip ( Our waiter was solid) = $207

But it wasn't until this last visit that we even realized this place existed - and we are SO glad we did! :) Tucked in the middle of a small and unassuming shopping center, the outside is very dark which definitely helps with the authentic Irish Pub feel. Once you open the door, it's smaller place, with around 10-15 small tables, a bar straight ahead, and a small area for local performers on the left up against the outside window (because of the dark ambiance, its hard to even tell the back is glass. The staff was helpful and attentive. We were going for a walk, but I wanted to see the menu, so I popped in to grab one with one of my daughters in the baby carrier. There were 2 performers and a few tables of people and everyone smiled and made comments about her, and I grabbed a menu and left. During the walk, I called to order our food, and the bartender on the phone was very helpful. He happily accommodated getting all of the sauces on the side and even offered some things to be separated that I didn't think about (since I mentioned we would be walking home with the food). When I went back to pick up the food, the place was far busier, almost every seat was taken, and I had switched out kids in the baby carrier. People were just as friendly even though it was noticeably crowded. It had only been 15 minutes, but the food was ready and packed - and boy was it GOOD!! We got the Irish Nachos and Pub Poutine so we could try a few Irish specialties that also had classic elements to them (shepherds pie and beer cheese). The Irish Nachos were absolutely incredible! It is house-made potato chips topped with shepherds pie and beer cheese. Some of the best food we've ever had in Siesta Key and by far the best shepherd's pie I've ever had - and I've been to Ireland. The Pub Poutine was also really tasty! It is house-made French fries topped with corned beef and beer cheese. Again, everything was fresh, made in-house, and a big hit with our whole family! I'm so glad we finally stumbled on this place and can't wait to come back again next year!
