A Birthday I'll Never Forget, For All the Wrong Reasons. If I could give negative stars, I would. Save yourself from the embarrassment of this atrocity of a so-called "restaurant." Eight years ago, Rodizio was worth the visit. I returned on my birthday with my sister -- someone I hadn't seen in two years -- and it was the single worst restaurant experience of my life. The place was nearly empty on a Sunday evening, yet it hadn't been swept from corner to corner all day. It reeked of marijuana and mildew. The few guests present were visibly high, including our waitress. The salad bar was a disaster -- contaminated, uncleaned, and unsupervised all day. The meats were overcooked and extremely low quality (they've clearly switched to Sysco or whatever bulk supplier they're using now), sitting on the grill all day due to the lack of customers and still being served. The bathroom looked like a warzone -- water, soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and a diaper covering every surface. Not from a rush. From a full day of absolutely zero maintenance, just like the salad bar. When I tried to use my birthday coupon -- the entire reason I chose this restaurant -- the manager informed me it didn't apply because it was a holiday. A policy mentioned to no one before we were seated, even after I raised it with the host. When I pushed back, she said there was nothing she could do. I asked again, since we were never made aware of it. She dismissed me -- cold and unapologetic. On my birthday. In front of family. I paid the full bill in silence and left humiliated. I've dined everywhere from hole-in-the-wall spots to high-end restaurants across multiple countries. This was the worst -- not just the worst value or worst food, but the worst experience in every possible way. I would've been better off with a cardboard burger from McDonald's. Walk past this place. Save your money, your time, and most of all, your dignity. read more

The Rodizio Grill that used to be on 2nd Ave years ago was amazing, so I was excited to try this location after visiting the Tennessee Aquarium with my family. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The restaurant itself felt run-down and dated, but honestly that wouldn't have mattered if the food had been great -- it wasn't. The salad bar was below average and poorly maintained, with several items needing to be restocked. We were there for about an hour, and during that entire time there was never fresh cheese bread or bananas -- just two old pieces that looked like they had been sitting out long before we arrived. We asked multiple times for fresh ones, but nothing ever came. The meat was just okay, the shrimp was not edible, and overall the food lacked the quality I expected. The pineapple was one of the few highlights. The manager asked how things were, and when we gave honest feedback, she seemed surprised but didn't really make any effort to address the issues or improve the experience. Even her overall presentation felt reflective of the restaurant itself -- unkempt and lacking attention to detail. The entire visit felt like a place operating without much pride or urgency, which is unfortunate because the brand has strong potential based on how good it once was. I rarely leave reviews -- in fact, I literally downloaded this app again after years just to share how disappointed I was. This location is hurting the brand. I genuinely hope things improve, because right now it feels like it probably won't make it much longer. Update... I have to update this review due the fact that all 3 of my family members who ate here including me got horrible food poisoning here. Extreme vomiting and also the other end. What a nightmare!!! We recently came all the way down from Nashville with a large birthday party just to come to this place because we love Rodizio and are so mad that the one in Nashville will never reopen. This place was amazing. All of the people we encountered from the front desk to all of the servers to even a manager was a pleasure. They were all super nice and willing to help in anyway possible. We even had a large party with us and we had a few different gift cards in different formats, which made the billing process a little complicated and the manager came over and helped us walk through that and was always super kind the entire time. This was especially amazing considering it was a busy Saturday night. Of course the food is why you come here. It's an expensive place for sure but you get what you pay for at this place. The salad bar seemed to be fresh. All of the greens were cold and looked good. All of the other sides seem to be hot and Fresh as well. Of course the main reason you come here is for all of the meat and we were not disappointed. There was nothing that was subpar in anyway. All of the steaks were amazing, all of the chicken was juicy, and even things like the pineapple and the fish were well cooked. We really enjoyed ourselves and it made the 3 Hour drive worth it. The only thing that was a slight negative was that the men's restroom experienced some sort of flooding issue because the water pipe to the urinal seem to come loose from the wall. Which is obviously something no one can ever plan for. However, they didn't even realize that was happening, even though the water was spilling out the door. But a member of my team informed somebody there on staff and they were quite attentive to the matter, and I'm sure it was taken care of. Were there as a group for a celebration downtown. Arrived earlier than our reservation and they seated us with no problem. Our server, Kimberly, was attentive, asked questions about our preferences and supplied extra info about menu items. She was a gem. This was my 3rd time visiting and they are always a good choice. So I mean, what can I really say, if you venture or Brazilian restaurant you know exactly what this is! But if you haven't, it is quite an experience! You come any ingredient at the front desk, and they seat you in a very wide and large room full of tables. If you walk past the corridor to get in, you'll notice that there's a really big salad bar area. It is really big and it has four different sides to it so there is an innumerable amount of toppings and salad accessories. Because you can select to do only the salad bar for the meal or you can select the due the full which is going to include meat. Tons of meat. You get to the table and there is a wooden toy looking structure that has a red and a green side. This is going to be what you're going to use to summon and notify them that you are ready for them to bring meat over. Red means you are done eating in your stopping and green beans is go time. You pay a flat rate regardless so it doesn't matter how little or much you eat, as long as you opt for the full, you'll pay the exact same price. The only delineation price is going to be if it's going to be brunch, lunch, or dinner. I had a lot. I've been the Brazilian steakhouses before so it's not my first rodeo, but this one was good as well. My personal favorite was the parmesan steak. But everything was pretty tasty. As long as you have your toy flipped up to green they're going to constantly and consistently bring over meat as long as they have it available. They're going to come over and bring it on a school and cut it right in front of your face so you'll take it from them directly as soon as it comes off of the grill. It's probably best to do this type of thing when they're not a lot of people there because sometimes if you have a full restaurant, they'll be done with a certain meat before they get to you because they have to go through so many people. I tried most of the things, and then I rounded it off with a cheesecake. Then cheesecake was damn good too! Came with the berry drizzle and was exceptional. I love the concept of these type of places. Unfortunately, residing in Nashville there is no more Rodizo's to cure our meat fever. The closest place with this concept is in Chattanooga. I've tried all the restaurants with this concept in Tennessee, from Memphis to Pigeon Forge. I decided to take my father here for Father's Day weekend. He had never experienced the gaucho concept and I was excited for him to try it out. Immediately when we were seated our server came and made us feel at home. She was sweet and personable. She joked with the table and was a shining light in the establishment. After some chatter she explained how the experience worked: if you want the meat to keep coming, keep it on green. If you tap out or want a break, put it on red. Simple. Since it was Father's Day weekend they had some extra meats in the rotation. The meats were delicious. We started off with the ribs. They were juicy and tasty. All the steaks were mouth watering. The spicy chicken was tender and soft. Even the shrimp blew us away! The salad/side bar was delectable. Everything was fresh. A new meat was stopping at our table constantly. The longest we waited in between was 3-5 minutes. We were thankful for this time, because our plates needed some catching up on. I have been to this location twice and I think somehow the second time topped the first. The thing is the first try was already five stars. They went above and beyond when they didn't even need to. As the first daughter of immigrant parents, I want to say thank you to this establishment for making my parents feel comfortable in a space that they would normally be overwhelmed in. Thank you for having people here who speak their language and are able to give them service in their native tongue. Not only are they thankful but so am I. Let me start by saying we do not ever celebrate Valentine's Day by going out... this special occasion we made a reservation for the pre Valentine's Dinner for 9pm... we were seated after about 10min wait, drinks were a wait ... as far as the food servings they came around sparingly with selections of what seemed to be old meats that had been left over from the day, then they stopped coming around by about 9:30 pm no more servings.. salad bar was very disgusting! We left by 9:45 and we were still hungry! We will not be back! Spent $165 on dinner and left hungry, frustrated and very disappointed! A refund would be the right thing to do! My boyfriend and I went there on Valentines day. We had a reservation for 8:00. We got there at 7:30 to check in and was told to come back at 8:10. We come back at this time and are told it is a 30-45 minute wait past our reservation time. At this point we go and sit at the bar. The bartenders were extremely disappointing. It appeared that there were only two bartenders making cocktails for everyone in the entire establishment for tonight. That seems like poor planning on managements side for a night like Valentine's day. It took over 20 minutes to get someone's attention. I had to ask for a menu twice just for a customer to bring me one because the bartenders were that busy. One bartender was obviously too stressed and emotional to accommodate patrons in a meaningful manner. They were loudly complaining about how busy the night was and how stressed out they were. Well, it's Valentine's Day. That is one of the busiest nights of the year for nicer restaurants. When we finally got our names called for our reservation, 45 minutes later, we actually were taken out of the restaurant, and into what appeared to be the adjoining hotel's conference room to have dinner there. At that point, my boyfriend and I were extremely disappointed and contemplated leaving. The dining area was set up like a seminar hall for work conferences. Very embarrassing and disappointing for a restaurant that advertises good service & dining expectations. Never have I been to a restaurant and they've seated me into another establishment, a conference room for that matter. That was a first experience. We sat down at a table (at the hotel conference room, not the restaurant) that was so unleveled and unbalanced that putting a plate on it would cause a drink to knock over. We asked our waiter to fix it and he didn't so my boyfriend shoved a napkin under the leg of the table so it would at least stay upright. Before I sat down into my chair there was actually food on the chair and I had it swapped out. Our waiter gave us our drinks. The straw that finally broke the camels back was when we actually saw the meat come out on skewers, and how awful it looked. At this point we got up and left and went to Taco Mac. If anyone asks me about this place, this is the experience I will tell them about. I probably would've had a better experience in a sit down Krystal. Rather than argue, I paid the 19.00 per person with a 15% discount card from Holiday Inn. You would understand They literally have set the bar ! this place here ( Rodizio grill ) in Tennessee is a joke from the cheap silverware to the half ass salad bar. Spent a weekend in Chattanooga and this was our most memorable meal by far. It had been some time since dining at a Brazilian Steak House and this one certainly didn't disappoint. All you can eat flavorful meats and a huge salad bar, need I say more. We probably left 10 lbs heavier, but it was definitely worth it. The service was fantastic! We asked out waiter to write down the different meats we had so we made sure to try them all and request extra of the ones we loved. A clean restaurant with extra safety measures in place made us feel more than comfortable dining in. There was a parking lot across the street and some street parking. A great Brazilian steakhouse. What stood out to me here vs. other Brazilian steakhouses was the varieties of meat and the varieties of selections at the salad bar. First, the salad bar had some different entrees that I wasn't expecting. I was expecting a bunch of fancy stuff, which all Brazilian steakhouses seem to have. However, it just seemed to me that I haven't seen yucca or ceviche or beef stroganoff at similar places before. Secondly, the meats were of great quality, and some were different for me. Like pork belly, shrimp, and swai fish (I believe it was). Parmesan crusted steak and lamb too. I wish that the filet mignon could have made its way around again. We asked for it, but I think the servers mistakenly brought out a different cut. Anyhow, it was all great. The pork belly was clutch. I've never had it at a Brazilian steakhouse before, and it was definitely the highlight of the meal. Other notes: I could have done without the shrimp and fish, and I recommend wrapping the filet mignon in bacon. The chimichurri sauce also was clutch. read more

However, we had a horrible experience here, other than dealing with the manager who did his best with what he had. Their current cook needs to be fired, a lot he steak and various meats was either over or under cooked, or did not taste good. My girlfriend planned yet another birthday dinner surprise and this time it was at Rodizio Grill. Each time we have came here, we've always had excellent service. The customer service is ALWAYS phenomenal and everyone made sure to do everything to keep it a special day! Our waitress, Shannon, was delightful. She made excellent recommendations in areas we were unsure what to do. First recommendations made, our drinks. I had the Bahia Breeze. In this drink, you will taste fresh cut pineapple and limes blended with a hint of mint into a refreshing "breeze" of a drink. My girlfriend had Rodizio Limeade with Mango. This is made with fresh limes and cream. It's described as a treat for your taste buds. You can also have your own personal touch and add any of the juices. My girlfriend chose mango. I had a sip of hers and it was refreshing. Second, our waitress made some great recommendations on desserts. I had the Rabanada dessert. This is a warm cinnamon pastry with a creamy center, served with vanilla ice cream and laced with caramel sauce. Our server was kind enough to put a candle on it and managed to get the crew to sing Happy Birthday to me in Portuguese. I appreciated that. My girlfriend had the Orange Crème Brûlée. This is a Rodizio Twist - A silky and delicious creme brulee, infused with a hint of orange. Overall, we had an excellent experience. From the server to the Assistant Manager, Katie that came out to make sure our experience at Rodizio Grill was going well. I can appreciate when management comes out and visit each table making sure everyone was having a wonderful experience. Once again, thank you for an excellent service, excellent experience! P.S. One more thing. Tonight, my girlfriend and I truly appreciated our server, Shannon honesty & her appreciation for teamwork. After her awesome service, we wanted to tip her extra [thinking if we tipped in cash, the money would go straight to her]. But she insisted that the tip was shared among everyone. I decided to leave and they charged me full price for literally a handful of salad. The grilled items are brought to your table by gauchos who cut and portion them to your liking. They are always open and happy to accommodate your preferences as to how you like your meats cooked and/or prepared. They are also very attentive and do their best to keep your favorites coming. It wasn't terrible, but far from great. It is basically a poor man's Fogo de Chao, but at Fogo de Chao prices. The buffet offerings were very fresh and good, but the meat offerings were minimal and repetitive. Choice beef cuts like filet mignon did not make an appearance. The beef quality was nice for some of the cuts but chewy rare and sinewy for the others. Lots of chicken and pork offered, and 3-4 types of beef that were repetitive. Service was non-attentive and lacking. The decor was flat and boring for the price. They didn't even have background music. read more

Our server Cara was absolutely wonderful accommodating, attentive and friendly... this is where our dining experience went from wonderful to sad. The salad bar was uninspiring, dry and tasteless. If I had to pick an item that was edible - the Brazilian slaw with roasted coconut barely hit the threshold of okay. Wine list is terrible. The selection of meat was less than mouthwatering- tough and tasteless. The servers were all polite and did the best they could. We have eaten at Brazilian steakhouses in several American cities so we came in with a reasonable expectation. Four stars is the perfect rating for this restaurant. I'm used to Fogo de Chao in Atlanta and I came up to Rodizio for a Chattanooga getaway by myself. For a cheaper price than Fogo, we were offered various meats (even more than Fogo - though Rodizio didn't have ribeye or filet). But I'm not gonna take off a star for having something they already didn't have. I liked the salad bar. Not as high quality as Fogo, but more variety -- I loved the alfredo pasta. The whipped potatoes were also very very good. Simple things like that made it feel a little more home-y than a luxiorious restaurant. The cheese bread was old and hard, but it didn't bother me that much -- more room for meat! The meats were all pretty solid but some were tough. The restaurant was also pretty slow, so the meats didn't look AS fresh -- not saying it didn't look not fresh. And that's where the one star was lost. Very disappointing! First we went for dinner on Saturday, because they were advertising lamb due to the Easter holiday. This was advertised as dinner hours only. We got there right as dinner was starting and they said they were already out of it. Next, we paid our bill, and it didn't have the included gratuity for being a party of 6, so we left $60 on a $275 bill. The final receipt had that plus a $55 included gratuity. They refused to make this right. Watch your bill carefully, and don't go expecting the specials they have advertised for holidays. read more
