Saturday night after dinner we wanted to grab drinks since we were not ready to call it a night , looked on yelp to see what was available this place seemed to be the best option. we came in & sat at the bar drinks I had the BWT Aperol Spritz not bad , decent taste , good on the alcohol hubby had the Private beach bonfire decent as well. they certainly have interesting names for the cocktails, decent music playing & plenty of Tv's that were playing sports. Cute place , nice atmosphere but they close too early by 10 on a Saturday ? not sure if this is due to covid but oh well our night was not very long here. The food here is wonderful. Everything is fresh and delicious. My skate was perfectly prepared and the creamy fergola was a great accompaniment. Only slight issue was the noise factor but once we moved out of the lounge area that was quickly resolved. I will def be back. read more

Already looking forward to my next meal here, it was that good! We dropped in for brunch on a Sunday around 1pm. I had the House Smoked Salmon and the salmon was like buttah. Just melted in your mouth, hands down the best salmon I've ever had. I savored every single bite of my bagel with their lemon scallion cream cheese. My husband ordered the Corned Beef Hash with Poached Eggs and he was thoroughly happy with his meal. We also ordered the NY Cheesecake and the Expresso Ice cream for dessert both delicious and the presentation was on point. The only reason, I am giving it 4 stars is because the service was very slow. Their staff looked young and maybe they just don't have the experience? Clearly, they have some kinks to work out here. Expect to sit for over 2 hours, that's how slow it was. A table that sat after us, got their meal before us and left before we got served. Another table next to us, was so upset with the service they asked to talk to a manager. Completely, unorganized. They were very pleasant workers and apologized multiple times. This is an establishment that consistently does all the important things right. They handle busy nights extremely well; we went last night on graduation night and the service was perfect and everything happened quickly. The food is extremely flavorful. Decided to try this place for lunch after reading some of the early reviews and I was quite impressed. The restaurant is nicely decorated. Two areas to dine we sat in the lounge area which had a beautiful fire place, bar area and tables not high and regular tables. The staff was quick to take care of us, really no wait at all we were there for lunch. I ordered the prime burger and my girlfriend ordered the New England chowder. Both were packed with flavor, so delicious. My burger was thick, juicy and packed with flavor. Cooked at the perfect temperature. The Chowder was delicious. To finish the meal we had the espresso dessert and it was so good. A great combination of sweet and salty with caramel. Out of this world!!! read more

Another 10/10 night at Brick Walk Tonight we got a fan favorite the Paccheri Pasta. It was actually the dish that made me fall in love with Brick Walk Tavern over a year ago! We also got the White Bolognese which has become a new favorite of ours and is served highly recommended by our waiter. I had another meal here recently and it was better than last time! Our server told us they changed up the menu a bit, but the food was still just as great. I got the Asian marinated sirloin and it was great. It also came with a nice plate of fried rice. Nothing much changed about the ambiance, but outdoor seating was available so that's a plus. Parking: In a busy plaza but there were still a few open spots, if not you also have street parking as well. Decor: Very clean and nice...not too much tacky stuff on the walls though they do 100% need to add noise cancellation pads to the ceiling as it does get quite loud. Staff: I had a waitress named Sara and she was amazing. Great suggestions, foods she has tried, and how the menu changes often. Food: Very well prepared, though not costing them a star, our reservations were for 7:30 and the were already sold out of menu items, which for me is a serious issue...almost a point reduction. No Protein For you! We were very excited to dine here and had been looking forward towards dinner with friends. We had to change the time of our reservation, as well as, the size of our party and the restaurant could not have been more helpful. Our overall experience was just OK, (the food was very good) but that was based upon how rigid the restaurant was in our request for additional bread for the hummus dip (couldn't have more bread without paying for another serving) and our request to add a protein to a salad (wouldn't do it). I will say that these 2 items will absolutely prevent us from going back; the restaurant should be ashamed that this is how they treat guests and they need to realize there are many, many good options in the area. read more

So I came here for a work dinner once. The place is spacious. I'd describe the place as elevated bar setting. Crispy shrimp was good. Korean cauliflower had great flavor and mix of cripiness and tenderness. I ended up with the steak frites. Fries had a great crunch. Steak was well flavored. read more

This is a really good restaurant and is five stars. Not four stars or 4.5 stars but an absolute five star experience. So I wound up here, because I was in the area at a local Orthopedist after taking a nasty fall some time ago and tearing my ACL. (Happy 2019!!). Upon leaving the good doctor, I was famished as were the two ever so wonderful people who accompanied me to said Doctor. We originally tried to go somewhere else but that place was closed. I whipped out Yelp and that was what brought me to Brick Walk. Thanks Connecticut Yelpers! The ambiance here is quite nice and the menu was full of interesting and varied dishes, everything ranging from traditional burgers, which is what I had, to Octopus. Our server was quite sweet. Unfortunately, I was not feeling to good and did not get her name. But she was great. I got a burger platter. So did one of the people with me and the other got Zucchini Feta in Pesto. We were also given some yummy starter bread. I should say this place is on the pricey side. But it is Fairfield after all. But we were skeptical. I am happy to say the food was great..all of it. You know how when the conversation stops during meals it's because everyone must be really really enjoying their food? That was us. I don't think a word was exchanged except a few "wows". I mean it. I do not give five stars all that easily but this place is a must try. I am also a picky eater, particularly about my burgers as is the other person who got the burger who maybe pickier than me. We both LOVED it. And the Fries were so good..among some of the best ever. My friend who got the Zucchini loved her meal as well. Verdict from the three of us..five, five and five stars. I spoke with the owner and chef Dave a month ahead about booking the private room for a bachelorette party. He was so friendly & accommodating. We ended up booking it for a party of 7 and I cannot say enough good things about our experience. We did the 3 course menu option which is $125 per person and included an appetizer, dinner, dessert and unlimited coffee, tea, still water and sparkling water. First off, the private room is this cozy, dimly lit room off to the back of the restaurant. I loved how private it was and quiet so it was perfect for conversation we didn't have to talk over the noise of the restaurant of music! The owner came in to say hello and allowed us control over our music playlist. The server was friendly and attentive. Oh and the food.....all I can say is WOW!! We all shared our appetizers so we were able to get a taste of everything and they were all delicious! I ordered the tilefish for dinner and I've never had a fish like it before. The center was melt in your mouth but the outside layer had a crispy skin on it that was amazing. This restaurant is a gem. The hostess was cordial, accommodating and sat our party right away. We did not have to wait long to be visited by or server. What is amazing about this restaurant is they change the menu almost daily, creating more anticipation for the clientele. So there is a great variety of appetizers offered along with salads. The apps were amazing. Our party had the brisket, but he sea bass and of course a few burgers. Absolutely amazing and satiating everyone. The best was by far the dessert. The spice cake with toffee syrup and vanilla ice cream - off the charts. This dessert goes to 11. By far a top 3 dessert I have ever eaten. Props to the pastry chef - and from what I understand she makes the desserts fresh every day. The desert cake was warm and a wonderful contrast to the cold vanilla ice cream. Every once in a while you go somewhere and say, "Wow, these people really know what they're doing!!" The folks at Brick Walk Tavern do know what they're doing and the proof is in the wonderful dishes that show up at your table. Many of these dishes show inventiveness or a different approach to a classic: grilled cheese gets a refined makeover and shrimp arrives with a spicy, crispy upgrade. As the name implies, the restaurant is part of the Brick Walk development along Fairfield's Post Road. There are a few gems nearby, but I think BWT is among the best. It's much larger than it appears when you first walk up with dining rooms and a bar in the back, but to be safe you can reserve a spot on OpenTable. Thanks to that reservation we were promptly seated and welcomed by the always friendly and professional staff. The menu is quite extensive. You could easily show up with a group with diverse tastes and everyone would be happy. Last night there was a full list of specials in addition to the lengthy menu, which includes Tavern Classics and Chef's Inspiration. The former includes tried and true items like chicken parmesan and steak frites, while the latter includes the aforementioned shrimp and chickpea eggplant "meatballs." We started with deviled eggs from the specials menu. It was a throwback to a few years ago when new versions of the retro classic popped up on menus everywhere. The specials version came with an Asian twist, the yolk filling was mixed with Asian spices, topped with a potato crisp and placed upon a creamy sauce. These takes on the old party favorite are usually interesting and this one was also pleasing. I started with the tuscan kale and brussel sprouts salad. The two main ingredients are shredded and presented artfully. The presentation, evocative of chic city establishments, is complemented by polenta croutons, dried cranberries, and a lemon truffle vinaigrette. See, they know how to turn what could be another boring salad into a work of art that also tastes as good as it looks! The tasty crispy shrimp is another standout dish. Again, this could be a pretty standard option, but Brick Walk Tavern takes it to another level with a light batter which provides the crisp and a chili sauce which brings the kick. The shrimp is topped with cilantro, green onion, and radish, which all makes for an attractive dish served on a slate tray. Our server, who was wonderful, said this one was a crowd favorite and it was easy to see why. Vegans rejoice, there is a great option here with the chickpea eggplant meatballs. If you have ever had the eggplant meatballs at B.Good, they're like those, but with a fancy restaurant treatment. Five large "meatballs" were served over red sauce and arranged around a ratatouille stack. Having been made with chickpea and eggplant, these are softer than the meat version, but just as flavorful with a perfect mix of seasonings to go along with the sauce and a drizzle of pesto. It's a hearty serving and I left feeling full --- and very pleased! The BWT Grilled Cheese is an adult version of the childhood favorite with a mozzarella cheese subbing in for the American slices, joined by olive tapenade, roasted red pepper, speck, and arugula - all of which earned a big thumbs up!! The fries that came with the sandwich were perfect, just like the French fries you'd get in Paris (minus the mayo for dipping). I would say that Brick Walk Tavern is an excellent option for a night out with family or friends. I recommended it to a friend today for a first date - wonderful food, but still fun and casual. Finally, I should note that I came here because I had a gift card which covered part of the bill. The owners donated to a local charity and the card was part of a silent auction package, so hats off to the BWT crew for doing good while also creating amazing food. We came here for the first time for Saturday brunch around one. We were able to park in the lot right next to them and were seated immediately. Our service the whole time was very friendly and just a touch slow, but nothing markable. The ambiance of the place is well-styled and impressive. For food we ordered the hangover cure, stuffed french toast, and lemon ricotta pancakes between us. Of the three, I enjoyed the stuffed french toast most. The hangover breakfast was your standard eggs and meat plate. Their house made sausage was very good, but for me, nothing memorable. The pancakes, again, were standard. The ricotta was good while the blackberry sauce was a bit too bitter and a little overpowering. We scraped most of it off to the side. The French toast was tasty. The bacon inside was a bit overpowering to me. It added a lot of meatiness to a dish that wanted to be sweet. I enjoyed it, but I didn't have the impacted I hoped for. Overall, we had a fine meal with no real flaws, but also nothing that impressed me greatly. There's other places I'm more excited to go back to first. read more

The crispy shrimp was truly worth the trip alone - crunchy, snackabke, with amazing flavor. We also tried the melon salad in a yogurt sauce with figs - I'm, and mussels in a savory broth. The honey bourbon salmon was essentially a small serving of lox, which we wouldn't get again. Service was the best we've had in ages - friendly, professional, and attentive. The food was fine. The drinks were another story. I ordered a martini. This was what I got--after I sent it back because the original underpour was so obvious that my friend and I actually started to laugh. Upon her return, our server told me that this was "the best the bartender could do" on account of the restaurant's "oversized" martini glasses. As a friend commented when I posted this picture on social media, "The best they could do? I think they misspoke as it is by no means anyone's best anything." And if you've been to any of our local eateries (Centro, Bonda, Old Post Tavern...take your pick), you know that's no "oversized" martini glass. It's...well, Brick Walk Tavern, it's actually a pretty standard size. Here's a tip: if you're going to pour a three-ounce martini, get a three-ounce glass. Underpouring is a stupid way to cut costs, and it makes your establishment look cheap and desperate. I doubt I'll be returning. read more

My favorite meal in Fairfield is from Brick Walk Tavern!! I uploaded a few pictures from several trips there . The chilli garlic crispy shrimp are a MUST order, you won't regret it!! The white bean dip before your meal is so tasty. The Mules of Engagement is so refreshing and a great drink to start your weekend with. Beautiful repurposed space. Lots of tall windows, private dining area, long separate bar loung area w fireplace, well appointed. Met a friend for a girls Friday lunch. Service was a bit quirky. Servers are young and seemed a bit off. My soup of the day was salty but still decent. The truffled cauliflower mash was delicious. Cocktail menu was creative. I can't say enough wonderful things about Brick Walk Tavern. The food is always amazing, and the atmosphere is lovely. An example of their warm heartedness is when I wanted to have a dinner party in my home. I absolutely love their Berkshire Pork Pappardelle and wanted to serve the dish to my guests. David, the chef and owner, put together the ingredients, packaged everything and gave me PERFECT instructions for cooking and assembling. It was an incredible evening and everyone enjoyed the meal. I love this place. Everything is excellent. Everything! But I am distraught that my most favorite item on the menu, the peanut butter cookie, has been taken off the menu. This cookie is what motivates me to come to this restaurant above all other restaurants (with equally exceptional food.) That cookie, as crazy as it sounds, was a game changer and they need to bring it back! I will go back to 5 stars when the cookie returns. read more

We tried this restaurant while visiting the area. Many reviews raved about the food, however we were a little underwhelmed. We had the crispy shrimp and bone marrow to start. The bone marrow was very good and would definitely suggest. We found the shrimp to be small and drowning in the sauce. That was disappointing because this dish is one they tend to keep on the rotating menu because so many people rave about them. For our main meal we had the steak frites, which was solid and the shredded kale and truffle salad, which was also decent. The ambiance was nice in the bar area. Last night we had a reservation for a farewell party for a friend who loves this restaurant. I specifically mentioned the special occasion when making the reservation. When we got there we were seated in the dark noisy corner of the bar (they may make it sound nice using "tavern" but it is the bar area.) I went up to the woman who seated us and said this was a special occasion as I mentioned in our reservation and could they not do a better table for us - the dining room was half empty. After discussion with the man there they moved us to a better and quieter table still in the bar area. The food was good to very good (except the new mustard green salad which was okay but not very good) and except for a mishap in which one person got a lesser wine than she ordered (which was rectified) the rest of the evening went fine. It should be noted that the dining room never did fill up and we could have easily been seated there. I mentioned that to the woman at the desk and she said those had been reserved but the people decided to sit in the bar. We were in the bar - it didn't fill up with people - that simply was not true. I will never return to Brick Walk. It was my second time there and it is pricey with mostly good food but the way we were treated both times makes this a no go for me. read more

I came here for the first time with my Dad for their Sunday Italian Dinner and it blew me away! You received so much food and it was all fantastic. The space is big and very warm. The bar area is very nice and has quite a few stools. All the staff were attentive and quick to get rid of empty plates. I had an Italian Rosé Prosecco and it was the best Prosecco I have ever had, I took a picture of the name so I can try to find it on my own. For the first course we received stuffed mushrooms, calamari and shrimp, stuffed sausage bread and Caesar salad. The stuffed mushrooms and bread were my favorite. They both had so much flavor. For the second course we received Grandmas Sunday Sauce which came with so much meat: meatballs, beef, pork, and sausage, and it was all delicious. The third course was chicken cutlets and they were cooked perfectly. We also received desserts which were good, I'm just not a huge Italian dessert person. I can't wait to come back here and try more dishes! This is a great spot in town. read more

Went to the Brickwalk recently. Started w SS crab appy and my partner had the mixed green salad. Crab was very light almost like a tempura. Served on a bed of spaghetti zuchhini. Sauce was light and almost maple like. Excellent. The salad was fresh and cold. My dining partner felt it had too much vinegar but I thought it was excellent. Entrees were salmon over a bed of corn and sauteed mushrooms. Salmon was silky and moist. Cooked perfectly. Partner went with the lemongrass and chicken dumplings. Lighht and crispy. Intense flavor. Finished w a coffee brulee. Fantastic. The menu changes daily and it is clear the chef has it going on in the kitchen. Gave 4 stars because interior has slightly industrial feel ( concrete floors). I know this is nitpicking. The service was well paced. Prices may be a bit high but you get what you pay for. We will return! read more
