Backstage is nothing short of EXCELLENT and quite possibly the best restaurant in all of Delco if not the entire Philly Metro. From the host, Justyn to our server & her partner, Hector to cook, Anrde/Dre everything was just beyond. Had the grilled artichokes + scallops wrapped in bacon for appetizers followed by crab cakes served with roasted corn & a side of fresh asparagus. We decided on dessert to top off the incredible meal, but instead of tiramisu (my fave) our waitress recommended the brownie/cookie combo, which was nothing short of heaven on a plate. It was topped with vanilla bean ice cream & drizzled with chocolate sauce. So glad I'm only a block away because this tap & grille is where it's at! *chef's kiss* read more

Food: excellent meal. Our table of (4) had a variety of apps, scallops, charred salad, shrimp, and burrata. All extremely well- prepared and presented. I had the Seafood Fra Diavolo - the shrimp were fresh, large, juicy and cooked perfectly - same with the mussels. The sauce had a nice kick and plenty flavor. My wife got the Red Snapper with couscous special. Beautiful crust on the fish and couscous was perfect. Our friends got crab cakes and short rib and raved. Dessert was tiramisu (fresh, light, and tasty) and limoncello cake (seemed slightly hard, maybe too cold?). Overall, an excellent meal. Cocktails: all were great. Art of Life, Angry Bird Margarita, etc. Service: waiter was very attentive and the waters were filled often. Very minor issue was management of utensils. Ambiance: very comfortable, lighting was nice (especially in the bar area) and interior was well-appointed with various musical art. Great to have this place in the area...we'll be back! read more

Service was less than good, the waitress forgot to bring drinks , when I asked for bill she printed and then got lost finally returning. They have excellent food I had Seafood fra Diavolo and my wife had the short ribs, food couldn't have been more tasty. I'll go back to eat again just hope servers are better. GREAT FOOD read more

So excited to have a decent and later night place in Lansdowne. I really wish it well. I really enjoyed my burger. The prices I guess are average for a fancy pub - a little expensive, but I'm cheap. I think fries should come with a sandwich if it is almost $20. The burger was really good, loved the toppings. My partners roast pork sandwich was decent - he really liked it, but about a mile away is a great roast pork sandwich at Paul Revere, for about $8 less. less ambience, but maybe the cooks at Backstage could go see what they are up against. French dip was good, but def nothing to write home about. The drinks are way too expensive. Same price as you would pay at a decent bar downtown Philly. $15 for drinks without much booze in them. They are fancy and interesting concoctions, but way too expensive for Delco. Our waitress forgot to tell us the specials, I overheard another waitress, tell their table after we ordered. But aside from that our waitress was very attentive and nice. It was also really bright in the dining room (which I prefer to very dim) but it was super bright. And then halfway through our meal, somebody said that they had forgot to turn down the lights. Really happy that the TVs are just in the bar, it was fairly crowded, but not too loud. We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and we especially appreciated the soft glow of the real candlelight--it created such a cozy and elegant setting. We started with three appetizers: the shrimp, pork belly, and bacon-wrapped scallops. Each one was perfectly prepared and full of flavor--a great start to the meal. For our entrées, we enjoyed the special of the day, which featured three tender filets served with fingerling potatoes and green beans, as well as the braised beef with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Dessert was the perfect finish--both the chocolate cake and the limoncello-infused cake were absolutely delicious! What truly set the evening apart, though, was the outstanding service. Every staff member we interacted with was kind, attentive, and genuinely personable. It's rare to find a place that delivers such an excellent combination of atmosphere, food, and hospitality. We can't wait to come back! Wish we took more pictures... maybe next time. read more

Chefs Dan Brodeur and Tom Hughes provide a great menu. The food was delicious. I had the Cajun shrimp appetizer and cheese burger. My wife mozzarella panzanella with grilled chicken. The worst experience imaginable! Had show tickets so had 75 minutes. Got seated and promptly ordered drinks, salad, crab cakes. Finished drinks and started to wonder about food. Others who arrived after us were being served. Where's our food? Oh, the waitress never put it in the POS. Manager came over to say he would see to it that our food came out. A random find one of my twin 14-year-old daughters and I found while we were in Philly for one of her volleyball tournaments. We really lucked out with this place. Restaurant owners Dan and Debbie couldn't have been more hospitable, greeting us at our table and giving us a sample of lamb stew (it was St. Pat's Day weekend) that was no longer available on the menu that evening because it had been so popular. It was amazing. My daughter had a margherita flatbread. I went with the bangers and mash (again...there was a St. Pat's-themed menu). We also had wings to start. Everything was fantastic. Jocelyn did a great job serving us. The bartender (I didn't catch his name) was outgoing and fun. We can't say enough nice things about Backstage. Lansdowne is lucky to have a top-notch neighborhood joint like this one. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. read more

I just paid $24 for a shrimp caesar salad. I thought nothing of this price because it's about what I would spend. I absolutely cannot believe how skimpy my salad is. I'm appalled. I have half of the dressing left because there isn't enough lettuce to pour it over. What does a side salad look like if this is an entree salad?
