I've had Brian service both my vehicles since myself and my wife moved to Galt a few years ago. Before I found Brian's Shop I'd been to a couple of the other Galt mechanics and although the did the job, usually pretty decently priced and typically did the work expected I found Brian goes that little extra bit more. For instance, The head gasket blew on my Grand Prix, took it into Brian's and he told me he'd call me back in an hour or two once he had a better picture of if it was going to be a pretty simple job or not. He phoned me back about an hour and half later to tell me what he found. He laid it all out, the pluses and the minuses, and advised me that perhaps retiring the car would be better than investing more money on an engine that's days were numbered without a serious investment and probably a complete rebuild. Sure, he could have just replaced the gasket, had the head checked and re-milled, taken my check and slapped me on the back but he was honest, upfront, and had no qualms in telling me that in addition to the head gasket the cylinder compression was weak on one cylinder, almost non-existent on another cylinder, and that the bottom end of the engine had some minor but irreversible damage as a result of the gasket blowing out. He told me it would be a crap shoot and in good conscience he couldn't advise me to have the work done because the engine was pretty much on its last leg anyway. Frankly, I admire any craftsmen, but I especially admire those that make the choice every day to rise above their competitors and do something extraordinary. read more

Called looking for an estimate and never heard back. This was the second time this had happened to me on two different occasions. I thought the first time was possibly a fluke because of what I read and was told by word of mouth. But how do explain the second occurrence? He or they may be good mechanics but I guess I'll never know... read more

I took my 2005 Nissan Maxima into Brians bc i was having problems with it, it was making so much noise and since i dont anything about cars, my boss Nelson @j&dautobody referred me over to Brians automotive. And he fixed EVERYTHING! i couldnt have been happier. i felt as if ive known the amazing couple for years! i even got a ride to work by the Owner Brian himself. He had my car done within ONE day. He had all of the parts ordered up within 1 day or 2. My Maxima runs great and i have no problems. And the price was significantly lower for me then anywhere else ive ever heard. but i just felt like i was taken care of so well. And the wife Bobbi is the sweetest person in the world. I had my first experience at Brians about 3 years ago when I had to have my radiator worked on. I knew what parts I needed and bought them thinking I would put it in myself. Yea Right! I went to Brian and he charged me 1 1/2 hours labor to install the parts. Everybody else wanted 2 1/2 hours labor and I couldn't figure out where the extra hour was coming from !? The book they told me ! Oh, Ok. Brian doesn't go by the book hours. He charges you the time it takes him to fix the problem, which is extremely honest and fair of him. The other garages have service writers who are in cahoots with the mechanics to get stuff done fast and they all get their bonuses and the dealership makes a big profit. Is that customer service ? It is if you go to the big dealerships. I now have my mother and mother in law going to Brian and feel like he really watches out for older folks. Here are two examples... my mothers dog chewed on her seat belt latch and we were unable to use the seat belt, she took her car to Brian and told him she needed a new seat belt . Brian sanded and manipulated the latch for 15 min and fixed it perfectly. The charge? Zero, Nada 2nd example: My mother in law had oil leaking from her car and took it to a Lodi repair shop. They told her that her brake oil reservoir and brake lines needed to be replaced and quoted her $1700 to fix it ! I had her take it to Brian who told her that the brake lines were fine and replaced the oil reservoir for $115. That's honesty and integrity at work and I commend you Brian for doing a good job at a fair price. Thank You Very Much !! read more
