    Fried catfish

Stopped in on whim and so glad we did!! I had the catfish platter and it was awesome! Husband had a triple combo with large fried shrimp, clam strips and 2 deviled crabs. Good was awesome, service was fantastic!! Highly recommend this place!

Three stars for the service bc the food is not even one star! I'm in Virginia visiting my father and he loves this place, so I thought we'd go together. Be warned that they do lunch hours from 11-2:30 then close until 4pm & they're also closed all day on Mondays and Tuesdays. We hurried to get in before 2:30 and the place was pretty empty. The lady at the entrance greeted us with the loudest, southern charm I've ever heard and they promptly sat us. Our server, Ashley, came over and took our orders. She was the best. My dad insisted on getting the fried fish n shrimp so I went with that and through in an order of clam strips. Unfortunately, the food was really disappointing. It gives very much frozen food that's been thrown in a fryer. Think long john silvers and lower the expectations about 10% and you're there. Lol! I was surprised when the bill came bc it's really cheap. I'm used to fresh seafood, so this is a no for me. I don't love anywhere close so there's no reason to return.

I've eaten here years ago and the foods the same. Decent seafood but they hide the fact they short you on shrimp and other things with the small bits of chewy clam strips. Got the seafood platter for two had three pieces of fish a hand full of popcorn shrimp and the rest clam strips. Other chain seafood places do it with the shrimp which I don't mind but my mouth was tired of chewing the bits of clam strips. Also you have to pay extra for oysters or scallops which they didn't have? For me that's a little cheap and drinks are like $3

It was ok, I wish I give this place in extra half star because the portions they give you is just shocking. I like the food but didn't lobe it. I would recommend people to check it out. The amount of food that I received couldve easily fed 3-4 people and that's crazy good for that price. Food ok , portions amazing.

Upscale without being stiff, comfortable without losing that polished feel. I ordered the jambalaya, and it was a standout. Well layered flavor, not overly heavy, with a nice balance of spice and richness. The proteins were cooked properly and the vegetables still had structure, which matters in a dish like that. It felt intentional, not just thrown together for a brunch menu. Across the table, the Eggs Benedict was equally strong. The hollandaise was smooth and properly seasoned, not overly lemony or thick, and the eggs were cooked right where they should be. That is often where places miss, but this one didn't. Dessert was where things really elevated. The strawberry cheesecake was clean, bright, and not overly sweet, with a good texture that held together without being dense. The chocolate Rasberry glutin-free dessert torte, was rich in the right way. Deep chocolate flavor without crossing into heavy or overwhelming. Service was attentive without hovering, and timing between courses was well paced, which is not easy on a busy holiday like Easter. Overall, this is a place that clearly pays attention to execution. Not just presentation, but flavor, balance, and consistency. That is what separates a good brunch from one you remember. We will be back.

My wife had a the filet, which wasn't very tender. We came for dinner based on advertisement of a James Beard award winning chef. I don't even eat oysters but know these were a failure. I had a sub that was described as being piled high with roast beef and served with an au jus. But instead it was minimal meat on tough bread with a dip made of onions and what tasted like great value brown gravy. It was our first and last visit, honestly if I could go back in time we wouldn't have ever gone the first time. We ended up here because the place we wanted to eat was packed, no issue getting a table here which should have been a sign. Oh and to top it off when it was time to pay we were told sorry we gave your ticket to someone else so here's their ticket, it's about the same as yours a little less probably....umm what? We paid it and left because we were over the entire experience. Oh and whoever on your staff that smokes weed it stinks up the place and just not the vibe we look for in a restaurant that's charging expensive prices for subpar ingredients. When we left we picked up a chicken sandwich at chick fil a just so we had a decent meal this evening.

We really wanted a…read moresteak, but recent rating on another steakhouse recommended caused us to look elsewhere--so we picked Benjamins. It was a pleasant experience, rustic look, casual--we had only been there one time before We had a shrimp appetizer, it was fantastic, huge shrimp, recommend asking for extra O'Bay spices if you order this. Then, we had a surf and turf with baked potato, steak was excellent (tender, good flavor), crab cake was acceptable but could have been better (estimate 6.5 out of 10). I ordered a seafood trio with salmon, crab cake, and crab legs. Crab Legs came with one cluster of snow crabs (they were not warm by the time I got to them and had been dried out (maybe overcooked?) and I would score them about a 4.5 on a score of 1-10). The amazing part of the meal was the Brussel Sprouts (wow, so tasty). salmon was ok, small portion, and cole slow was good. So it may sound as if I am critical of some of the food, but overall I say it was a great experience. Service was great, The thing I noticed about the clientele and ambiance is there were many people that come here regularly on Friday evenings--many of the people seemed to know each other and they were enjoying the evening--again great place!

Cons - We walked in and basically weren't sure what to do. There was a woman at we thought was a hostess stand, but she never said anything to us. We finally asked if we needed to check in with her to get seated. We did. But it was kind of weird. One bartender was awful. Never made eye contact. Wouldn't take any orders. Acted like she wanted to be anywhere else. I thought the Caesar salad was ok. It came with lacquered salmon. I would have loved the salmon, but not lacquered. It couldn't be made to order. Ok fine. I ordered it the way it was described. There was nothing lacquered about that salmon. It also was shredded on top of the salad and was maybe two ounces. That's ridiculous. Our server wasn't very helpful and not very attentive. I'm sure many people have had great experiences there, but I'm not sure I would take the time to go back.

Great to see representation for Korean food where we would least likely expect it…read more The banchan was tasty but weirdly limited (we were only given four for a whole family), teeny tiny portions (each normal-sized banchan dish was not even 1/3 full...come ON!) , and they never got refilled either. The Caucasian waitress did not seem at all familiar with the menu, so that was weird. The food was very good for the most part but could be better. So many options--nice offering! Strangely, the bibimbaps (we had 3 different ones) do NOT include fried egg on top. You have to ask for it and pay extra for it, which is ridiculous. If the cost of eggs hurts you that much, just raise the price. The menu even LISTS egg as an ingredient which makes it more confusing, but that apparently refers to the scrambled eggs that is chopped up inside the dish. Those scrambled eggs were kinda dry. Also, the veggie bibimbop was missing any flavor..had to add some banchan in there to get it up to par. Chicken katsu over rice was decent. Side of cream soup was ok. Waitress had absolutely no idea what ingredients were in it when we asked, AND she did not even offer to find out for us. We asked her to ask in the back and she never did come back with an answer. The beef kimbap/gimbap was really dry somehow. Like maybe the scrambled egg in it or the meat or both were overcooked and the rice not so fresh. Also it was missing flavor...it did not come with sauce or the pictured fish cakes. No sauces were available on the table. I had to steal some sauce from the banchan bowls to help choke it down. Also they're made just HUGE so it takes two bites to eat each and then of course that makes them fall apart. Really pretty to look at though. The miso soup sides were really good--usually at our local place they give us mild egg drop type soup so it was a welcome change. Would we eat lunch here again? Probably, since we just absolutely love Korean food...but we will learn from this experience and order differently next time. The mochi donuts on the way out..the cinnamon sugar ones were hard and dry and much smaller than the other flavors...so that was super weird. We ordered via the kiosk but when we got home we realized the humans got our order wrong so that sucked (the order is printed right there ON THE BOX, come on people) soooo...check the box before you leave!! The donuts could be way better...we usually get them in Newport News and those are bigger, fluffier, and chewier, but this was a decent attempt anyway. Oh, and the bible verse on the insides of the boxes was off putting. Because of that, we will not buy from the donuts/boba shop again. I feel like this place could do better but they're just not striving to, because they have no competition in the area.
