This restaurant is located inside the beautiful Read House hotel. The restaurant is equally beautiful with a classy atmosphere that includes a room with chandeliers throughout. When we arrived for our 7pm reservation, we were immediately seated. Shortly after we met Chris, our head waiter. The evening just flowed with Chris handling the timing of our different courses perfectly. We started the meal with Caesar and Wedge salads. Both were delicious. We tried both filet and ribeye steaks and all were tender and delicious. Our wives added lobster to their meals which were beautifully served with drawn butter. We also had creamed spinach and asparagus which were excellent side dishes. The meal was finished with crème brûlée and a double espresso. Fantastic. We will be back when in Chattanooga and will try to stay in the Read House. read more

Came here with my husband on our 'Year of Dates'. Small restaurant, dimly lit- romantic. However, we were definitely not the typical clientele and felt very out of place- but that was on us. Food was great- I had 8oz filet, my husband had the NY strip. Both steaks were fabulous, we didn't order any sauces/butter. Seasonal veg was Brussel sprouts, those were great. And then the mashed potatoes, also delicious. My husband had ordered the French onion soup and thought it was okay, and we ordered crème brûlée for dessert- also okay. 4 different cocktails, all decent, but wouldn't order any of them again. Felt a little weak. I'm a total lightweight and didn't feel buzzed in the slightest (I wasn't driving). Overall the food was good- good quality, tasty, but I wouldn't return. I don't mind paying top dollar for amazing food, but I do expect to be blown away. Bridgeman's fell short. I could have gotten the same flavor and quality for a lot less. read more

We were at Bridgeman's last year and had a wonderful dinner. This year, not so much. Arriving on time for our reservation, we were greeted by so much noise, I couldn't hear my wife across the table. Most of this came from a large party at a corner table. The wife and I were out for a quiet, intimate evening to celebrate our 42nd anniversary. Last year, it was quite nice and we had a wonderful time. The food was good but could have been a lot better. The bread was way off and was nothing more than a warmed up bun. The fillet's didn't really taste like a fillet. The asparagus was good. Dessert's were sub par with my wife's Tiramisu not even resembling that dessert and my Banana's Foster was good until I hit the bottom of the bowl and was greeted by some gritty mass which I could not identify and tasted terrible. All in all, a disappointing evening considering the price of the meal was $$$$$$ and the noise was unbearable. I doubt we will ever return to Bridgeman's and at this point could not recommend it to anyone else. read more

Went there on a Saturday with my wife without reservation. They open at 4pm. We arrived around 5pm. No wait time as most reservations were for later in the evening. I do suggest a reservation to be on the safe side. The decor is upscale. Tables spaced out. Quite atmosphere and just few waiters serving. I do recommend the crab cakes from the small bites section. These are 2 cakes full of crab meat on a bed of hollandaise sauce but you most likely will ask for more sauce like we did. The lobster bisque is light pouted over a lobster chunk. It was done well. The New York strip was very juicy and full of flavor. The mash potatoes covered by Gouda layer had a nice soft consistency melts in your mouth. My wife tried the herb chicken plater. She liked it. We started with the steak tartare which was very tasty and very fresh. They also had dishes for vegetarians and a few fish options and lamb which I was tempted to order. I also ordered the foe grais with my streak. It was so tiny. Just two bites. The next day we ordered lunch for our meeting. The chicken salad sandwich looked very good. I ordered fried oysters. Dined Friday Jan 28, 2022. Firstly the staff, Dylan, and the rest were very professional and a real asset to your team. Unfortunately your kitchen mega failed twice in one special evening. We ordered the 34 oz bone in tomahawk to share, raw oysters, lobster bisque, steamed/cold (not broiled) lobster tail, roasted Brussel sprouts, deep fried sweet potatoes and a bottle of wine. Crème Brûlée for dessert. The Lobster bisque was exceptional - some of the best. Oysters were perfect and a nice treat. Brussels sprouts were superb. The deep fried sweet potatoes were unusually good but only half were cooked properly with the other being moderately raw. The Wine selection was excellent. Crème brûlée was ok as the chef got carried away with an idea of rum soak raisins that were absolutely mushy and unappetizing which took one far away from one's own vision of the perfect crème brûlée. THE REQUEST: We specifically reiterated twice that we wanted the steak well seared and medium rare to medium. No glistening red center - truly a warm pink at least. It was professionally repeated back to us. KITCHEN FAILURE: Before the bisque came out, we were told of a computer glitch in the kitchen and that the lobster tail was already being broiled. This is not the choice of preparation we had chosen. No big deal. It was fine and a bit too well done as expected when broiled. 1st kitchen failure. The second failure is extremely unfortunate as the steak came out beautifully sliced off the bone but absolutely raw with glistening red meat over 80% of the cut and the fat marbling was under cooked. We immediately returned the steak ($150) to the kitchen. The steak came back quickly and was again not even close to a medium to medium rare. We were told that the kitchen lights were different that the dinning room which created a visual issue for someone back there. Really?? Come on, Chef! Personally, I can and do often cook prime, well aged beef. This Being a very special occasion we wanted to treat ourselves by not having to cook nor create a scene at the restaurant. The temperature of the steak is the Patron's Choice - period! If the chef serves it the way he wants to then do not ask what we prefer. If this was a chef's creative specialty dish, then I wouldn't ask to substitute nor ask for a modification; however, this was a fine steak and IT should have been served right the first time. I don't want a sliced steak to be re-fired as it will not rest the same at all. We allowed that concession and the steak came back out as literally the worst steak that we have ever had in a Fine Restaurant. We choked through what we could and left the absolute raw meat and fat that was left on the plate. Their knife could not even cut through the slimy red, grisly meat. We didn't bring our phone/camera but wished we had. So no pictures but no phone interruptions . Please look below to Aleks G review. Our steak looked worse. The total bill came to $393, of which we included a tip $80. We were not going to penalize the staff. But someone should have never let this steak reach our table and surely not the way it was presented the final time. The restaurant used to be Parker's Steakhouse which consistently exceeded our expectations. This is the coolest spot in Chattanooga for dinner! It is located in the RH hotel with rich history of mysteries and legends. We ordered scallops and frog legs for appetizers. My sea bass was beyond delicious ! The sauce was amazingly flavorful, and I can taste many layers or seasonings. The sea bass was cooked perfectly while crispy on top. This was a interesting place to eat. There is a lot of history in this hotel the restaurant is in. The atmosphere there is like a vintage classic look. It was okay priced decently and tasted good. We got oysters and frog legs. I got the lamb shank ( it was substantial big enough for two, maybe even three people) my man got the filet. Everything is a la cart unless you get a specialty meal which is the lamb meal I got. For dessert, we got brown butter cake. It wasn't what I thought. Our experiances with supposed fine dining at a Hotel we have stayed in is not generally too good. In this case we were very surprised that this is the real deal. Having no reservation, did not draw rolled eyes, it instead was a very friendly nod and " I am sure we can find you a perfect table". Our server, Stephanie, was perfect. Explained the selections in detail and was very attentive. We shared a Ribeye, which was perfectly prepared and very good. The only item not perfect was the smoked old fashioned, which had too many rocks and diluted the drink too quickly.
