Really enjoyed my experience at Brick & Brew. I was excited one was opening in this area as I've yet to make it to Media. Friend and I ordered fried pickles to start. My husband and I just moved to Havertown, after painting night and day, we stumbled upon brick and brew. Great food!!!! We sat at the pizza bar the first night and food was superb!!!!! I am writing a review not only about this amazing establishment, but your new server Carolyn. As a "douchey"couple next to us asked her dumb questions and were extremely rude to her, she held her composure with her bright smile on her face. Food and customer service has been superb here. Great place! Tried it for the first time last month and it will be a regular. If you go, get the Speakeasy drink! Kind of like a Mojito with lemonade, honey, vodka and weirdly basil, but it all works. I am obsessed! I had a great BBQ burger with awesome fries. My only complaint is I ordered my burger medium but it arrived closer to well done...but I was too hungry to return it. Also, I had to ask for water more than once...only one server for the outside tables who clearly could have used more help. Otherwise, a great place with a great vibe. Unique decor----------- equally unique food! Provolone fries are awesome! Beer selection is great. We shared a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich and a porchetta sandwich. Both were excellent. We sat at the pizza bar--pizzas looked gourmet and great. We had a very nice conversation with one of the chefs--lovely gentleman. One word of caution however--they tend to have a heavy hand with the hot spices--so you may want to order your sauces for the sandwiches on the side. The aioli sauce on the chicken sandwich was delicious however it was VERY VERY spicy to the point where it overpowered the chicken. The porchetta sandwich comes with a "merlot/long hot sauce"--which we smartly ordered on the side---it was very very very spicy. I will definitely return. read more

Today, my family and I went in to for a late lunch. We waited for 10 minutes standing by the doorway. Another party if 3 came in. They were offered seats at the pizza bar while they waited for a table. We were not. When we finally went to be seated the table they directed us to was literally in a tiny cramped corner where we had to squeeze by the table in front just to get by. The 5 of us would have certainly not comfortably fit at the "table." Only then did they offer us seats at the pizza bar. This poor customer service reflects they did not care if my family and I ate there or not. I will not be returning and will share this experience with anyone that asks about this restaurant. read more

My ideal rating for this place is 3.5. It was a very pleasant evening. I would return mostly for drinks and if we needed to eat, we could. I can't say I would return for the food itself but it was fine. We had the Brussel sprouts (3 stars), stuffed peppers, which were a special (4 stars) and the spicy sausage pizza (4 stars). My husband and I absolutely LOVE this place. Yes, it gets crowded and no, there isn't a waiting area so your timing needs to be good. We've probably had all of their pizzas and love ALL OF THEM. The flatbread specials are always wonderful as are any type of wings. Lobster mac and cheese served in a skillet is creamy and delicious with lots of big pieces of lobster. The fried pickles are thin and crispy - a must try! The specials NEVER disappoint and the cocktails (the capone, strawberry fields and any margarita) are over the top! read more

Heading home from DCMH and decided to check out this restaurant based on Yelp reviews. It was 9pm on a Tuesday night and the place was packed. Our waitress, Jessica, was very attentive and made some great menu suggestions. We ended up sharing the roasted beet salad and the Chevrine brick oven pizza. Both were excellent. While we're not in this area very often I would highly recommend this restaurant. Give it a try! read more

Everyone here is very nice. Went here for brunch on a nice day - they had the convertible doors open so we were able to get the breeze but also not get sunburnt. The food was excellent but the selection was a little on the short side. We ordered the specials from the chalkboard and they were delicious. With so many bar/restaurants/pubs to choose from in Havertown, Brick & Brew is a great choice. Was here in late afternoon for a beer and a bite with a friend. Beer selection was eclectic but not so much that a non-beer snob like me couldn't find a good one (a nice Allagash). We had the prosciutto fries and a word of warning...they are really good but very rich. Even us two husky patrons had a tough time finishing it. Service was really friendly and attentive. One suggestion: B&B makes their catsup in-house, and it's more of a A1 Steak Sauce than a catsup. Bring back Heinz! Also be mindful of the on-street parking meters. I dig this place, the menu is a little "foody" but it's interesting with a smattering of amped up classics and new ideas on the menu. When I went the place was packed to the gills but despite this the food came out in a timely manner and the service was pleasant. I got one of their pizzas , the goat cheese pesto, and it was delicious with a thin crispy crust. my friend got a bratwurst sandwich on a pretzel bun with fresh spicy mustard. it looked and smelled incredible and she thoroughly enjoyed it. As for the bar, they have a billion beers and wines which take up most of the small menu, and they have a good selection of unique cocktails as well which come in quite a tall glass may i add! It's a small (but gorgeous- the vibe is very modern but warm) place that gets really busy so try to plan accordingly. I live a few blocks away and you can see and hear the restaurant and smell the wonderful brick oven. Definitely a great addition to Havertown. read more

A solid option for the burbs. Their tap selection, while not outstanding, always has at least one beer I want to drink, and the accompanying upscale bar menu compliments the beer nicely. My main complaints are that (1) the food is sometimes too sweet (wings, for example, or a burger special I had once with a pepper jelly) and (2) the crowd is a bit bro-ey. But if you're looking for somewhere in the area to have a solid burger (never overcooked!) and fries, or maybe an arty pizza, I recommend it. Just steer clear of any menu items that look like they will be sweet. read more

Looked for a local place while in town. From the reviews I decided to try this place out. Started with wings. Very tasty. Top notch. Next had a burger. Asked for med rare, or at least some color in it. Wanted a simple bacon cheeseburger with lettuce tomato. They said no problem. Asked for some pickles, but they charged for that which made me wonder. The burger come out. Looked great. Looked for ketchup and found their house ketchup which tasted strange. Asked for some BBQ sauce instead. That tasted medicinal. No bueno. All burgers at the table were cooked med well, no color and dry all around. Too hungry to send them all back. The fries were weird too. I guess they were double fried. Too hard and tasteless too. So we took it on the chin. Got the bill, 75 bucks, no drinks. 4 burgers 1 app. Found out they charged me 1 dollar per tomato slice, 50 cents per BBQ sauce little container, 2 dollars per bacon / burger. Talk about a la carte. Why not charge me for the ice in my water. Suffice it to say, wasn't horrible, just not traditional enough or bang for the buck for me. I will not return. read more

Why I gave them three stars ... we frequented them before our son was born, but now have avoided them like the plague-- reason being, they are so child un- friendly. There are some other cute restaurants in the area now that will accommodate with a high chair ( even in small spaces). I get they want it to be a mostly adult place , but when there are four adults going out for an early dinner and drinks, one of us wants to bring a six month old--I wouldn't think that's the end of the world, but they seem to. So for that reason we have stopped going and our family has stopped as well--- been well over a year now. This was my first time a Brick and Brew and I'm glad I finally got to stop in after having it bookmarked for about a year. This place is really cool and rustic on the inside and they offer outside seating which helps spread out the crowd because this place is pretty small. For a Tuesday night, it was packed aside from a couple of seats at the bar and a table outside, which I thought was pretty impressive. Way to get those seats filled B&B! We opted for a seat at the bar. My love had a Scottish beer on tap and I had the Speakeasy, which was pretty to look at and really refreshing. We also tried some food starting with the deviled eggs, which comes with four eggs topped with a mustardy avocado filling and a shrimp, and the fried pickles. The pickles were tasty but a little hard to eat as they were fried thin, long slices of pickles making you have to take quite big bit to be able to eat them. Then we eat got a sandwich: the hub got the Crab PLT, which he enjoyed half of and I had the Guinness braised short rib sandwich which was tasty but after all the snacks I could barely eat half. Also, it should be noted that each sandwich comes with a hefty pile of fries. You will not go hungry here! I'd like to come back again the next time I'm in the area and try some beer. Went here on a saturday night with 3 friends- very crowded & cramped. Standing room only. cool, rustic atmosphere, nice mixed crowd, but loud....had to wait 45 minutes to get a table, standing at the bar. had a couple of the Moody Blues cocktail, which was good. Finally sat at a small table. We had the deviled eggs with shrimp(delicious), and the cherry bourbon wings (very good). i had a spicy sausage pizza, which was good but the crust was way too thin, and floppy, had to use a fork. a friend had the mushroom pizza, which was better, another friend had the Sorry Charlie burger, which was very good. Another friend had the wedge salad which was good. Service is good. Overall, the food is great but it's way too cramped & crowded if it's a busy night. read more
