This was surprisingly good and great location in the Solaris shopping center. Service was great, our server explained quantity and offered modifications as needed. WOW. I don't know what happened between March of 2020 and now but this place is awful. The chicken that is $36 for a chicken that is tiny with no vegetables and dry. The cauliflower appetizer was basically a bowl of foam with maybe 3 shreds of cauliflower. The service was so slow and we waited over an hour for our food. read more

We had an absolute blast at BOL with our family. The environment is over the top nice, they even have fancy bowling shoes ! The food is not at all what I expected for a bowling ally....the kids had steak and fries and buttered pasta with grilled chicken. The adults had the undon noodle lettuce cups, a Rueben with super fries, and the Halibut with orzo and asparagus. Every thing was VERY good but the Halibut was fabulous! In addition we had several of the mock-tails which were the best I've ever had. I had a no-groni and liked it better than the real thing. The service and staff were friendly and welcoming. My family and I stopped in for drinks tonight while exploring Vail Village. The hostess was unbelievably rude and condescending as soon as we walked through the door, demanding that we needed a reservation, before we even had the chance to explain we were only interested in having drinks at the bar. I came here for the opening social event of a conference I went to in August. The hosts had reserved the whole bowling area and had the restaurant cater the event. I thought it was great. The lanes are very modern with full automatic scoring and are in great shape. The bowling balls have 3" high numerals showing their weight and are displayed in weight order near the desk so you don't have to struggle to find the one you want. The shoes are also well maintained and in great shape. So, although I don't bowl worth beans, it was fun and we weren't struggling to get bowling or having to mess with equipment issues. While we were bowling, the food was served. Garlic oil on potato chips - the thick chips were made a little soggy by this mix of oil, garlic and parmesan, but very tasty. Great stuff! Crudite plate - cucumber, radish slices (mongo asian radish). Hamburger sliders with bacon - the most awesome sliders! Had a bit of blue cheese in them, too. Thick, juicy and tender. Wonderful after a long day of travel to get to Vail. This was the star of the eating for me. Teriyaki pork rib - my second favorite thing! Not dried out, but still juicy with fall off the bone tenderness. There were other good things, but those were my favorites. They served some desserts that were also good. My favorite was the apple turnover with ice cream. The crust was flaky and tender as if it was house made (it could have been, I should have asked). They also had some killer chocolate chip cookies. BTW, one nice thing they added is to have hand sanitizer at each bowling lane table and lots of napkins. The staff was super attentive yet not intrusive. Finally getting around to writing a review for this place... my boyfriend's family and I were very excited to bowl here on our last night of our trip. Started off pretty good, got all set up bowling wise and our server came quickly and asked if we wanted any drinks or food. Shortly after that e started to bowl our lane started having issues. The first time it had an issue it took a few minutes then they fixed it but then the second third and fourth time we started to get confused on what was happening. We asked if we could switch lanes since there were probably 2 open and rude employee I didn't catch a name but this man really had the audacity to say "how is that going to help us" then said they were going to have a packed house that night.... Okay Mr.attitude! Totally threw off the vibe. The manager ended up coming up to us letting us know that someone was working on the lane and it will be about 10 more minutes and that he will add the time back on after another 20 minutes. It finally started working so we started to bowl again and after about 30 seconds, maybe it stopped working, we ended up calling a night after maybe 3/4 rounds?? Thankfully the manager refunded us and took care of our drinks and our parking so I will say he was good about that but that man that gave us attitude needs to get talked immediately. Giving two stars because how the manager helped us at the end but besides that we were extremely disappointed in our experience. I will say people across from us ordered a bunch of food and drinks and got to bowl and they looked like they were having a grand time so I won't knock the place just letting everyone know our experience and the employee we had attitude from. read more

When I came to write a review for this location, I was extremely surprised to see such negative reviews. The one negative attribute I can think of is the difficulty in securing a reservation for the bowling alley, and the rude attitude given when you simply ask for the availability for any lanes. The positives go from here on. The waitress I had was so extremely kind and hardworking. She went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience, with the Mike Ward group, was top notch. Water was consistently served, condiments were brought right away when asked for, and food was promptly brought out. Drinks, by the bartender, were extremely delicious, especially the margaritas, as they were not too sweet. The Bol burger was the best burger I had in Colorado. I love burgers, and I have tried them in various locations, but the deliciousness of the meat, the juiciness, and the crispy condiments and bacon were to die for. The fries were excellent, lightly salted, and crisp. Desserts were also great. Lastly, the ambiance was excellent. The colorful lighting, decor, and modern tableware set the mood well. Able to get a same day reservation on open table on a Saturday. Prices on par with rest of the village for similar food. Ordered buffalo wings, rocket & proscuitto flatbread and Reuben sandwich with salad. Should have ordered the fries but sandwich was good and flatbread was great. Definitely nothing intriguing in the taste department here. If this place does not make it on your list of places visited in Vail, no worries, you didn't miss much. Food: We started with the HUMMUS. A trio of different hummus with different flavors. This was the best part of the meal. All three of the hummus had great flavor, creamy, and smooth. Came with grilled pita and some fresh veggies. KALE SALAD was no bueno. They used purple kale, so the dish was pleasing on the eyes, but everything else about the dish was disheartening. The purple kale was super tough and was presented in big chunks. Made it difficult to eat without giving it a good hack. Also, the dressing was a bit bland, but the cashews were super salty. So if you don't get a perfect forkful of the salad, plus a cashew, you just get a bland bite. On a positive note, all the veggies were very fresh. VEGHEAD PIZZA was good. Ample amounts of toppings. Full of the sweetness from the tomatoes and some saltiness from the artichoke tapenade. Even the fried eggplant atop the pizza maintained its crunch. I felt like the pizza may have been cooked a bit too long, because the crust ultimately was a cracker. Dranks: WHEW!! I got the spicy margarita and it starts with a punch from the spice, then a punch from the tequila. I do like a stiff drink, but when it comes to margaritas, I would also like to enjoy the sweet and tart to accompany my tequila. You may say I am crazy for faulting a strong drink, but to each their own. My BF had this orange Julius slushee thingy, was very delish. Reminded me of an orange creamsicle. Service: probably the greatest service we have received in Vail. Our waitress was super attentive and patient. Answered all questions. Super friendly. Glasses were always full and empty plates were cleared away promptly. Top notch service. Ambiance: casual. Very modern atmosphere. Kinda loud, but good for groups. Why the bad reviews this place is amazing. Only place during my 7 night trip that we ate at twice. Service was fantastic, host promptly seated us to the outside table of our choice. Our server evon was so attentive. Ahi wonton appetizer is killer I ordered it both times. Seeet soy and spicy siracha are great the real kicker are the crunchy wonton chops. Grilled artichoke is delicious, butter sauce is wonderful. Cheese pretzel bites were good and nicely balanced with cited meats and scratch made stone ground mustard. I ordered the miso dish dish which was a bit too salty but great flavor and sweet potatoes. Wife ordered sweet potatoes Dagwood sandwich which I thought fed gonna to be horrible and it wasn't the yogurt and pea hummus all made sense. We had burgers in the alley that took way too long, finally came out with cold fries. They told us they were making new fries, despite the kitchen closing. Salads were mediocre. Gratuity was already included, so who cares about service anyway. The actual bowling was also dumb expensive, crappy balls and slow lanes. I am an awful bowler. And although Jimmy Demaret said golf and sex are the only two things you can enjoy without being good at, he'd never bowled at Bol. Despite my inability to roll as well as a third grader,* I thoroughly enjoyed my evening here. The friendly servers will keep you supplied with alcohol, they have some tasty small plates like the truffle chips (dusted with pecorino and parsley) and a few fair pizzas, and Kingpin and other classic films play behind the pins as you roll a gutterball or two. Plus, all the bowling balls are painted to look like billiard balls (the numbers correspond to the weight), which is both functional and awesome. I used to love Bol for it's food and just relaxing outside at one of their tables. Unlike, many places people move on and so did the chef just fyi. I was in the mood for their classic Tuna Poki dish which was always a huge hit...everyone at each table would order it but now the new chef has changed it. It is not attractive it is minced up to save money with very little avocado and some sauce on the top. The poor server almost started to cry because she could see this was not going to go well into the future. Chef's always want to put their mark on everything but it is always a good idea to know what your clients like before ditching it or changing it. It would have been smart to have done a survey from your clients to see what worked. One of the other servers stopped by as she is leaving and remarked yeah the Tuni Poki looked like a mistake, loose, all around the dish with sauce on top...not good. I gave my server a huge tip for trying but there is nothing to do when a chef is in charge. Plus, why would he change the name...Bol speaks to what they do and then he will put a name in front of it which starts with a T if the customers aren't already confused it will not even come up on social media as fast as it once did. We are always very happy with our experience at Bol. The service is friendly and prompt. The food is delicious. My Reuben was out of this world and so were the scallops. Then if you follow up dinner with bowling, it's fun for the whole family. Like everything in Vail, it's certainly not cheap but we left with smiles on our face. This is a sad story because this place has unlimited potential. Unfortunately their service Is atrocious. For months, we emailed the manager Cat to try to get a reservation for bowling. We were unable to secure bowling reservation, nor a response which I found disappointing. We decided to try their food our second night here. Unfortunately I waited at the bar for over 20 minutes and could even get a greeting from the bartender (yet alone a drink!). He walked around at the pace of a snail wifh an arrogant attitude. But I felt badly for him. Clearly he was in a position to fail. Other restaurants have 2-3 bartenders working and clearly they threw their employee to the wolves with no support. This also indicates poor management as they usually creat the staff schedule. I'm so sad that this prime location is being wasted on this management group. Pros: -The wait staff was friendly and kept refilling waters even though we took a while to order -a couple of my colleagues ordered the Banh Mi which was very delicious. One in our party ordered fish tacos and received two of the smallest tacos I've ever seen and more disappointing is that they weren't full and barely had any fish in them for a whopping $24. Two other friends wanted to split two entrees and the waiter didn't disclose that there would be a $6 charge for cutting a hamburger in half. If the Wynn/ Encore or Cosmopolitan casinos in Vegas had bowling, it'd probably look like this. See and be seen. FYI, the bloody mary is served with a pony of beer. Loved that. Kids love the wire frame that allows them to roll the bowling ball down a slope in a straight line. And yes, there's even rail guards for the lame-o's like me. Excellent food and the service exceeded my expectations. When you walk in, you actually are shown a large dining area, which is very nice and not overwhelming at all. I can add on with what everyone else says "if you can afford it, then go all out" Very laid back atmosphere, as most families here in the day are probably recovering from their long day at the slopes and just there to hang out. If you're looking for something to do at night as well, they're open pretty late and will accommodate to most of your needs.
