Wouldn't watch the video of what my car was doing, so he could see since it wouldnt happen when he was in possession of my car. He gets offended when you try to make suggestions. The diagnostic that was supposed to be free is all of a sudden $100 because he didn't like my review. I was going to pay him anyway. No big deal. It was never about the money, i just want my car fixed by so called mechanics. BRIARWOOD: EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE AND PRICING. My 2016 Cherokee Overland was stolen out of my driveway and shortly thereafter recovered by police. I recently moved to Fairfield and have not established relationships with businesses that I need to connect with. Geico rejected my claim because i did not read the fine print. Having a perfect driving record for 30 years, I did not know it was necessary to hire an attorney to help choose my policy. If my car broke down and AAA wanted to take me someplace other than Briarwood, I'd, I'd..... I don't know what but it would be serious. This place can take you right away, they don't overcharge, and sometimes, if the job is small (worn O ring after an oil change), they don't charge at all. The service is excellent, and they can take care of you almost immediately. Plus, they don't overcharge women of a (ahem) certain age. read more

They assess your problem and 99% of the time they are able to take care of it immediately, obviously everything is based upon the availability of parts. My Lexus IS300 died all of a sudden late Friday night. Called AAA Saturday morning and the service technician Ron was very knowledgeable and helpful. He tried multiple things including banging on the gas tank with a mallet to see if the fuel pump was stuck. If I had it towed to a service station in Westport, Southport or Fairfield I'd still be waiting on it and a mood killing $500-$800+??? bill for labor, new fuel pump, and whatever else they can tack on.... etc. Ron recommended Briarwood in Bridgeport (a good 10 miles away) Man was it worth it. These guys diagnosed the problem, spent their time and got the car running and me back on the road Monday morning for the exorbitant fee of $165! Can't say enough about their work ethic, and honesty. And I thank Ron at AAA for finding me my new mechanics. Labor costs are $100 hour ($80 with AAA tow) and not $120-$140. Can you charge me for parts they didn't install when I caught them they returned the money for the part but not for the labor they charged me I shoot him a small claims and won and they still refuse to pay they broke my car several times and had to repair the damage they did but not well do not use these people there crooks read more

Man, some pretty horrible service here yesterday. It was nice that they took my car on a Saturday morning and promised it back by noon. Not so nice that it wasn't done until 230. A number of problems: 1. Using inexperienced and apprentice mechanics to get around labor costs. 2. Servicing your friends' vehicles who came in after me, first. 3.Apparently the owner is a city council member? Good for him. Having other city council members come in and have meetings while customers are waiting for their vehicles? Not so good. 4.Telling me to wait while you talk to those city council memebrs so you can "test drive" it? Infuriating. 5.Using refurbed parts without checking with me? C'mon! My family, from New York, took the ferry over to Bridgeport, CT to attend our daughters Volleyball Tournament in Hartford. Our truck broke down while exiting the ferry terminal. It was a cold zero below night & panic set in. My truck was towed to Briarwood Auto Service Center (recommended by AAA) & this turned out to be a true blessing! Rick (the owner) and his assistant, Xavier went above and beyond the call of duty. They helped us in our time of despair. Rick assessed & ran a diagnostic on my vehicle & told me my truck had electrical/sensor issues that needed to be repaired, he didn't charge us a dime! He's truly a class act! I needed to return my car rental & pick up my truck on Sunday to head back to New York. The Auto shop is closed on a Sunday but Rick arraigned his assistant Xavier to meet me at the shop & he did! Xavier opened the shop, warmed up my truck, and actually followed us to the Bridgeport Ferry to make sure we arrived safely. I'm so truly grateful & will never forget the professional and above & beyond service we received. A 5 STAR review is NOT enough!! I had to have a used car I wanted to buy checked out here. I wasn't in town so I had the seller drop it off here. I only communicated by phone, but the guys had the car in with less than 24 hrs notice and gave me a thorough report when I called after the job was complete. I'm glad I chose them (based on AAA recommendation) because it turned out the car had major problems - including computer issues and a crash that Carfax hadn't reported - and he recommended I not buy it. Best of all, when I went to give him my payment information for the inspection, he said "No one is winning on this car. I'm not going to charge you." How often do you experience that?! read more

Horrible place. Would not recommend this place to anyone. They told me there was nothing wrong with my car. It was making a squealing noise, I knew it was my brake pads, was told no they are fine. Just got my brake pads done and was shown how there was nothing left to them. How can you miss that??? Don't go there for service on your car read more
