We have American walnut floors that had gone 15 years with nothing more than weekly sweeping and mopping, so they were long overdue for some attention. We didn't want a full refinishing just a deep clean - and the results were better than I expected. They removed years of build-up from floor cleaning products and buffed out all the scuffs from shoes and furniture. Wow, these guys are fantastic. Super easy to work with. I am handicapped and they were very accommodating. Their skills and know-how were very evident, because they had to do some special tricks across floor transitions that wouldn't catch my cane and wheelchair. They were very, very patient with me, when I kept going back to the store to try out many different floor samples. All the workers in the house were very respectful. I couldn't be happier with the work they did. They gave me great advice on different things that I wanted to do. They were able to pull off a complicated blend from the old floor to the new floor and left no edge for my wheelchair to catch on. In 2011, I was looking for the perfect hardwood floor. I found it at Brian's hardwood floors, thanks to their extensive collection of quality materials. It was Russian Elm. His guys did a fantastic job of installing it, including creating a "picture frame" around the hearth. But they also meticulously cut it to perfectly follow the rough rock edge of the fireplace. And because I had stereo speakers on the other side of the room, they had to bury the speaker wire in the floor. It looked great when they finished, and it still does. Fast forward to today, and those speaker wires have corroded completely through, apparently due to lye leaching out of the concrete slab. Brian to the rescue. His guy, Ricardo, did an impeccable job of removing the planks covering the speaker wires without marring the adjacent ones, which was no easy feat since they are tongue groove. He then cut a groove into the new flooring material (which I had fortunately saved from the original job), and laid it to complete the job flawlessly. I couldn't recommend Brian more highly. He clearly takes pride in every job, he has an amazing selection of materials, his guys do an incredible job, and his prices are fair. read more

I've been dealing with a worn area of my oak hardwood bedroom floor and finally decided to do something about it. Brian's Hardwood came out on Friday and really did a fantastic job of matching the area to the surrounding flooring. Ricardo stained two pieces of wood for a sample and I chose the other which I thought was a good match. Much to my surprise he came back a few minutes later with another sample. He obviously wasn't 100% pleased with the one I thought we were going with! I was extremely impressed that such meticulousness and attention to detail was exhibited! Brian did an excellent job of investigating why our current laminate floor (of 12 years) was continually creaking and tenting at the seams. He found that the previous installers not only did not leave room for the float at the edges but also used nails in some places (an absolute no-no). I was so glad that Brian himself supervised every stage but that he had a very experienced lead and project manager on site and working with the men at all times. They were very professional, quick, and neat doing their work. They stayed within budget exactly, and did not extend the finishing date. They did a great job installing our pre-finished Brazilian Teak even with all the uneven subflooring of a house from the 1940s. I have used Brian the last few years for repairs to my 1945 Ash floor and they have done a wonderful job. I had a small piece chip recently and they have just really dropped the ball in communicating. I had an initial response from there office and then radio silence. Joann, who runs the office, had not replied to one email or phone message over the last month. We needed our oak floors refinished. Brian, who has been in the business for a long time, is very knowledgeable. He came promptly to inspect and measure our floors, and provided a free quote for the job. His quote wasn't the lowest we received, but he inspired such confidence that we chose his business for the work. The team assigned did a great job. They were punctual, meticulous and cordial. After they finished refinishing the floors (which now look like new!), we had painters come paint the walls in the same areas. Brian and crew did an excellent job refinishing the Douglas Fir hardwood floors in an historic 100 year old bungalow. They had to feather in boards to cover a hole from the removal of a floor heater decades before. They also had to replace a few boards due to termite damage. The patches were seamless. Brian and his team were recommended to me by one of my law partners. My husband and I hired a general contractor to remodel our kitchen and master bathroom. When they pulled up the old breakfast bar during the demo, we discovered that a section of hardwood floor was missing - and needed to have it repaired. Our contractor refused to do it, so we had to scramble and find someone on short notice. Brian was incredibly responsive, and while his bid wasn't the cheapest, we felt most confident going with him. Couldn't have been happier about that decision. When our contractor got surly about fixing a mistake they had made in a transition area between the kitchen (which would be tiled) and this area of the hardwood, Brian stood firm and insisted on no cheap fixes. He was honestly a lifesaver (and I'm normally not this effusive) - completely patient while we were working out the issue.
