We come here for breakfast often, especially while on a bike ride or lazy weekend morning, and we adore the place. It's a tiny little coffee shop with a nice, heated patio to enjoy your morning coffee and treat, and, on a sunny day, you can sit in the garden as well, among the plants. The bakery items are Macrina Bakery and the coffee is very good too. I especially enjoy the pain au chocolat. The coffee bar staff is very friendly. Better customer service recently. Was receiving rude interactions with the staff over summer. The shop is small, can only comfortably fit the staff behind the counter and one or two customers so they ask people to wait outside to let the door close completely, and drinks get handed out at a table outside the back door. Sandwiches were good. Cuban melt is yummy. They are basically panini. Location is very sweet, right next to a garden center/nursery. Staff is friendly, but limited in what they can do. If you order any sandwiches, be prepared to wait a LONG ASS TIME for your food because they only have one person working the counter and apparently she has to do everything by herself and will prioritize every cappuccino and latte ordered after your order..... so your food will come later than you probably though imaginable. COVID times review: When we visited the coffe shop WA already reopen business, so masks are not mandatory anymore BUT as a matter of caution this place requires customers to mask up and IT'S OK. We all are taking care of each other. I didn't see the signs that says "ONE CUSTOMER AT A TIME" oops! But then other customer did the same thing, and I felt better. So yeah, because the space is quite small, waiting line is outside the shop. The coffee was great, as well as the pastries (pan au chocolat, croissants, apple muffins and chocolate chip cookie) I'd say that it's worth to wait if you see a wait line, you'll get your order in a pretty decent time. Carly's changed ownership last year, but all the great service and food has continued. Yay! This is still my go-to local spot for a pastry and especially their cafe miel - sweetened with honey. My son gets either a kids hot chocolate (with whipped cream and sprinkles) or a vanilla steamer. He gives thumbs up to both. read more

The morning bun! They have one of the best morning buns! Flakey texture on the outside and almost doughy on the inside on some parts, such a great combo. The place has outdoor seating and man, it was super cold but a nice warm Cuban sandwich helped us beat the cold, on our way to our hike! Definitely a nice stop before continuing the day! read more

Very pleasant staff. Curious custom - the line is outside the little cafe kiosk. Great place to meet the neighbors, and a congenial set of tables on the side. For a meditative treat, grab a coffee and enjoy it sitting in the garden nursery. The Island is lucky to have this little respite. read more

This is for a quick detour for a grande iced mocha heading back towards Bremerton. (6/16/18). I had stopped in at the adjacent Bay Feed and Hay Nursery the previous Saturday. Both places were cool to checkout...both cool interesting and cool standoffish. Clearly I'm not a local resident, both individuals at this indie cafe were servicable but didn't exude any welcoming warmth. Three stars. The extra star was due to receiving an end product mocha that was on point...not cloying, could taste the balance with smooth finish. They use Grounds for Change beans. Cafe featured Farm Kitchen products and other baked goods. There's only outdoor seating. Reminded me of Cafe Bambino in Seattle. Started a stamp card. Four starts total. The stop was long enough to make that assessment of a decent iced mocha, plus make a cell phone call before hitting the road again. read more

Poor customer service. I wanted a coffee on my birthday today (Sun Nov 1 at 10:15am) and found this place along our route. I masked up and walked up to where the signs directed me and opened the door. The barista immediately said: I'm going to need you to please wait outside. It was very off putting so we left! If you want guests to wait outside please put signs up so we know this ahead of time. We can't read minds. Next time please ASK your customer to wait outside instead of ordering them to do something and they might stick around and order a bevvie. read more

This is the closest coffee shop in the neighborhood. They do a consistently good job on their espresso drinks. Their baked treats, sandwiches and other drinks are good as well. They have very little space inside. However, they have a wonderful, covered seating area outdoors over looking the neighborhood nursery. So, it's a great place to hang out and and enjoy the passing of the seasons. The owners are dedicated to the Rollingbay neighborhood, and contribute mightily to the community. The coffee drinks are top-notch, the staff are really nice and the breakfast sandwiches are delicious. The little outdoor seating adjacent to the nursery is a nice "secret spot" to hang out as well. They are being very conscientious about Covid and that's good - right? So be patient, follow the rules and enjoy! read more

I was starving and where we had planned to have lunch, Via Rosa, was closed for Thanksgiving weekend unbeknownst to us until we arrived so I desperately looked for the closest food and Rolling Bay Cafe was it! The tiny cafe had a larger selection than I expected. I had a salami and chèvre sandwich (hit the spot) and a peanut butter cookie (not too sweet). The girls working were friendly. They said their coffee was fresh roasted within the last week, so I gave it a go. I'm glad I did. I did not react badly so it must have been. Off the beaten track, and nestled next to the Bay Hay and Feed store and post office in Rolling Bay, this (really) tiny coffee shop, does a brisk trade on a weekend morning, mostly with the locals since it is well outside Winslow. There is no seating inside, but some seating in the nursery outside, which can make it a super spot to visit. The coffee is better than average - supplied by Storyville, one of the "other" seattle roasters, and the staff are friendly and know their local clientele well. Since it is small there can sometimes be a wait stretching out the door, but with the nursury and the store adjacent, the wait for a coffee, italian soda or baked offering is manageable. Quite a quaint little find, if you can find it! Gets a five star for just being different and able to pull it off well. read more

I've been there a few times, but this most recent visit we noticed a cafe on the side of the store and were delighted to grab a coffee and cookie and sit amongst the flowers of the nursery behind the building. Added bonus is that they have some non-pastry goodies to buy and snack on if you're feeling a bit peckish. read more

Really adorable coffee house!! Lots of gluten free goodies and also muffins. They have tea freshly made in the cooler. I had the passion fruit black tea. My boyfriend had the white chocolate mocha which was also made to perfection. They have an outside patio and they are dog friendly which I think is really cool. There should be more dog friendly places. I believe they have wifi, however I'm not positive. We'll definitely be back next time we head across the water!! :) read more

Love this place. Local Spot perfect for grabbing a latte before heading to Bainbridge's beaches. Easy place to avoid tourists while grabbing homemade snacks (pasta salad, panini, veggies) and local pastries. Patio seating in garden area.. how nice! *Best Cappuccino on Bainbridge. And even Poulsbo. Would rather (and often do) drive to Bainbridge than give-in to a mediocre latte from any of the current Poulsbo options. Well worth the trip. Doesn't seem fair that Bainbridge has two of the best espresso places on one little island.. and not a single spot in Poulsbo... *sigh* read more

After going into the must-see Bainbridge Island Bay Hay and feed, we decided to stop in at The Rolling Bay Cafe. Although it was nothing to write home about food wise, the staff was polite. We tried the turkey sandwiches but they were very dry. I would recommend an addition of a sauce. They appeared to have a little sitting area outside (covered) but it was raining so we didn't explore that option. It's nice this is available though because the inside shop is TINY! read more

The drip and espresso are both wonderful as are the dangerously delightful selection of pastries. I've been looking for you for a month and since I've found you again, I will be back. I'm so glad we did a stop on the way to the mountains back in March, the dulce espresso here was AMAZING. The coffee shop is super tiny, I think only 4-5 people can be in there and order at a time, but it was fine - you head to the back and there's this gorgeous garden, green house and plant farm. So cute. It was one of my fondest memories of our mini-road trip in Washington. Can't wait to go back and have my dulce latte again :-) read more
