(1.5 stars, edited to include more info) Came here on a Saturday night for a friend's birthday. We were a group of 20, so we already expected it to take a while for everyone to order, for everyone to get food, etc, but we made a reservation for dinner ahead of time. So what we did not expect was for them to seat the majority of the group in what looked like their lounge/waiting area, full of couches and 2 low tables. A few members of the group sat at the end of the bar. It did take a while to get drinks and food, as expected, but when they did come out, the waitresses practically shouted our orders at us as my friend said, "like an auction". A bunch of people in the group were skipped over, so their orders never got taken, it took a while to put their orders in and, consequently, they got their food much later. One of my friends also had her drink order taken, and then when everyone else's drinks came out, she was told that there was no more rosé, which seems like something a waiter should check before confirming the order. And the group in the lounge area- like no one should be expected to eat with their food on their lap in a nice restaurant. A table shouldn't be too much to ask for. And keep in mind, the restaurant wasn't completely full. We also saw that there was an upstairs area (not sure if you had to specially reserve it, but at least it seemed like it would have been a much better place to seat 20 people). They also had a small separated dining room, which became free before we got our food. The lounge group asked to be moved there, but we weren't allowed. Yes, we are college students, but we were dressed nicely, we weren't being loud, and we're still paying customers. And we were here for a birthday, the birthday girl should not have to worry about where her friends are going to eat their dinner. I split the grilled cheese and calamari appetizer with a friend. The food was pretty good, which was the only saving grace of the night and the only reason this review isn't one star. read more

Solid spot! We loved the vibe and food was good. We got the crispy friend chicken which was our favorite! The whipped ricotta was great, served w the best bread and some fruit preserves on top. Lastly, we got the gnocchi bolognese and the sauce was so good! The only thing that we noticed was that our waiter was a bit rude. We assumed it was because of how busy it got on a Saturday night. Me and my girlfriend went here on a whim last night for dinner - the restaurant didn't have a sign, and we remembered it being an antique store, so we were curious what was going on. It was a very good choice for us! The environment was very fun, and the restaurant decor was very pretty. They had a pretty good list of fancy cocktails ranging from $10-15, which was a bit pricy, but if it's in your budget then they're good! I got the BTT French and she got the Cobbler, and we both enjoyed them. The food didn't have too many options, especially if you don't have super fancy taste, but it's a weekly rotatng menu for now, so if you don't like anything, check back later. Don't just assume you'll find something you'll like on the menu though. Its supposed to be tapas style, but the plates were pretty expensive, so we each just got one thing. I got flank steak, and she got the Japanese eggplant, and they were pretty good, though again expensive for the amount of food you're getting ($20 and $16). Overall we had a fun night! Went there for brunch. Great layout and service was first rate. Beer selection was outstanding and everything was what I'd expect from a brew pub. Unfortunately the food was awful. Things came out cold and was an odd mix of tastes. Eggs were way overcooked as was the fried chicken. Meals came with some bizarre fried potato long hash brown that was fried in whatever oil they fried everything else with today - and probably yesterday and the day before. Picked this spot for lunch. It's nice inside - spacious and nice decor. Our server was great - friendly and helpful. Food was good not great. I had the quinoa salad and it had way too much quinoa - and very little salad greens and the other things that came in the salad. I would go back but would try the burger instead. read more

Was recommended to this place by a friend for a good selection of drinks and food. They definitely have both but the service left a lot to be desired. Our waitress didn't say more than ten words to us and didn't seem to even care that we were there. I get more attention from my x wife than I did from that waitress. Didn't even come by and ask us how our meals were or if we needed anything, I wanted to get ketchup for my burger but nope didn't get it (god forbid a man gets ketchup for his burger). When she asked us if we were all set, we told her yes and wanted to box everything up. She came back with three empty boxes for us, she put them on the table for us to put our food in and left the check. When I paid the bill and she brought it back handed it to me and didn't even thank us for coming or tell us to have a good night. I got a glass of wine which seemed to be pretty under poured. That to go along with the heinous service has me at three stars. The selection is pretty good, maybe last night was an off night for them as my x wife use to tell me all the time. read more

Ok. We came here by mistake. We were looking for the restaurant next door! Since there is no sign AT ALL for Brewer's, we wandered in. It looked interesting, so we decided to give it a try. Good choice! Great open spaces, friendly helpful staff. The draft beer list pleased my picky wife, and the food was exceptional. My wife had the kale salad and charcuterie platter (very nice). I had the spinach salad (yum!) and spaghetti. Ask for half sized salads - not on the menu, but suggested by our helpful server and than enough as a side. It was a delightful experience. Giving this 2 stars literally because of the poor choice in glass sizes. This is an $8 beer - modern times fortunate island pale 4.8% - and the glass isn't larger than this $10 bill. If you're charging that much for beer you need to be giving me at least 16 ounces. read more

So the food is good, nothing to call home about, but that's not why I'm leaving this review. I came in at 9:30pm, and was immediately told that last call was in 15 minutes. I remarked that wow, that's early, and they said it's because it was so slow. Okay, understandable, but there were 3 tables of 4, and 2 of 2, in addition to approximately seven people seated at the bar. While I sat and finished my drink with my friend, I watched over 6 people be turned away. Who allows their restaurant which claims to be open until midnight to be totally closed for service at 10pm? If your staffs only goal is to go home early maybe you should change your online listed hours. read more

Came here last night for the first time! The beer selection is incredible, you will NOT be disappointed. The bartender let me taste whatever I wanted! Love when they do that. The reason I took off two stars is because the food was very average. We ordered the pretzel, spicy crab dip, and the chicken sandwhich. The pretzel was OK at best, the mustard and pimento dip were served in those tiny white paper condiment cups that you put ketchup in at a baseball game. You barely get any sauce. And I like sauce. It also could have used a beer cheese dip, desperately...Also, the "spicy crab dip" was not spicy AT ALL! Huge let down. The chips were half soggy and half crispy. Not a good ratio. Very spacious and great for a large group of people. Beer selection is average but you should be able to find something that will meet your preference. Food menu seems pretty solid. I tried their crispy chicken sandwich and it was right on the money in terms of what I was looking for. Overall, I think this place has A LOT of potential. This place makes me want to move back to Waltham! Blown away by decor, ambiance, seating options, and menu. One thing to note is they have a FULL WINE LIST AND BAR. Good for people who don't love brews. The chai cider was ON POINT. Like a dessert. Tasting galore too from super nice bartenders. Zucchini app and ricotta app were HUGE portions and VERY flavorful and fresh! Bathrooms were pristine. Back patio was ADORABLE and the tunes were perfect. This place is great! So many beers to choose from. I went when it first opened and I got to chat to some of the employees and the owner. I've seen the owner there plenty of times working hard to make sure things are running smoothly. They used to have a small plate menu, almost like tapas. It seems that over time they changed to have more entree style menu items. Both are good, but the tapas offered some great variety, and they chose really interesting recipes. Every time I've been, the food has been cooked well and no mistakes were made. The pickled vegetable appetizer is delicious, but I feel like they should give you more for the money. It's a big space with lots of seating choices. They did a great job to deal with the acoustics, considering how tall the ceilings are. I was in the Boston area for a little over a week (staying in Waltham) and gave this place a shot. Whoops.... The greeter was downright rude, the food was awful. my medium-rare steak came well-done, the fries were cold, and the spinach was about as disgusting as I've ever encountered. My girlfriend got a soup of some sort? It had absolutely no flavor. We split wings and fried feta appetizers. The wings were so dry they were tough. The feta was actually pretty good. The bartender didn't even bother to ask why I discarded well over half my steak (the gristle part, not kidding, over half, how is that even possible?) almost all of my fries and all of the spinach. The greeter did ask why we didn't finish our beers and to his credit, asked for feedback (which he received and seemed to take seriously). There are good options on Moody. For food, this is not one of them. We did leave a decent tip because the bartenders that served us were very nice and provided good service. I resisted the temptation to write "do not split with cooks" on the receipt. read more

I am so bummed that such a disappointing restaurant inhabits this gorgeous space. A few notes: Every cocktail is too sweet. This may be the schtick here, which is fine. But what's not fine is ordering a dry martini off-menu and being served something with slushy-like ice. You could pour straight up Henricks in a martini glass after shaking it with ice and I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference-- just put a twist in there. But this bartender couldn't make a MARTINI. So maybe this is primarily a beer bar and I shouldn't expect much. But I do because it's got a GD cocktail menu. The staff here is either aloof or oddly neg-y in the way an insecure Tinder date would be. The service industry requires at least an iota of warmth and this place is chilly as hell. If you order food after 9 pm, don't expect to ever get it. My group of three just asked for some chips and hummus, and after 45 minutes it was clear that our order never made it to the kitchen. It wasn't worth bothering the already salty bartender so we just moved on to the pizza place down the street. We weren't charged for it. To be fair, I'm probably more upset than most would be about how bad this place is. I enjoyed Watch City and when I watched what the owners were doing with the space before it opened (I like to peek through windows), I was SO jazzed. This place could be filling a gap in Waltham's dining and bar scene, and it's falling short. Bistro 781 does not have the same ambience but the food is fantastic, the service is wonderful, and the drinks are spot-on. read more

First of all, overpriced. I just went to use the remaining balance on a gift card of $9.33 and they wouldn't honor it. They told me the gift card balance came back as $0.00 even though I had a receipt that showed the gift card balance from the last time I was there. Not only did they not honor the small amount on top of it the manager and front desk were far from hospitable. I was treated as if I was trying to scam a free sandwich. Give me a break. And then they were surprised when I left and didn't want to pay without the gift card for the overpriced sandwich. read more

I have stopped at Brewer's Tap & Table a few times now and have been quite impressed. The large and varied selection of craft beers means there is no shortage of choices. The room itself is spacious with a long bar and several communal tables. In my experience service has also been on point and attentive. I have yet to try any of the main courses there, from the starters menu the crispy brussel sprouts and grilled bread with whipped ricotta were quite good. Well worth a visit when you're in the Moody St area. read more

Best Wedding Venue and best event team! My husband and I hosted our Wedding reception at Brewer's Tap and Table this past November and it was such an amazing experience. Wow...really impressed with Brewer's tap and tavern....we went to go to another restuarant for brunch and didn't like their menu..."fell" in to Brewers and it was the BEST landing ever!..Molly was our server and she was AMAZING! the brunch menu was plentiful, my husband chose the Cubano and I ordered ala carte.. we had mimosas and bloody marys...food was delicious, we are taking home doggie bags because there was so much! The chef even came out to see how the food was and if there were any suggestions to make improvements. He was very friendly and much the conversationalist..stayed for a few blueberry beers and peach bellinis. This is one of the best spots on Moody. It's large and well decorated, it has a bar-like atmosphere without being too dark. The beer list is very good, with lots of local craft brews and the option to do flights. Just be sure to check your bill - twice we were charged the full price for a beer instead of the sampler size. The cocktails are creative, but kind of miss the mark for me. The wine list is all domestic, but has good enough variety. This is definitely a beer drinker's spot. The drink list changes frequently so the options never get stale. The food is great. It's mostly fried bar food. Like the drink menu, the food menu changes regularly. The mushroom fritters are excellent and have been on the menu for a long time. Everything we've had has been excellent. Service is good besides the full-price beer instead of a flight mix up. We haven't had to wait yet. Overall, a solid choice for trendy American beer and good. read more

Moved here in August and loved coming here. Great beer list, staff, and food! We haven't been able To make it for a few months but went back tonight and were so disappointed. 75% of the beers on the list were 10-13$, huge increase in price! They had beers under 5% alcohol that were $10+. Food was sub par compared to what it previously was, none of the same staff were there. If you're going to spend $13 don't spend it on a beer, go up to the backroom and have them make you a cocktail the way it should be made, or get a beer for reasonable 8/9$ in Waltham. read more

I've been here for dinner and I've hosted an event here, and both were great experiences. Its a trendy and upscale restaurant on a street made for foodies, yet it stands out and really has a great atmosphere. I would completely recommend for both events and just a dinner on Moody. read more

If I could sum this place up in one word it would be "cheap". Figures for a place that took almost 2 years to get a sign up. When you walk in there are 3 awkward cozy tables on one side and couches and tables to the other. The right said has the only 4 booths in the whole place while in the middle are all the long shared tables. The bar while big is awkwardly shaped and all the high tops are again that shared style. So literally you can have two strangers next to you at a nigh 4 top. We got the wings and Brussel sprouts to start. Wings were rubbery and undercooked while the sprouts were burnt to a char. They must have had left over brisket rub they needed to use because the fries and chicken sandwich were cover in so much rub your mouth was so dry you needed a drink. So many beers on tap I should have known my beer was going to be stale. Never going back to say the least. read more

I have eaten here twice now and have been very happy with the food. Calamari, short ribs, steak frites, and chicken wings with some pesto sauce were all delicious. However, I found the bar seats to be very uncomfortable and difficult to adjust, especially with such tight quarters. The service was just ok. Checked out Brewer's Tap & Table last night. They open this week sometime. Huge thumbs up. The pre-launch menu was limited, but every dish was fantastic, particularly the smoked bluefish. The preparation was meticulous. Similarly, they are serious behind the bar with intriguing craft cocktails, a great list of wines and, of course, beers. 24 on tap at this point, going to 48, and each a craft brew from a collection of New England's finest breweries, many of which you've not heard of.
