No one came by to take a drink order or check to see if we were ready to order food. As we were walking out the bartender then decided to walk our way. Tried this place for the first time. Hard going here with Joe Caribe still fresh in my mind, but I can't hold that against new blood. I was disappointed they turned Joes into a Pizza Factory, but encouraged by the prospect of a unique burger place. And I think that's what they provided. Still looks like Joes bar, comfortable and inviting. Bar tender / waitress was pleasant and talkative. We sat at the bar. Great beer selection with some mondo big beers (32oz) for about $12. My wife and I tried a few different things to get a feel for it. Pickle chips- yummy Sweet potato tots- very sweet and I loved the sauce Burger- delicious but I think it will be controversial Explanation- it's a small burger, as you will see in some of the other comments, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in quality (as with most things in life). It's wagyu beef and very well seasoned and prepared. We have places in town that make great burgers that are big (best is club car in my opinion), but this is just a better quality burger, and that's what they're going for. Give it try. Ale house started with wagyu beef but reverted back I think because it's just not popular enough to pay the upgrade. If you want a burger and fries, most people are looking for a full belly and a beer to wash it down. But I hope they at least keep it on the menu, even if they do have to eventually dumb it down to stay afloat. Bottom line, definitely worth a try or two. read more

So this is the second time we tried this place. The first time we went, we were told sit wherever (apparently you can sit in the pizza express side too, they are connected). We sat in the, what seemed to be, main area by the music and bar. Waited a long while, no one ever came and we left. But.....we had heard others say how yummy it is, so off we went tonight to try again. Same deal, sit wherever...we did. This time we at least had service right away, looked like one person running the bar and tables, whatever, she was very friendly and came right over once we sat down. Ordered burgers, asked to be cooked medium because the menu says they cook them all medium well unless otherwise specified. Also ordered some pickle chips and spicy green beans. Pickle chips were just ok, green beans were good, but not spicy at all. Got the burgers, very over cooked in spite of our request. I could taste the "char" as some would call it, but I'd call it burnt. If it had not been overcooked, probably would have been a decent burger (I got the bbq and my husband got the spicy one, but both were overcooked). Mason greeted us from behind the bar was we walked in, as he did every customer that came in while we had lunch on our drive back from Tahoe. The Brewster burger was delicious and our kids completely finished their entrees (chx tenders and mini corn dogs, both with fries). Going to be brutally honest here... you can tell they have come in with good intentions for a fun place to frequent for patrons with huge tv's big bar and even a small stage, I assume for live music one day and with a bar style feel good quick bites food. I get they are a new business with bumps and curbs but that wasn't quite it. there was a stale feeling and dullness inside. First off the waitress although, nice was extremely mono tone and at times forgot items & told us it was her first day and I'm think wow how did they already loose employees this early on whole open and had to rehire. Waitress didn't check in much either with us. Even upon leaving she was no where to be found for us to even say thank you too or her thank us for coming. My other disappointment was all the "owners" were in the back kitchen area and you'd see one pop out for the restroom or check on something but not once did they take the time to say to us "welcome to our restaurant" or "thank you for coming how did you like it." Which for a new business in a small town is very warming to connect with and feel welcome and appreciated as customer to want to return. Now the food. I agree the burger was perfectly cooked and flavorful and I don't even like burgers but ate the entire thing. That was the only good thing about our meals. The portions are EXTREMELY small especially for the price. The burger is the size of a Jr burger and my super super small salad as my side choice. Ranch dressing and salad although were fresh and too just horribly small amount. The kids grilled cheese was way over priced and came out unmelted so we sent it back. Again very small portions yet still a high price. The fish and chips were the worst!!! You get two small unflavored pieces of brown looking fish inside (cheap) and a even smaller than a kids plate of fries with it. Unfortunately, based on the prices, lack of ambiance's, and over priced portions I won't be back and will spend the same amount of money for larger guaranteed goodness supporting another local favorite burger spot. Oh and the last thing I found odd was they have a fancy looking bar containing not even one open bottle. and the waitress didn't even make the drinks and went next door in the shared building pizza place to get their drink. That was odd. I wish them luck but I just don't think they'll ever blow up like other excellent local spots but they may get lucky with hungry hotel guest behind them here & there. read more

Tried out the new place. Disappointed. The portions are EXTREMELY small and for the price you're paying it's like actually insane. I got a chicken sandwich and it was sooo tiny. Which was even more expensive than the wagyu beef burger that another review says causes the prices to be so high. And on top of the small burger size the sides are extremely small as well. The flavors of the burger were really good hence the two stars. But the bartender waitress chick was obnoxious so just overall not the most pleasant experience and will absolutely not be returning unfortunately. Either lower the price or make the portions more reasonable. read more

You would think you'd get a sorry or my bad but absolutely nothing from either. Not only did they screw up on ours but they did on the table next to us and "burnout" out tells the women "well you can have your burger (that came late" or I can throw it away" lol.
