Came in at 3 p.m. was served a perfectly lovely omelette called the South Beach with avocado sliced on top and swiss, bacon, spinach in the dish. I saw this restaurant being built during the summer. I figured I would give it a while to get established. Today I tried them out for breakfast. I ordered the California Benedict with fruit. Huge portion. Took half home for lunch. The food came out of the kitchen in record time but it was hot and tasty. Only negative was my waitress never checked if my food was satisfactory or refilled my coffee though she walked by my table numerous times as I was placed right off the kitchen entrance/exit. I would have flagged her down if I desperately needed something, but I do feel she should have checked at least once on my satisfaction. read more

The prices are just as high as the upscale spots in Batavia and Geneva but portions are half as big. Can't charge a premium if the place looks old and dirty and your portions are so small. Filthy, the bathroom, cobwebs between booth and walls, the plexiglass glass dividers were smeared with fingerprints. When we sat down, I politely told the waitress (who was very nice) that the bathroom needed attention. She apologized and told another waitress who looked up at me and said "THAT'S not our job!" Then when our food came, there was long strands of hair in mine. The owner asked how everything was and my husband said "awful." The owner turned away without saying a word. Based on two visits, this is a place for people who don't care about quality. This morning's breakfast included coffee with no taste and a waffle that, while comparably priced with other restaurants, was made with that all-too-common cheap, prefab mix. It also was underdone. The bacon could have been good, but tasted like it had been cooked at four in the morning and left sitting in a pan to be warmed up. read more

If you are looking for somewhere that is taking the global pandemic seriously and following state guidelines then look elsewhere. I have been there twice. Once in July and once at the end of August. Both occurrences I was shocked at how few employees were wearing masks. They have a large outdoor seating area, which is great, but if you are unfortunate enough to eat inside (which we had to both times due to outside being full) you will experience the lack of concern the staff and management clearly have for the global pandemic taking place. Few masks on severs and not one cook had a mask on. It was almost comical how inconsiderate the staff were. On several occurrences I watched the servers walk in from outside, pull off their masks, and talk to other staff. One server went to all of her tables with her mask around her chin. I do have to say that we were lucky enough to have the only server that kept her mask on the ENTIRE time she was working, I didn't realize how difficult it must be compared to her coworkers. I had an extremely difficult time focusing with the utter shock from the staff negligence but the food was subpar. For an average meal, I would look elsewhere to a place that follows state guidelines. read more

Wish I could give 3 stars but I feel like I'd just do it to be nice. I've eaten here 4 times and two of those times my order has been completely screwed up. There's some interesting acoustics making it difficult to eavesdrop which makes me comfortable to converse rather freely. The coffee is decent quality and for the most part the staff is friendly, if you can communicate your preferences and needs. On one visit I tried three times to have my order fixed (Cali Benedict w/the tomato raw, the tomato uncooked, but still have the tomato, just don't cook it, so raw but still with the meal) before I gave up. On this last visit I substituted my bacon for "extra extra" spinach on the Poppey Skillet and there was zero extra spinach. I mentioned there was no extra spinach to my server when I noticed halfway through that the spinach wasn't hiding and my plate was pretty much all hashbrowns-- she asked why I didn't mention it sooner, as though it was my fault and I could only think 'why is it my fault that my order was improperly prepared?'... The coffee here is the same price as a small black coffee at Starbucks and even though they held my bacon and didn't add any spinach they charged me $9.95 or so for my 'hash brown skillet' with a side of biscuits and gravy; so for 3 people our tab somehow worked itself up to $46 and change, and my girlfriend only got a yogurt parfait with fruit. Think I'm officially giving up on this place. There's about 4 better options in 100 meters, I'll just go to those places I suppose. read more

It's Father's Day and I'm completely aware of how hectic a breakfast place can be during holiday weekends. With 4 kids and 2 adults, I call multiple places to figure out wait times and what is manageable for our family. Briana's Pancake House answers and says that there is no current wait time and there's even a large booth available right now for our party of 6. We get there within 5-10 minutes and are told there is a 30-35 minute wait and that there are no tables available ... Not only this but there was a party that had been waiting for about 30 minutes ahead of us that needed to be seated first. Why didn't they tell us this over the phone!? When I told them we just talked to someone, they tried to explain to us that no one even answers the phone ... Then later confirm that, yes, someone DID answer and speak to us over the phone and that the lady we talked to said a table was available but they don't know why they told us what they did. When we asked to speak to a manager, the girl went over, only to come back and say he was busy. That he didn't want to come up front and talk to us, but she could take a number ... We gathered our 4 kids and walked back out. Absolutely frustrating. Can't believe the manager didn't even want to address the situation. Unfortunately, we will never try coming back and we will pass on our experience to anyone who even considers coming here. read more

I'm a pretty busy guy so I'm in and out within 20 minutes. Without saying anything, after the 3rd time being in there, the waitress already understood, having my bill there for me before I could even ask. I already love this place because Avery veggie skillet I've had anywhere else does not have the ingredients that they have. Spinach, broccoli, mushrooms, tomatoes, red peppers, and green peppers. I also get fruit, apples, pineapple, melon, strawberries, grapes and oranges. Nobody else offer this great stuff! Tried this place right after they opened their Batavia location. I was excited because I have friends that frequent their Elburn location. I would give 3.5 stars if I could, but since I can't on Yelp, they only get 3 stars. The service was great, and the wait was not too long. The food was good, but nothing special about it. The soup tasted homemade, but a little on the thick side. The french toast was good, and the kids loved their pancakes. Talk about your neighborhood spot. The menu looks like a standard diner, but the options are unlimited. They have taken so many of our complicated orders and have never gotten any of them wrong. They have learned our favorites and know us at sight and although we frequent it, we are not even there every week, so you know the attention to detail is there. Another place we had yet to try, so we decided to give it a go. Briana's seems to be a local chain as I believe there a few more. We were promptly greeted as we walked in and were seated in a booth off on the side of the restaurant and the booth was broken. It felt like there was just a spring and no padding, hence almost the feeling of falling through it. This happened no matter where on that particular side of the booth you sat, so we moved to the booth behind us. Our waitress was pleasant, but had no clue of her name. She gave us some time with the menu, which is quite massive, in order for us to decide. She came back to take the order and I asked a question about a certain item and she clearly didn't know the menu. I asked for no onions and asked if I could add mushrooms and her reply "So you like mushrooms, but don't like onions?" ... yes... right now, I can eat onions, my apologies for inconveniencing your order taking. She then tried to convince me to order it with onions and I again said that I can't presently. After she left, we noted that the place was absolutely filthy. Food on the floors, paper and debris everywhere and most notably, we probably had 10 flies around us at all times. I'll agree with previous reviews, cleanliness is not a priority for this place. My mom even told me there was a puddle of water in the restroom. Our food arrived after a lengthy amount of time, especially for 2 people, and it was just warm, not hot. Whatever, we weren't going to send it back at this point because I don't think the staff cared or wanted to be there. The food was standard fare... nothing great, just whatever. I do like that whoever made the omelet added salt in order for it to have some flavor. The hostess was the best thing about the experience as she was polite and pleasant. First time here and it was a mixed experience. I would say in general that everything on the menu is 1-2$ more than other comparable restaurants. I ordered a breakfast skillet and it was good. My wife ordered a panini and it was not good at all. Cold, bread not buttered, and cheese not melted. They acknowledged it was sub par, and took it off our bill. Soup and fries were good. I enjoyed this place for breakfast until yesterday - I asked for onions in my hash browns - which I have done for many years (we are in the Midwest) and when I received my bill for one egg and an ice tea it was 10.49?!?! I was charged 1.25 for the onions??? I have NEVER been charged for onions in hash browns. When I asked its a standard charge for extra add on items. I didn't even order any meat. My favorite place the food is always Delicious but today we went for breakfast and we was sitting for 20 min and nobody greeted us. They had 4 servers and they just passed like nobody was sitting. My husband went to ask them who was our waitress but they looked at each other like is nobody's table lol. That's when we decide to leave. We stopped in for breakfast shortly after Brianna's opened their doors. It seemed a bit chaotic which is to be expected for a new business but this being there fourth location you would hope that they would have worked out some of the bugs by now. It took a bit for someone to acknowledge us at the register so we could check in. They seem busy but there were open tables but yet we were still told there would be a 15 to 20-minute wait. The initial opinion was that they are understaffed. Our waitress once we got seated was friendly but was running in six different directions and kept apologizing for the wait. The food came somewhat quickly although we could see that there was a backup in the kitchen. It took a while for us to get our coffee and they do not give you crafts at the table so refills were few and far between. Once the food did arrive it was good, not great but I guess it's hard to reinvent the wheel. The first thought was the menu is too large with the understanding that everyone can't do every dish great so parrot down to your best dishes. There is a lot to choose from and our food was a bit on the colder side that hot. We will definitely try them again after the newness wears off but again, after having multiple locations you should be ready for the initial Rush once you open your doors. So when recapping the visit there wasn't anything that stood out, the staff was a bit unattentive and the waitress was friendly but way overworked to give us any serious attention.
