I've been continuing to come here for the amazing beer menu and delicious smoked ketchup. Unfortunately, the last time in service was incredibly slow, even in a nearly empty restaurant. I'm usually quite empathetic in these situations but we pretty much had to send smoke signals to get a second round and we were done eating by the time it came. They add a "Massachusetts dining fee" on to the bill now. It might have been there during previous dining experiences and I just never noticed, but I find it crazy that a place that can charge $12 for a beer has to also add fees to pay their staff. It was $177 inc tip for 4 beers, 4 sodas, 2 burgers and 5 sliders. At that price, I shouldn't have to beg for a second round so I'm adjusting my rating. read more

We had the worse experience last night !!! Service was horrible , food was mediocre and not to mention I couldn't get dressing for my salad and one of the meals never showed up .... we were told after asking 3 times about the meal that the "kitchen was crashing" ! And that the meal probably wouldn't be coming out & would you like a salad instead???" Who does that ???? Not to mention they did nothing to try & make things right after speaking with the waiter ! Came in for dinner the weekend of the Boston Marathon so unfortunately I can't speak to the beer but they did have a large and phenomenal menu of beer. The food here is great for a little brewery. Definitely a lot of options and everything we tried was very well done. The arancini balls were honestly nothing more than fried rice balls so I wouldn't recommend them although they were good. The short rib bites were delicious and so tender! The star of the show was obviously the steak frites. My steak was cooked to perfection, the truffle fries were so crispy and the salad was even well dressed. It's cute in this restaurant and fairly priced. Overall the service was just okay, but our waitress looked tired and tried her best so I'm not knocking a star because we have all been there and the food was great! read more

I had last been to this location when it was Watch City Brewery, so I was a little disappointed they are no longer brewing beer here, but they do have a very extensive offering of beers. I love they offer guests a tasting upon arrival - classic "leave them wanting more" sales tactic...who doesn't order a beer after that?! The food offerings are upscale for a bar, but still lean toward the rich and decadent. The fries, including those used for poutine, are very crispy and hold up well to being smothered with curds and gravy. Less successful were the lamb meatballs. Ground lamb is usually tender and juicy due to the high fat content, but these meatballs were dense and dry. They desperately needed the labneh, and the naan lost all softness by being heavily toasted. At $15 for 4 small meatballs, it was overall disappointing. The spicy cauliflower Bao buns were good, albeit expensive at $5 each. We were a party of 5, and the U-shaped booths were perfectly sized. Small enough for intimate conversation and easily sharing appetizers, but big enough to be comfortable. Our server was great - never felt rushed and all our dishes arrived at once...except the brussel sprouts we ordered that never made it to our table. Overall, this newish pub seems like a great place to grab a drink with friends and have some tasty snacks, but perhaps not the best option for a dinner night out. read more

Solid option for a weekend brunch on Moody St. Modern vibe. The service here is great too, super personable and the waiters are more than happy to provide insight into the menu. Service 4.5/5, Food 4/5, Ambiance & Vibe 5/5. We started off with some buffalo wings for the table with blue cheese dressing-- some of the best I've had. Perfectly cooked, super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We were sad they only came with 4, we wanted more! For the brunch entrees I ordered the breakfast burger on an English muffin with a side of fries. It was pretty good, though it was on the sweeter side as the bacon was dressed with a sweet tangy sauce. The burger was cooked well and the over easy egg was too, just how I like it on my burgers. Overall the sandwich was pretty good, and I enjoyed it on an English muffin, but the dressed bacon overpowered the sandwich to a point making it overly sweet and the only thing I noticed for many bites. It would've been perfect with just regular bacon. I also ordered fries with it, but they gave me home fries, which was okay and I decided to try them-- they were just OK. My girlfriend got the crispy pork hash, which was a dish I have never seen before but was good tasting nonetheless. This place is always hopping. The staff is always professional and attentive. The kitchen is run by an amazing chef / owner and his food creations are going to be known far and wide if not already! Bless Chef Took the lady for a quick lunch and sat on the back patio. You always get that nice sample (if you're of age) of some beer on tap and the wait staff always knows the beers that'll match your taste. Nice head to the beer golden ale (not much of an IPA guy) Our burgers were cooked perfectly, the side of fries were crispy just how i like them and well seasoned. The chicken was moist, crispy and the buns were toasted well. We were lucky enough to try some of chef's new creations that i hope will hit the menu very soon, because i think the world should be able to experience them like we were able to. His take on crispy pork with honey siracha was fire the fat melted right in your mouth and flavor reigned supreme. I really loved his salmon sashimi with the special crumble on top i won't mention what it is yet not the sauce but the flavor shined throughout the fresh salmon. Enjoyed that very much. BTT always has plenty of room for parties, wedding receptions, bdays, night out with the squad or dates. Weekends they also have eggs Benedict for brunch which are also delish! Brewer's is located on Moody St in Waltham and they have great food! They offer complimentary popcorn and a sampler of beer. The clam chowder was delicious and had the perfect consistency, served with two packets of crackers. For entrees, we had the crispy fried chicken burger and the french onion smash burger, which both came with crispy fries. Everything we ordered and tried was seasoned perfectly and served piping hot. We decided to sit at their outside patio area and our server was super attentive and checked on us frequently. It was overall a lovely meal. Will definitely be coming back soon. read more

Wow! What a great way to end a day of sightseeing! We searched for restaurants that had outdoor seating and were pet friendly, and BTT hit perfectly. Our server was Kim, and she was so friendly and accommodating, especially with our dog. My husband and I both ordered smashburgers, and they were amazing! Crispy edges, perfectly melted cheese and onion strings. The fries were outstanding! We asked for some grilled chicken for our dog, and Lola gave it two paws up! Unexpectedly very good! Dropped a teenage grandchild off at school on a Sunday before the h.s. spring musical and drove off to downtown Waltham to look for a quick lunch. Parked in a nearly empty town parking lot (2 hrs for $2., a real bargain to us New Yorkers). Walked to Moody St., as usual no reservations, just yelp and hope. The first place we came to on the corner was BTT, looked like some decent vegetarian possibilities on the menu, so we went in. Took a couple of minutes but they did find seats for us (& it didn't fill up in the nearly an hour we were there, so not sure why they consulted over their reservations, but whatever). I ordered the avocado toast and added the 2 sunnyside up eggs option, thinking just avo toast wouldn't fill me, but I even told Niko, our server, that it was probably the best or definitely one of the best avocado toast dishes I've ever had (& it's a favorite of mine so I've had a few!). Two thick slices of a good rustic bread, chunky mashed avocado, greens, and then those perfect eggs - sooo delicious! The decaf coffees were fresh and good. Hubs had their black bean burger with fries and said it was really very good. There's an extensive beer menu, the place is pretty big, it's a college town, and we're guessing it's hopping in the evening, especially on weekends. Wow! What a fun place! I could still see, in my mind's eye, the way this restaurant used to be when it was Watch City Brewing, but this was a nicely updated locale. We were meeting family from out of town for a dinner so the spacious u-shaped booth was perfect. The live music in the balcony was a nice touch - though we had most of our dinner before it started and were easily able to talk. we enjoyed the ambiance- I loved the lounge tables with the large windows that open to Moody Street! Our server was helpful, didn't rush us at all, and left us with a pitcher of water. The watermelon and arugula salad with burrata and toast was a daily special and delicious! The cauliflower bao buns were also very great! They had a nice balance of spicy, sweet flavor and really great texture. These were a nice option for a vegetarian-leaning appetite. The food and drinks are actually pretty good. That atmosphere is honestly what keeps us giving it another chance, such a vibe but the service is just insanely awful. Every time we go it takes +40min to get drinks and they always forget to bring one of our dishes and then try to charge us for it. When we tell them they forgot some items, there is no "sorry" or anything, they just agree to take it off the bill. If you have any ID from out of state they are convinced it is fake for some reason. Just a few rude and incompetent workers. Oh and it's never that busy, the service just seems to consistently be awful. Overall, not the worst place, they just need to do something about the service and employees. Disappointing because again, the food and atmosphere is great. read more

Ok...so this place is great. Great beer selection (they do run out of a lot of things tho. The fries are amazing especially with the nice in-house touch of smoked ketchup. Service is above average. Ambiance-stuff is a little dusty but overall good vibe. The biggest area for improvement is the TVs. There's only 4 and fairly small so it's hard to see the score and the action if you're sitting in the middle. Not a great channel selection either. Watching infomercials on 3 of the TVs on a Saturday afternoon when there should be plenty of football on. City Works has them beat there. read more

The service was great and had us seated at a wide booth which made the ambiance very comfortable. The food came out quickly and they gave us popcorn and tester beer while we waited. The food portions were quite small for the price, but it was solid. The chicken in the chicken and waffles was pretty dry but was fine when eaten together with the waffles. However, the poutine was quite soggy and oily/buttery which I didn't appreciate as much, but it was still good to eat once all that oil droops off. read more

I was early for my dinner at another restaurant here in Waltham and decided that a frosty beverage would be a useful method of consuming my time. The dining room is quite large and they have done a great job of spreading out tables for social distancing. I took a seat at the bar and enjoyed finally being able to remove my mask. Hooray! Once I got comfy, the bartender brought over an unsolicited sample beer for me to try. While the beer wasn't a style I particularly cared for, this is a nice touch and was appreciated. I reviewed the beer menu and did pick one, which was served a few minutes later in the right type of glass. And then I took the time to review the food menu. Dang, this looks amazing. I'm feeling like this might have been a better option. Crispy Brussels sprouts, meat and cheese tray, the bacon burger, any of those would have gone down wonderfully. Flight of four 5 oz beers are good to try the variety on menu. Recommend the hill farmstead marie, fragrant sweet taste without bitterness. Others include Shirley Mar porter which is a light stout with nice coffee taste. Trillium Congress st ipa and Tilted barn the other one DIPA are both juicy fragrant with typical IPA aftertaste. read more

Awesome food and service! To start, the waitress brought over some beer samples for us to try as we sat down, which I thought was a nice touch. We started out with the whipped ricotta which was awesome. It came with preserves on top that made it sweet and savory, definitely recommend. My boyfriend got the French onion smash burger and I got the BTT burger, both cooked great and tasted great. I really like the ambiance in there for a week day, not too loud and the waitress was very attentive. To make it even better, the drinks were great- I got a drink that was like a hard Arnold Palmer. I was here for the first time, and the feelings and impressions are mixed, and cozy, everything is tastefully done, but something is not right, namely The beer is for the connoisseur, but if you are not sure which one to choose they will give you a small glass to try. The food leaves a lot to be desired. Open mic night was pretty good. The rotation of performers kept us entertained. The staff was friendly and quick. In town for work, and wanted to grab a beer with a reasonably priced dinner and happily accomplished both here. We did not have reservations for a Tuesday night but got a table right away (they were decently busy). I found their beer prices to be a tad high ($8-9 is as cheap as you get) but getting a flight was a good option in my case. Our waiter also hooked me up for a free beer which I assume was due to someone else's mistake but I'm not complaining. The fried chicken sandwich and fries were fantastic - and one star was docked only due to the fact that the chicken was overcooked which made it a little dry. But the flavor was spot on. read more

No complaints heard from the others. One got the traditional "maine style" lobster roll- mayo, crisp shredded lettuce, black pepper, toasted brioche roll, lemon, malt vinegar dusted chips 4oz $29. Brewer's Tap is a standard place for pub food on Moody Street in Waltham. We ordered food for pickup and I tried the lamb burger. I thought it would be good to try something new instead of a typical beef burger. The lamb patty was cooked well and the brioche bun was able to hold it all in. I love cheese, but the giant hunk of fried feta was not my cup of tea. The amount of feta was too much, so after taking it out it was just a plain burger. The fries were pretty standard and of course, get soggy from take-out. I'd recommend getting something different off their menu if you decide to give them a try. read more

I've been here a couple of times in the past when co-workers have come in from out of town but tonight was the first time our siblings have gotten together at a restaurant in years without kids. My wife and I were the first ones to arrive and after checking in with the host we went to the bar for a quick app and a cocktail. Daniel (? - the receipt only says PM - Bar) was fantastic. Walked thru some quick tastes of their 30+ taps and some cocktail recommendations. We each ended up with a cocktail (Sazerac Rye Manhattan & Spiced Pear Martini) and the meat and cheese plate to tide us over till the rest arrived. The platter had several artisanal meats, 2 types of blue cheese, fresh burrata & and some condiments. Was the perfect starter to the evening. As people arrived we were directed to a wide table near the kitchen. As a party of 8 - the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Arry, as our server, was fantastic in making sure to check in with us regularly and the other staff was quick to help clear a plate or a finished drink without asking. From the Ricotta appetizer to the entrees (Grilled Cheese, Steak Frites, Fried Haddock, Atlantic Salmon, BIT Burger a chicken Caesar Salad) it was all farm to table and delicious. If you are looking for a great spot between Worcester and The North Shore - highly recommend giving this place a try. read more
