If you have dogs, kids, this park is perfect for you. They have a huge spaces for you to play with your dogs, and a nice playground for kids to climb.

Okay, it pretty much was date afternoon/night and my S/O takes me to an awesome cement slide thingamabobber. The slides look pretty steep and I hesitated at first but after the first slide, I was hooked! Hooked I tell you, hooked! There are plenty of cardboard boxes for everyone to use to slide faster. So down the slide we go to run back up the hill to do it again. Overall, the park is pleasantly clean. There is a playground set for the kiddos to run and play their hearts out. Gosh, I miss being a child without responsibilities. I thank my S/O and this park for reliving my childhood!

We took a walk around Brigadoon Park. This is a very nice park. There is also the concrete slides there. i

    Broken leg

My son broke his leg on the slide this is a dangerous park to take little kids i recommend taking them to a different park

It's spacious, my son and I feel somewhat safe here, being that the playground is easy to keep an eye on from a picnic blanket. grass is always green and fun to run around. The swings, minus the few parents who doesn't watch their children and lets them dash in front of swingers, are safe-ish, no rusty nails or dried up seat for swings. (And to those parents who allows their children to run right in front of swingers instead of going around, don't yell when I try to stop my son's swing from hitting your child! I tried, you try stop a full swinging child on it :/) The ice cream man! Haha okay, Shawn's ice cream truck, I love that he is always there and you can call him 30 minutes advance to come over if you want something from his truck. I'm such a piggy. I am fortunate that my son doesn't use the concrete slide. Although, I do fear when he is ready to go on it on his own.

The best day to come is when it's rainy and your nooby friends who have never seen a concrete slide before go down for the first time, slip off their piece of cardboard, and do a little tumble at the end. Lots of fun and lots of laughs here- free fun is always the best! Go down to the swings at the other end of the park afterwards and relive more childhood memories.

Rock slide! They're so tiny up there from down here.

SLIDES. Have friends out of town visiting? Bored and broke and can't afford to do anything except go to a park? Wanna almost smash your face and eat the ground? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then this is for you! Welcome to Brigadoon park, home of these infamous rock slides in San Jose. All you have to do is bring a piece of cardboard big enough to sit on and a whole lot of balls to slide down. I've seen little kids do this like nbd, but personally I've never been able to myself. Ive seen my friends hit the ground and I would like to keep my face thank you. But the other 80% of the time, it looks super fun when my friends do it LOLOL so I would still recommend if I haven't scared you off. It's definitely still a cool place for everyone to try at least once, (I'll get around to it eventually).

    Love this place!!! =]

What kind of park has a zipline?!? THIS ONE. Two seating options, one with a harness for toddlers,…read morethe other for older kids (I even saw adults using this). The park also offers a fun and inclusive space for children, with climbing structures, sturdy cement slides, swings for both toddlers and older youth, a see-saw, merry-go-round, trampoline, and spongy material making up the ground's surface. The occasional squirrel, lizard, and butterfly too. As an adult simply looking for a place to relax while waiting for my car at an auto shop nearby, I was pleasantly surprised to find this park accommodating. Dirt and concrete trails weaving through the garden, lovely vegetation in spring, and a good amount of picnic tables and benches scattered throughout. Also, a shady area with fake grass and seats made out of smoothed-out logs and tree trunks, as well as adirondack chairs where I was able to hang out and nap while I was there. It wasn't too crowded or crazy on a Friday morning, though it got busier as it neared noon time. In addition, the place offers a parking lot and clean restrooms for convenience.

The play garden has everything kiddos love -- slides, one seesaw, one round spinner, one rope climbing thing (that can also spin), swings (bucket and standard), small water play area, and a Zipline (one for little kids 3+ and one for older kids). They also have an area with tables, where someone was having a party (no idea if reservations are needed though). Expect to wait in line for a turn of the park is crowded. The play garden is fenced off from the rest of the park. They have a restroom on site. They have a small parking lot that is nearby the entrance of the play garden. I noticed some people parked on a smaller side street and walked over. I'm not sure what other parking options there are otherwise. We would return if we're in the area again and if it's less busy. It's a solid park and play area for those who live nearby.

Located inside Balboa Park, you can tour the museums in the area, but don't forget to stop and take a moment to smell the flowers at the Japanese Friendship Garden... There were so many beautiful birds, butterflies, koi, and plants I've never seen before. The grounds were very clean and well manicured. Pricing to get in was about $60 for a family of 4 (including student pricing for our children) which may be a bit steep if you have young children with thin patience.. however, if you are able to come in and find your Zen for a couple hours, this is the spot to do so. They offer free crafts for visitors- when we were there they were doing an origami workshop, which seemed very fun. However, our kids weren't up For it- so we did not participate. Would definitely visit again in the future!

The parking fee is....fair which means you only need to come here once or twice a year. To get to the Japanese garden you need to walk a bit to find the big gate? In terms of size it is medium length. Still being built yet good enough to walk around. Lots of lush green views and refined scenery verdant for miles.
