So, we recently met a couple at a restaurant in New Haven that told us about this place and we couldn't wait to come. They raved about this sea urchin? dish with Calabrian chilies and to make sure Chef Dan Snyder was working when we went. Not sure if he was working last night, but I'm sure he was if he's head chef. We were very intrigued and made a reservation shortly after and upon pulling in to the parking lot, realize we had already been here! Too funny. Our first trip we had the dumplings and they were good from what I remember. I believe I did not review the restaurant since we only had appetizers. Moving on to this second excursion, it was a nice time. Friendly and attentive staff. We started with the gorgonzola salad, and I had the Branzino and boyfriend had the Chicken Scarpiello. Everything was delicious. Branzino was over couscous. Two pieces of fish. Definitely filling. Chicken Scarpiello amazing flavor profile. You aren't getting romantic ambiance which I like to go for on Saturday nights and it can be quite loud during busy time (6:45) so just note that. It's nice that it's in a plaza with a cool place next door to grab a drink after (Sophie's). Honestly the bar inside looked nice here too. Walked by it when I went to use the restroom. It's sort of tucked away in the back. Worth checking out.

We went her for our daughter's birthday, on her request. We had a great experience. The restaurant is cozy and classy. The menu is great and our food was amazing. The service is also top-noch and they truly give you a culinary experience worth it. Thanks for giving us a great night celebrating our daughters birthday.

Brick walk Tavern is a wonderful place to go for a delicious dinner date night or with another couple great execution nice variety on their menu of delicious appetizers. Tasty entrées. French onion burger is delicious for starters zucchini chips were perfectly cooked and seasoned nicely brussels sprouts delicious. Friends have had the Steak Frite said they delicious. But the house made desserts were the best, especially the crème brûlée and the peanut butter baked cookie. We also had the pistachio chocolate cake, which was good, but the others were better. I heard the apple tart is the best one. We will have to get that next time. Will add more pictures.

A nice place for a well prepared inventively seasoned and delightful menu. The drink selections are excellent, but the appetizers and entrées are even better.

In Madrid, they have Casa Botin. It's very old. Stone walls, a wood-fired oven that's been burning for centuries. You go there to taste history, eat roast suckling pig, to eat something that's never changed. In Fairfield, there's Brick Walk Tavern. It's not ancient, but it feels timeless in the right ways. There's a seasonal fire burning here, too--not just in the hearth, but in the kitchen, in the staff, in the way the food hits the table. The room is warm. You can hear yourself think. You don't have to shout to be heard. At the same time it's a lot of fun as a later night place without question. The cuisine leaves you understanding why the CIA educated the chef. Excellent in all respects. Christine at the bar is the welcoming face of the restaurant and makes superb cocktails. In a world of overpriced, painfully loud places and people who don't seem to care anymore, this place does. The waitstaff looks you in the eyes. The chef has a commanding presence that makes you feel cared for as a guest. I highly recommend.

In our local Facebook groups, Brick Walk Tavern is consistently highly rated, for food and service, so I finally made it over there, with my daughter. And I'm so glad I did, and can't wait to go again. Service was fantastic from the moment we entered. The interior is very nice and there are some amazing historical photos on the walls. Food was superb! We started with shrimp shumai, which were out of this world! My daughter had burger and some of the best fries I've ever hard. I had a delicious swordfish with risotto, and we finished with ice cream and for me, an espresso martini. There was also a great wine list, and I tried a few new white wines, per recommendation of our server. This is one of those places where it's worth the money! Especially for special occasions, or if you're a foodie. So happy to have this place in Fairfield!

Although we arrived just shy of the 12pm opening, they welcomed us to sit and order drinks. The outside dining area is lovely with lots of flowers and plants, and a relaxed atmosphere. Our waitress brought water and took our drink order right away. We were in no rush to order which I think may have aggravated our server as she seemed annoyed, grimacing, and then aloof for the remainder of our visit, which definitely put a damper on our experience. My friend chose the wedge salad with steak and I decided on the Brie Croquette salad. I am not usually a fan of fruit in my salad, but the apples and strawberries melded perfectly with the arugula and candied almonds. The dressing was light and flavorful and the Brie croquette was a creamy and crunchy delight. I also enjoyed the crostini with fig jam. The wedge salad with added streak was tasty and both salads were good portions. The dessert menu looked great and we would love to try next time. The bathroom was immaculately clean. On street parking only.

My second time dining at 29 Markle Court yesterday! When…read morefirst I was introduced to this restaurant: an impromptu visit with a group, and we shared small plates, family style. It was delicious! This time, I reserved a table for four, including guests who were up to an adventurous evening. The place was hopping! A Friday evening fun atmosphere and a beautiful bar that reminded me of a Paris restaurant. We were seated at a great table with banquettes in a corner of the front dining room. Our waitperson was excellent- energetic, informed of the menu, friendly & interactive, I believe her name was Shamira. We received great recommendations for dishes on the menu accommodating certain preferences. Following Cocktails - from the usual order of Scotch, to the " Crimson" spicy, indeed. The "Wanderer" imbiber said she could sip them all night. I, being mostly just a wine drinker, ordered from the "unusual wines" - a delicious white wine from Languedoc named "Picpoul De Pinet, Feline Jourdan", which paired very well with both courses. Based on my enthusiasm we all shared a bottle with our Main Course! Total alignment. We shared Caesar salads, which were excellent. Everyone enjoyed their selection of a main course: Halibut with corn risotto, Shrimp & Grits with spicy red sauce (just right spicy), My dish was Mussels in ginger & lemongrass red Curry, paired with grilled bread for soaking up that sauce, Yum!; a Whole Red Snapper with Mole sauce for my husband - most adventurous diner of the evening! We stretched ourselves to order two desserts: Crème Brûlée and Goat Cheesecake! Sublime. On departing the Restaurant, we were thanked for dining by the Proprietor, Wesley. We had an inspiring conversation about Bridgeport's future. A memorable evening.

This place deserves way more attention than it gets. Tucked in downtown Bridgeport with easy street…read moreand garage parking nearby, 29 Markle Court walks in with serious style -- the decor is chic, the atmosphere is warm and cool at the same time, and it genuinely feels like somewhere you'd expect to find in a much bigger city. Drinks first: my slightly dirty martini was made exactly right. My friend went with cosmo and it was equally on point. Whoever is behind that bar has their act together. Then the food happened. We started with grilled bread with an EVOO, agave, and chile dip -- sounds simple, ate like a statement. The char on the bread, the heat and sweetness of that dip. Good sign of things to come. Main event: shrimp and grits. Guinea flint grits, spicy red sauce, sage, stock. I don't say this lightly -- this is one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. The grits were creamy and rich, the sauce had real depth and heat, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. The whole bowl just worked on every level. Dessert: goat cheesecake with pistachio dust and berry compote. Tangy, creamy, not too sweet, and that pistachio dust on top was a perfect finish. We cleared the plate.
